Kevin woke up to the sound of his alarm blaring in his ear. He groggily reached over to turn it off, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. It was just another ordinary day, with classes at the university and a part-time job at a local café.
As he got dressed and ready for the day, Kevin's mind wandered to his plans for the future. He was studying business administration, hoping to one day start his own company. His parents were supportive, but also worried about his financial stability.
Kevin headed downstairs to grab some breakfast before heading out the door. His mom had already left for work, but his dad was still in the kitchen, sipping coffee.
"Morning, kiddo," his dad said, as Kevin poured himself a bowl of cereal.
"Morning, Dad," Kevin replied, taking a seat at the table. "Just another busy day ahead."
His dad nodded, "You're doing great, Kevin. Just keep working hard and following your dreams."
Kevin smiled, feeling grateful for his supportive family. Little did he know, his life was about to take a dramatic turn.
As Kevin finished his breakfast, he grabbed his backpack and headed out the door. His dad called out, "Have a great day, kiddo! Be careful!"
Kevin nodded, even though his dad couldn't see him. He walked to the bus stop, lost in thought. He was thinking about his upcoming exams and the paper he needed to finish for his business class.
The bus ride was uneventful, and Kevin got off at his usual stop. He walked to the university campus, taking in the sights and sounds of student life.
As he approached his first class, Kevin noticed a commotion near the building. People were gathered outside, looking worried and scared.
Kevin's curiosity got the better of him, and he walked over to see what was going on.
"What's happening?" he asked one of the students.
"I don't know," the student replied, "but I heard there's a gas leak or something. They're evacuating the building."
Kevin's eyes widened as he looked up at the building. It was the same building where he worked part-time...
The alarm blared loudly, echoing across the campus. The words "GAS LEAK DETECTED. EVACUATE THE AREA IMMEDIATELY" flashed on the electronic signs scattered throughout the school.
Kevin's heart began to pound as he quickly scanned his surroundings. Panic was starting to set in among the students and faculty. Some people were rushing to get away from the building, while others were frozen in place, unsure of what to do.
Kevin's instincts kicked in, and he quickly pulled out his phone to call his mom. He knew she would be worried sick if she heard about the gas leak on the news.
As he tried to dial her number, Kevin noticed that the building's fire alarm system had also been triggered. The loud sirens and flashing lights added to the chaos and confusion.
Suddenly, a strong gust of wind blew through the area, causing the windows on the building's upper floors to rattle ominously. Kevin's eyes widened as he realized that something was very wrong...
Pov Kevin
I quickly pulled out my phone to call my mom, my hands shaking slightly as I tried to dial her number. I knew she would be worried sick if she heard about the gas leak on the news.
As I looked around, I saw people rushing to get away from the building. Some were screaming, while others were crying. I felt a surge of fear, my heart pounding in my chest.
I tried to stay calm, telling myself that everything would be okay. But as I looked up at the building, I saw that the windows on the upper floors were rattling ominously. The wind was picking up, and I could feel the air charged with electricity.
Suddenly, I heard a loud rumbling noise. It started low, but quickly grew louder and more intense. I felt the ground shaking beneath my feet, and I knew that something was very wrong.
I tried to run, but my legs felt like lead. I was frozen in place, unable to move or look away from the building.
And then, everything went white.
The blast was deafening, and I felt myself being lifted off the ground. I was thrown backward, my body slamming into the pavement. Everything went dark for a moment, and I felt like I was floating in mid-air.
When I came to, I was disoriented and confused. I struggled to sit up, but a wave of pain washed over me, making me fall back onto the ground.
As I lay there, I saw that the building was now a raging inferno. Flames were shooting out of the windows, and the roof was collapsing. I knew that anyone still inside was doomed.
I tried to move again, but my body felt heavy and unresponsive. I was starting to lose consciousness, and I knew that I had to get out of there before it was too late.
But as I looked around, I realized that I was alone. Everyone else had either fled or been trapped in the building. I was the only one left, struggling to survive...
Suddenly, everything went black again.
As I slowly came to, I realized that I was moving, but not of my own accord. I was being dragged or carried, I couldn't tell which. My head was spinning, and my ears were ringing from the explosion.
But then, I heard a voice. It was faint, but it was definitely there. It sounded like...whispering? I tried to focus, to make out what the voice was saying.
"Kevin...Kevin, can you hear me?" the voice whispered.
I tried to respond, but my voice was barely a croak. I nodded my head instead, hoping that whoever was speaking could see me.
The voice grew louder, more urgent. "Kevin, stay with me! Don't go to sleep! You have to stay awake!"
I tried to obey, but my eyelids felt heavy, like lead weights were attached to them. I was slipping away, into darkness...
And then, everything went white again.
I stood there, frozen in shock, as I gazed upon the majestic figure before me. The being radiated an aura of divine power, with piercing eyes that seemed to see right through me.
I couldn't believe my eyes. Was this really a god? And why was I, of all people, standing in front of them?
The god's expression was serene, yet inquisitive. They regarded me with a tilted head, as if studying a peculiar specimen.
"Greetings, Kevin," the god said in a voice that resonated like thunder. "I have brought you here for a purpose."
I swallowed hard, trying to find my voice. "W-why me? Why am I the only one here?"
The god's gaze turned introspective, as if pondering the mysteries of the universe. "Your life was cut short, Kevin. You had potential, possibilities that were never realized. I have taken an interest in you."
I felt a shiver run down my spine. What did this god want from me? And what did they mean by "possibilities"?
The god spoke, "I have chosen your next life in a form of a wheel, and it did land on wolf, and the next is non-binary." I look at him, confused by what he mean non-binary
I stared at the god, my mind reeling with confusion. "Non-binary?" I repeated, unsure what to make of the term. "What do you mean?"
The god's expression remained serene, but a hint of amusement danced in their eyes. "In your next life, Kevin, you will not be bound by the traditional binary notions of male and female. You will exist outside of those constraints, free to explore and express yourself in ways that transcend the limitations of human societal norms."
I felt my confusion deepen. I had never heard of such a thing. In my time, people were either male or female, and that was that.
The god seemed to sense my perplexity. "Do not worry, Kevin. You will understand in time. For now, know that you will be reborn as a wolf, with a spirit that is free to roam and explore the world without the burdens of human expectations."
I took a deep breath, trying to wrap my head around this concept. A wolf, non-binary...it was a lot to take in. But as I looked into the god's eyes, I felt a sense of trust and faith. I knew that I was in their hands, and that they would guide me on this new journey.
God speak "it just that you can carry pups with or without a mate and don't say I'd that kind of like a female, but just know it is not like a female!"
I blinked, taken aback by the god's words. "Wait, what? Carry pups...with or without a mate?" I repeated, trying to understand.
The god nodded, their expression serious. "Yes, Kevin. In your next life as a wolf, you will have the ability to carry pups, regardless of whether you have a mate or not. But do not think of it as being like a female wolf. It is not the same. You will be...different."
I felt my mind reeling with questions, but before I could ask any of them, the god continued.
"Just remember, Kevin, you will be a wolf unlike any other. Your body will be capable of amazing things, but it will also come with its own set of challenges. You must learn to adapt and trust in yourself."
I took a deep breath, trying to process everything the god was telling me. Carry pups without a mate? Be a wolf unlike any other? It was a lot to take in, but I knew I had to trust in the god's plan.
I spoke "is their another non-binary in the world?" The god nodded and said "well there was, but that was like centuries ago!"
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the god's response. "Centuries ago?" I repeated, my curiosity piqued. "What happened to them?"
The god's expression turned wistful, as if remembering a distant memory. "Ah, the last non-binary wolf...they were a remarkable individual. They lived in a time when the world was still learning to accept and understand the complexities of nature."
The god paused, collecting their thoughts before continuing.
"They were a great leader, loved and respected by their pack. But as time passed, the world changed, and the understanding of non-binary wolves was lost to the ages. The knowledge of their existence was reduced to mere myth and legend."
I listened intently, fascinated by the story of the last non-binary wolf. I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to walk in their paws, to experience the world as they did.
The god's voice brought me back to the present. "But now, Kevin, you have been chosen to carry on that legacy. You will be the first non-binary wolf in centuries, and it is up to you to forge a new path and create a brighter future for yourself and those who will come after you."
The god speaks, "Ok bye and we be contacting each other when you sleep, but I won't do it often!"
I nodded, still trying to process everything that had just happened. "Okay...bye," I replied, feeling a sense of wonder and awe.
As I spoke, the god vanished into thin air, leaving me standing alone in the clouds. I looked around, feeling a bit disoriented, but then I remembered that I was about to be reborn as a wolf.
I took a deep breath, preparing myself for the journey ahead. And as I did, I felt my consciousness begin to fade, my spirit being pulled towards the mortal realm.
As I drifted off, I heard the god's voice one last time, echoing in my mind. "Remember, Kevin...I'll be watching over you. And when you sleep, we'll talk again. But don't worry, I won't bother you too often."
And with that, everything went black.
I now can feel something flesh, and I know I'm in a womb. I move around and hear a voice
I squirmed and kicked, feeling the warmth and confinement of the womb around me. It was a strange, disorienting sensation, but I knew that I was being reborn.
As I moved, I heard a voice, faint but clear. It was a woman's voice, soft and soothing. "Hello, little one," she said. "Welcome to the world. I'm your mother."
I responded instinctively, kicking and squirming again. The voice laughed, a warm, gentle sound. "You're a feisty one, aren't you?" she said. "I think you're going to do just fine."
I continued to move and respond to the voice, feeling a sense of comfort and security. It was a strange, new world, but I felt a sense of belonging, of being exactly where I was meant to be.
As I settled into the womb, I realized that I was no longer human. My body was changing, shifting into something new. I was becoming a wolf, and I could feel it in every fiber of my being.
I snuggled closer to the warmth of my mother's body, feeling the gentle stirrings of my siblings around me. There were several of them, each one a tiny, squirming bundle of energy.
As I moved, I felt their tiny paws and noses bumping against me. It was a strange, comforting sensation, like we were all connected in some way.
My mother's voice whispered softly in my ear, "You're not alone, little one. You've got your siblings with you. You'll all grow up together, and learn to hunt and play as a pack."
I felt a sense of excitement and anticipation at her words. I was going to be part of a pack, a family of wolves who would rely on each other for survival.
As I settled back into the womb, I felt my siblings stirring around me, each one unique and special in their own way. I knew that we would all have our own roles to play in the pack, and I couldn't wait to see what the future held for us.
I heard a male voice. "Hey dear, how are you?"
The male voice was deep and gentle, and it seemed to be directed at my mother. I felt her body relax slightly, and her voice took on a warm, affectionate tone.
"I'm doing well, dear," she replied. "Just getting ready to welcome our new additions to the family."
The male voice chuckled, and I felt a sense of warmth and love emanating from him. "I can feel them kicking and squirming around in there," he said. "They're going to be a handful, aren't they?"
My mother laughed, and I felt her body vibrate with the sound. "Oh, definitely," she said. "But we'll love every minute of it."
The male voice grew softer, and I felt a sense of tenderness emanating from him. "I love you, dear," he said. "And I love our little family."
My mother's voice was barely above a whisper as she replied, "I love you too, dear. And I know our pups are going to bring us so much joy."
My father voice grew. "My master told me that the crown prince will get his first companion later on! I wonder what companion he gets in this royal safari that so many beast and monster live?"
My mother's voice took on a tone of interest and curiosity. "Oh, that's exciting news! The crown prince getting his first companion is a big deal. I wonder what kind of companion he'll get too."
My father's voice grew more animated, and I could sense his excitement. "I know, right? The royal safari is full of all sorts of beasts and monsters. It could be anything from a majestic skystrider to a fierce gromble."
My mother chuckled. "Well, whatever companion the crown prince gets, I'm sure it'll be interesting. And who knows, maybe our pups will grow up to be companions to the royal family one day."
My father's voice grew more serious, and I could sense a hint of pride and ambition. "I'd like that. It would be a great honor for our family. And who knows, maybe one of our pups will even become a companion to the crown prince himself."
My father spoke again, "The royal safari is own to the royal family members, and only they can get a companion here, and the in-laws are allowed to have 1 or 2 in this place!"
My mother's voice took on a tone of understanding and clarification. "That's right, dear. The royal safari is a sacred place, reserved exclusively for the royal family and their closest relatives. It's a great privilege to have access to this place and to be able to form bonds with the magnificent creatures that live here."
My father's voice grew more thoughtful, and I could sense a hint of contemplation. "Yes, and it's a big responsibility too. The royal family has a long history of protecting and caring for the creatures of the safari, and it's a tradition that we must continue to uphold."
I could sense a sense of pride and duty emanating from my parents, and I knew that they were committed to honoring the traditions and responsibilities of the royal family.
My mother's voice gasped in sudden pain, and her body tensed around me. "Ah...oh no...it's time," she whispered, her voice strained.
My father's voice immediately became concerned and attentive. "Dear, are you okay? Is it the pups?"
My mother's breathing became more labored, and she nodded her head. "Yes...the pups...they're coming," she gasped.
I felt a surge of excitement and anticipation. It was time for me and my siblings to be born! But I could also sense my mother's pain and discomfort, and I hoped that everything would go smoothly for her.
My father's voice was calm and reassuring. "Don't worry, dear. I'm here. Just breathe and push. Our pups are going to be just fine."
My mother's body tensed and relaxed as she pushed, and I could feel myself being squeezed through a narrow passage. It was a strange, disorienting sensation, but I knew it was all part of the process.
As I emerged into the world, I was greeted by the warm, golden light of the den. My father's voice was the first thing I heard, his words filled with joy and excitement. "We have pups! Oh, dear, they're beautiful!"
I blinked open my eyes, taking in the sight of my parents and the cozy den around me. My siblings were stirring, whimpering softly as they took their first breaths. I yawned, feeling a sense of wonder and curiosity about this new world I had entered.
As I stumbled towards my father, my eyes struggled to focus on his blurry form. I blinked repeatedly, trying to clear my vision, but everything remained fuzzy.
My father's voice was warm and encouraging, "Ah, little one, you're taking your first steps! Come here, pup."
I wobbled towards him, my paws stumbling over each other. As I drew closer, my father's blurry form began to take shape. I saw the outline of his face, his ears, and his tail.
I reached out a paw to touch his face, and as I did, my vision began to clear. My father's features came into sharp focus, and I saw the warmth and love in his eyes.
"Hello, little one," he whispered, nuzzling me gently. "I'm so proud of you."
I heard another voice, "I'm calling the royal family members about this!" My father spoke,"the veterinarian is here that quick, " he chuckled
I looked around, trying to locate the source of the new voice. I saw a figure in the corner of the den, holding a small device and speaking into it. They seemed to be in a hurry, and their words were laced with excitement.
My father's chuckle drew my attention back to him. He was smiling, clearly amused by the situation. "Ah, yes, the royal family's veterinarian is always on call," he said, his voice dripping with humor. "After all, we can't have the future king's companion pups being born without proper supervision, can we?"
The other voice spoke up again, "I've informed the king and queen. They'll be arriving shortly to meet the new pups."
My father's expression turned serious, and he nodded. "Good. I'll make sure everything is ready for their arrival."
My father spoke, "Who knows, the crown prince might have a pup as his companion!" He joking ask
The other voice laughed, "Ha! Wouldn't that be something? The crown prince and one of your pups as companions? Stranger things have happened, I suppose."
My father chuckled, "Well, a father can dream, can't he? Just think of the honor it would bring to our family if one of our pups was chosen as the crown prince's companion."
I looked up at my father, trying to understand what he was saying. I didn't know much about the crown prince or what it meant to be a companion, but I could sense the excitement and pride in my father's voice.
I looked over at my mother, who was still in the process of giving birth to my younger siblings. She was panting and straining, but her eyes were shining with joy and love.
My father's voice was soft and encouraging as he spoke to her. "You're doing great, dear. Just a little longer. Our pups are going to be just fine."
I watched as my mother gave one final push, and then another tiny pup emerged into the world. My father helped to clean and care for the new pup, and I could see the love and adoration in his eyes as he gazed at our growing family.
As my mother finished giving birth to the last of my siblings, she let out a sigh of relief and exhaustion. My father nuzzled her gently, speaking softly to comfort her. "You did it, dear. You gave us a beautiful litter of pups. We're so proud of you."
I looked around at my siblings, who were all squirming and whimpering as they adjusted to their new surroundings. There were eight of us in total, a big and boisterous litter.
My father's voice was full of joy and pride as he counted us all again. "Eight healthy pups, all safe and sound. We're truly blessed."
My mother's voice was weak but happy as she gazed at us all. "We certainly are. And they're all so perfect."
I snuggled up close to my mother, feeling happy and content as I gazed up at her loving face. I knew that I was loved, and that I had a big and wonderful family to grow up with.
I thought 'wait so what will be my name?' And my father spoke 'it too bad we can't name them dear!"
I tilted my head, confused by my father's words. "What do you mean?" I thought, but before I could ask, my mother spoke up.
"I know, dear. I was thinking of so many beautiful names for our pups. But tradition says that the royal family gets to name the companions, so we'll have to wait and see what they choose."
My father nodded in agreement. "Yes, it's an honor to have our pups chosen as companions, but it does mean that we don't get to choose their names ourselves."
I thought about this for a moment, wondering what kind of name the royal family would choose for me. Would it be something strong and brave, or something more elegant and refined? I couldn't wait to find out!
I gazed at my coat, admiring the thick, soft fur that covered my body. The gray and white colors blended together perfectly, creating a beautiful, mottled effect. But what really caught my eye was the distinctive blue streak that ran along my back. It was a vibrant, electric blue that seemed to glow in the dim light of the den.
I felt a surge of pride and uniqueness as I gazed at my coat. I knew that I was a special pup, and my striking blue streak seemed to confirm it. I wondered if my siblings had similar markings, and I turned to look at them.
As I gazed at my brothers and sisters, I saw that each of them had their own unique coat patterns and colors. But none of them had a blue streak like mine. I felt a sense of individuality and distinction, and I knew that my blue streak would always set me apart.
As I wobbled around, trying to get my paws under me, I saw the royal family enter the den. I was still getting used to this new world, and everything was so overwhelming. But as I looked up at the crown prince, I felt a strange sense of familiarity.
I remembered being someone else, someone named Kevin. It was a strange, fleeting memory, but it felt real.
The crown prince's eyes scanned the room, and then they landed on me. He smiled, and I felt a jolt of excitement. I tried to take a step forward, but my legs were still unsteady.
"Ah, look at that little one," the crown prince said, scooping me up in his arms. "What's this? A blue streak on his coat?"
I felt a surge of pride, remembering that the blue streak was something special. I nuzzled my head into the crown prince's chest, feeling a sense of belonging.
"Father, Mother, look at this pup," the crown prince said, holding me up for the king and queen to see. "I think I've found my new companion."
My heart skipped a beat as I heard the crown prince's words. Was it possible? Was I really going to be his companion?
The king spoke "Kaidën what companion do you want? we have been going around the royal safari for days now, and you know that the royal safari took control of 4 counties!"
I trembled slightly in the crown prince's arms as the king's voice boomed through the den. The crown prince looked at me with a hint of hesitation, then back at his father.
"Father, I know we've been searching for a companion for me, but I think I've found the one," Crown Prince Kaidën said, his voice firm. "This little pup with the blue streak on his coat... there's something special about him."
The king raised an eyebrow. "Special? Kaidën, we have the finest creatures from all over the royal safari, including the four counties we've acquired. We have dragons, griffins, and even a phoenix. What makes this pup so special?"
Crown Prince Kaidën looked at me again, and I could sense a deep connection between us. "I'm not sure, Father, but I feel it. This pup is different. And I want him as my companion."
The queen, who had been quiet until now, spoke up. "Ryker, dear, perhaps we should listen to Kaidën. After all, the bond between a companion and their master is not something to be taken lightly."
The king nodded thoughtfully, then looked at Crown Prince Kaidën. "Very well, son. You may have the pup as your companion. But remember, with great power comes great responsibility."
My father, Akir Wolfgar, spoke up, his voice filled with pride. "Your Majesty, I'm honored that Crown Prince Kaidën has chosen my pup as his companion. I assure you, this pup is special, and I'm confident he'll make a fine companion for the crown prince."
He paused, then continued, "However, I must inform you that this pup... he's not like the others. He has a unique marking, the blue streak on his coat, and... he seems to possess a certain wisdom beyond his age."
The king's eyes narrowed, intrigued. "Go on, Akir. What do you mean by 'wisdom beyond his age'?"
My father hesitated, choosing his words carefully. "I've observed that this pup seems to... remember things. Things that he couldn't possibly know. It's as if he has a past life, or a connection to something greater."
The room fell silent, with all eyes on my father. I could sense the weight of his words, and the implications they held. What did it mean, to have a past life? And what connection could I possibly have to something greater?
As I wobbled towards Crown Prince Kaidën, he smiled and knelt down to greet me. I sniffed at his outstretched hand, and he gently stroked my head, scratching behind my ears.
"Hello there, little one," he whispered, his voice warm and soothing. "I'm Kaidën. It's nice to meet you."
I licked his hand, and he chuckled. "I think we're going to get along just fine, don't you?"
As he spoke, I felt a strange sense of calm wash over me. It was as if I had known Kaidën before, and that he was someone I could trust.
The king and queen watched us with warm smiles, and my father nodded in approval. "It seems the two of you have already formed a bond," he said.
Kaidën stood up, scooping me up in his arms once more. "I think we have," he said, looking at me with a sense of wonder. "And I couldn't be happier."
The king spoke, "So what are you going to name him?" Kaidën about to speak, but I spoke bit only Kaidën can hear it,"Kevin!"
Crown Prince Kaidën's eyes widened in surprise as he heard my whispered name. He looked at me with a curious expression, as if to ask, "How did you know that name?"
The king, queen, and my father waited expectantly for Kaidën's response, unaware of the silent conversation between us.
Kaidën smiled, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "I think I'll name him... Kev," he said, his voice loud enough for everyone to hear.
The king and queen nodded in approval, while my father looked at me with a puzzled expression, as if wondering how Kaidën had come up with that name.
I snuggled deeper into Kaidën's arms, feeling a sense of contentment wash over me. It seemed that I had found not only a new home but also a new name, one that connected me to my past life as Kevin.
Kaidën cleared his throat and said, "I'm naming him, Kevin!"
The room fell silent, with all eyes on Crown Prince Kaidën. The king and queen exchanged a surprised glance, while my father's eyes widened in astonishment.
"Kevin?" the king repeated, his voice tinged with curiosity. "That's an... unusual name for a wolf pup."
Kaidën nodded, his expression confident. "I know it's not a traditional name, Father, but I feel it suits him. And... he told me it was his name."
The room erupted into a mixture of gasps and whispers. The queen's eyes sparkled with intrigue. "He told you, Kaidën? How did he communicate with you?"
Kaidën smiled, looking at me with a sense of wonder. "I'm not entirely sure, Mother. But I know that Kevin and I have a special connection. And I'm convinced that he's the perfect companion for me."
My father, Akir Wolfgar, looked at me with a mixture of surprise and curiosity. "Kevin, is that... really your name?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
I looked up at him, trying to convey a sense of confirmation. I couldn't speak, but I hoped that my father would understand.
Kaidën, sensing the tension, spoke up. "Akir, I assure you, Kevin and I have a special bond. And I'm convinced that he's more than just a ordinary wolf pup."
My father's eyes narrowed, as if he was trying to piece together a puzzle. "I see," he said slowly. "Well, if Kevin is indeed his name, then I suppose it's only fitting that he's chosen by the crown prince."
The room fell silent once more, as if everyone was waiting for something to happen next. I, however, felt a sense of relief wash over me. My name was Kevin, and I had found a new family, a new home, and a new purpose.
As the royal family and their companions continued to observe me, I couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and curiosity. I looked up at Kaidën, who was still holding me in his arms, and saw a warm smile on his face.
"I think Kevin here is going to make a fine companion," Kaidën said, looking at his parents.
The king and queen nodded in agreement, and the room erupted into a flurry of activity as the royal family and their companions began to discuss the finer points of training and caring for a young wolf pup like me.
As the commotion died down, I noticed a figure watching me from the sidelines. It was Princess Lyra, the king's sister, and her companions, Lysander the Satyr and Zephyr the Wind Spirit. Princess Lyra's eyes sparkled with interest as she gazed at me, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease under her scrutiny.
"Kaidën, dear nephew," Princess Lyra said, her voice like music, "I think I'll take a closer look at your new companion."
Kaidën nodded, and Princess Lyra glided over to us, her companions following closely behind. As she reached out to touch my fur, I felt a sudden jolt of recognition. There was something about Princess Lyra that seemed familiar, something that stirred a deep memory within me.
The king spoke "well I'm sure Kevin will be the future king companion!"
The room fell silent, with all eyes on the king. Kaidën's eyes widened in surprise, and he looked at me with a mixture of excitement and trepidation.
"Father, are you sure?" Kaidën asked, his voice laced with uncertainty. "I mean, Kevin is still just a pup..."
The king smiled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Ah, but that's where you're wrong, my son. Kevin may be just a pup now, but I sense great potential in him. And besides, it's not just about being a companion. It's about being a partner, a friend, and a confidant. And I think Kevin has the heart of a true king's companion."
The room erupted into a flurry of congratulations and well-wishes, with the royal family and their companions all gathering around to offer their support and encouragement. I, on the other hand, felt a sense of overwhelm wash over me. Being a king's companion? It was a daunting prospect, to say the least.
But as I looked up at Kaidën, I saw the excitement and anticipation in his eyes, and I knew that I was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. After all, I had a feeling that this was just the beginning of an epic adventure.
As the night wore on, the royal family and their companions began to disperse, each returning to their respective quarters. Kaidën, however, lingered, his eyes fixed on me with a thoughtful expression.
"Kevin, I have a feeling that you're going to be an incredible companion," he said, his voice low and serious. "I think you'll help me become a great king one day."
I tilted my head, intrigued by Kaidën's words. What did he mean by a great king? And how could I, a wolf pup, help him achieve that?
As I pondered these questions, Kaidën smiled and scooped me up in his arms once more. "Don't worry, Kevin. We'll figure it out together. For now, let's just enjoy the journey."
And with that, Kaidën carried me off to our quarters, the moonlit castle grounds fading into the distance as we disappeared into the night.
As we walked, the castle's corridors grew quieter, the only sound being the soft clinking of Kaidën's boots on the stone floor. We eventually arrived at a cozy chamber deep within the castle, the room filled with plush cushions, soft blankets, and the warm glow of a crackling fireplace.
Kaidën giggled and set me down on a soft, velvet cushion. "You're the best pup ever, Kevin!" he exclaimed, his eyes shining with excitement.
As we played together, Kaidën told me stories of his favorite games and adventures in the castle. I listened, tail wagging, and enjoyed the playful scratches behind my ears.
As the night wore on, Kaidën's eyelids began to droop. "I'm sleepy, Kevin," he yawned, snuggling into the cushions beside me.
I curled up next to him, feeling happy and content. As we drifted off to sleep, I knew that I was exactly where I belonged – by Kaidën's side.
Suddenly someone wake him up and when Kaidën eyes open it was the king Ryker and his father he change to a sitting position
King Ryker spoke "son just know Kevin belongs to the royal safari that our family members own for centuries, so you must not keep him in the castle too long"
Kaidën's face lit up with understanding, and he nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, Father! I know Kevin belongs to the royal safari. I promise I'll take him back to the safari soon, but can I please keep him with me for just a little while longer? I love having him by my side!"
King Ryker smiled, his eyes warm with affection. "Very well, son. You may keep Kevin with you for a few more days, but don't forget his true home is in the royal safari. Our family's legacy depends on the care and well-being of our majestic creatures, including Kevin."
Kaidën grinned, relieved, and hugged me tightly. "Thank you, Father! I'll make sure to take good care of Kevin and return him to the safari soon."
King Ryker spoke, "and even know Kevin is your companion he still meed to live in the royal safari"
Kaidën nodded understandingly, "Yes, Father. I know Kevin will live in the royal safari, but I can still visit him every day and take him on adventures, right?"
King Ryker smiled, "Exactly, son. As your companion, Kevin will always be a part of your life, but his home will be in the royal safari, where he can roam free and thrive with the other animals."
King Ryker spoke, "You can take him to adventure around the empire, but both you and Kevin are too young, and Kaidën you still haven't learned how to use a sword!"
Kaidën's face fell, and he looked down, his eyes widening with a mix of disappointment and determination. "Yes, Father... I know I still have a lot to learn. But I promise I'll work hard and train every day to become a great warrior and king!"
King Ryker chuckled and ruffled Kaidën's hair. "I have no doubt you will, son. And when the time is right, you and Kevin will have many grand adventures together. But for now, let's focus on your training and education. Your mother, Queen Lirien, and I will ensure you receive the best instruction and guidance."
King Ryker spoke, "Now tomorrow we will give Kevin a collar and a ceremony for your first companion!"
Kaidën's face lit up with excitement, and he jumped up from his seat, his eyes shining with anticipation. "Really, Father?! A ceremony for Kevin?! Oh, thank you!"
King Ryker smiled, pleased with his son's enthusiasm. "Yes, son. Tomorrow, we will hold a grand ceremony to mark the beginning of your bond with Kevin. The collar will symbolize their connection and Kevin's status as your loyal companion."
Kaidën couldn't contain his excitement, and he started bouncing up and down, his laughter echoing through the room. "I'll make sure to take good care of Kevin, Father! I promise!"
King Ryker spoke, "and the ceremony also yours since you have been now in the family tradition!"
Kaidën's eyes widened with pride, and he stood up straight, his chest puffing out. "I'm honored, Father! To be a part of our family's tradition and to have Kevin by my side is a great privilege!"
King Ryker smiled, his eyes shining with pride. "You are now officially a part of our family's legacy, Kaidën. And with Kevin as your companion, I have no doubt that you will make our family proud and carry on our traditions with honor."
As hours passed and it was time to send me back to the royal safari and back to my parents and my 7 younger siblings
As the time came for me to leave, Kaidën hugged me tightly, his eyes shining with a mix of happiness and sadness. "I'll miss you, Kevin! But I'll see you tomorrow at the ceremony, and we'll start our adventures together!"
King Ryker smiled and nodded, his expression warm and kind. "Indeed, Kevin will be back with his family for now, but tomorrow, he'll return to the castle for the ceremony, and then, he'll be by Kaidën's side as his loyal companion."
With one last nuzzle from Kaidën, I was led out of the castle by the royal guards, who escorted me back to the royal safari. As we walked, the sounds of the castle gave way to the calls of the wild animals in the safari, and I caught sight of my parents and siblings waiting for me by the enclosure.
My mother, a beautiful gray wolf, wagged her tail and licked my face, welcoming me back home. My father, a strong and majestic wolf, nuzzled me gently, his eyes shining with warmth. My siblings, all energetic and playful, yelped and jumped around me, eager to hear tales of my adventure in the castle.
I settled in among my family, feeling grateful for the love and warmth they shared with me. But as I drifted off to sleep, I couldn't help but think of Kaidën and the exciting adventures that awaited us tomorrow.
