Lily went right to work the next week gathering materials for the expedition and helping Trinee in her lab to finish some of her experiments. One of them was fixing the pH in the tank she spotted on her first day. Apparently, they had been taken from the ocean versus the river to see what effects the toxic slug had.
Lily could see that the salt water was keeping the slug weighed down, but the fish still wouldn't eat the algae. After a week of filtering the water from the bottom of the tank to pull out the slug, the fish finally began nibbling on the seaweed improving their overall health. The only thing was that once the slug filtered out it disappeared before samples could be taken.
