Since its inception, Hydra has harbored an extraordinary obsession with super soldiers.
This is evident from the days of their former leader, the Red Skull.
As for Jack's training arrangements, Russell did not have many objections. In fact, he felt a surge of excitement.
Although Russell now possessed strength and physical abilities far beyond those of an ordinary person, it did not give him a sense of invincibility.
When it was time to be bold, he would charge forward without hesitation...
When it was time to be cautious, he would retreat completely...
This was Russell's true mindset and his guiding principle.
Under Jack's arrangements, Russell quickly began his specialized training, transforming from a novice who knew nothing about combat into a qualified super soldier.
Whether it was due to the effects of his transmigration or the enhancements to his body, Russell's ability to master these training programs reached an astonishing level.
Whether it was shooting, combat, tank driving, or even piloting an aircraft, Russell demonstrated incredible learning and mastery.
As for the hacking skills, which were somewhat related to his previous profession, they were as simple as elementary school math problems.
Russell's remarkable learning ability not only surprised Jack, but also left Russell himself baffled.
If he had possessed such an extraordinary ability to learn before, he wouldn't have remained a third-rate programmer by the time he transmigrated into this world...
Perhaps to maintain his inexplicable sense of dignity, or perhaps to refine Russell into an even more elite soldier, Jack adjusted the training standards three times over the next month, incorporating almost everything he knew into the training plan.
Although Jack appeared to be just an ordinary middle-aged soldier, Russell knew that someone who could become the security overseer of a Hydra secret base was definitely not as simple as he seemed.
Despite the continuous escalation of the training program, Russell always performed with ease, and a month passed in the blink of an eye.
...
After completing the final day of the training program, Russell returned alone to his room.
Perhaps due to his cooperation over the past month, Hydra had temporarily relaxed their surveillance of Russell, at least on the surface.
Through this month of training, Russell had fully mastered his newfound strength and transformed from a combat novice into an elite soldier.
If he were to face the battles of a month ago with his current combat skills, Russell was absolutely confident of victory. He could even annihilate everyone in the base without suffering fatal injuries.
After a month of training, Russell's system attributes had also undergone some minor changes.
- Combat Skill: C+
- Overall Combat Power: B-
His combat skill had improved from the average person's 'D' to an elite soldier's 'C+'. His overall combat power had also risen from 'C+' to 'B-'...
Although these improvements might not seem significant, they had a tremendous impact in reality.
According to Russell's own estimation, if he were to fight his past self from a month ago, the outcome would be a resounding victory for his current self. He wouldn't even suffer serious injuries, and the battle wouldn't last more than ten minutes.
In short, his past self would be beyond cooked against his current self...
"9527, Dr. Wilson wants you to report to Lab 3 immediately!"
Not long after Russell returned to his room, the loudspeaker in the room crackled to life.
Dr. Wilson, the bald doctor, was Russell's current attending physician.
Not only was he responsible for recording all of Russell's post-enhancement data, but he was also in charge of the entire Abomination Project's research and development.
To be precise, Wilson was not actually a professional doctor, his expertise was in biological science.
Based on the information Russell had gathered over the past month, Wilson was once a world-renowned biologist, and even S.H.I.E.L.D. had extended an olive branch to him.
For some reason however, Wilson had declined S.H.I.E.L.D.'s invitation and instead joined Hydra to develop super soldiers.
Biologists of Wilson's caliber were rare even within Hydra, which was why he had been appointed as the head of the Abomination Project.
In this secret base, the highest-ranking individual wasn't security chief Jack, it was the bald scientist, Wilson.
Over the past month, Wilson had conducted weekly check-ups on Russell.
These check-ups mainly involved drawing Russell's blood.
"Russell, you're here. Starting today, you'll have new companions!"
When Russell arrived at Lab 3, he found Wilson making final preparations and two test subjects lying on operating tables.
Both test subjects were Caucasians, a man and a woman, both in their early twenties with long blond hair.
"By analyzing your blood, I've finally discovered the key to fusing the Abomination Serum!" the bald doctor excitedly explained.
He then pointed at the two subjects strapped on the operation tables, "And these two are the most suitable test subjects selected through genetic comparison!"
"Moreover, I've found that injecting your blood alongside the Abomination Serum increases the success rate of the fusion!"
Wilson excitedly explained to Russell, looking like a beggar who had just won the lottery.
"That's why I specifically called you here, to witness their creation... In a way, they're like your descendants!"
With that, Wilson led Russell to the observation room next to the lab and gave the order to begin the procedure.
As the green Abomination Serum and Russell's blood were injected, the two test subjects strapped to the operating tables began to convulse violently, thrashing like fish out of water.
Watching their agonized struggles, Russell couldn't help but recall his own experience a month ago.
To be fair, Wilson was indeed a rare talent in biology.
Even Russell himself had not expected Wilson to actually discover the key to fusing the Abomination Serum from his blood.
Infact, Russell couldn't actually fuse with the Abomination Serum... he had survived purely because of the 'Dionesium Factor'.
Yet Wilson had managed to uncover the secret of fusing the serum from Russell's enhanced body, which was nothing short of a miraculous coincidence.
Time passed, and before anyone realized it, the two test subjects had been struggling in agony for over three minutes.
Perhaps due to exhaustion or because the Abomination Serum was being fused, their thrashing gradually subsided.
At the same time, their skin began to turn green, and their muscles became more defined.
"It actually worked!" exclaimed the bald doctor happily...
