Chapter 2 - THE CEREMONY

The sun shone brightly on the castle grounds, casting a warm glow over the gathered crowd. Today was the day of the ceremony, marking Kaidën's entry into the family tradition of having a loyal companion. And for me, Kevin, it was a day of great importance, as I would officially become Kaidën's companion.

As I stood by my parents' side in the royal safari, surrounded by my siblings and pack members, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nerves. The royal family, dignitaries, and guests from all over the kingdom had gathered at the safari for this momentous occasion.

Kaidën, dressed in his finest attire, stood proudly beside his parents, King Ryker and Queen Lirien, who had come to the royal safari for the ceremony. His eyes sparkled with excitement as he glanced at me, and I wagged my tail in response.

The ceremony began with a grand procession, led by the royal guards and followed by the royal family. The air was filled with the sweet scent of incense and the soft chanting of the kingdom's priests.

As the procession reached the center of the royal safari, King Ryker stepped forward, his voice booming across the grounds. "Today, we gather to celebrate a sacred tradition, one that has been passed down through generations of our royal family. The bond between a prince and his loyal companion is one of trust, loyalty, and friendship."

Queen Lirien stepped forward, a delicate collar in her hands. "This collar symbolizes the unbreakable bond between Kaidën and Kevin. It is a symbol of their commitment to one another, and to the kingdom they will one day serve."

With a gentle smile, Queen Lirien placed the collar around my neck. I felt a surge of pride and belonging as the crowd erupted in applause.

Kaidën beamed with joy, his eyes shining with excitement. "I promise to always protect and care for you, Kevin. You are my loyal companion, my friend."

I let out a soft bark, sealing our bond, and the crowd cheered once more. The ceremony had come to an end, but the journey of Kaidën and me, Kevin, was only just beginning.

As the Queen placed the collar around my neck, the crowd erupted in applause. King Ryker stepped forward, a warm smile on his face

"Now, let us proceed with the feast and celebration," he declared. "Today, we gather not only to witness the bonding of Kaidën and Kevin but also to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter in their lives."

The crowd cheered, and the royal guards led the procession to the grand pavilion, where a magnificent feast was laid out. The tables were filled with delicious food, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of flowers and incense.

Kaidën and I walked together, side by side, as the guests cheered and applauded. We took our places at the head table, where King Ryker and Queen Lirien waited for us.

The feast began, and the hall was filled with laughter and music. Kaidën and I shared a plate of food, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for this new chapter in our lives.

But the ceremony wasn't over yet. There were still more rituals and traditions to be observed...

As the feast continued, King Ryker stood up, his voice booming across the hall. "It is time for the traditional gift-giving ceremony," he announced.

Queen Lirien smiled, nodding in agreement. "In our kingdom, it is customary for the royal family to present gifts to the new companion, symbolizing our welcome and acceptance of them into our family."

Kaidën grinned, excitedly. "I have a special gift for you, Kevin," he said, holding out a small, elegantly wrapped box.

I wagged my tail, curious, as Kaidën opened the box, revealing a beautiful, shiny tag with my name engraved on it. I barked, delighted, as Kaidën attached the tag to my collar.

The queen smiled, presenting me with a luxurious, plush cushion. "This is for you to rest on, Kevin," she said. "May it bring you comfort and warmth."

The king handed me a beautifully crafted, leather-bound book. "This is a journal, Kevin," he explained. "We hope you will use it to record your adventures and memories with Kaidën."

The guests applauded, cheering, as I accepted the gifts, feeling grateful and honored.

But the ceremony still wasn't over. There was one more tradition to be observed, one that would seal our bond forever...

King Ryker spoke, "That plush cushions is unbreakable and easy to clean, so you can do it what you want for it"

I wagged my tail, excitedly, as King Ryker spoke. I couldn't wait to test out the plush cushion and see just how unbreakable it was. Kaidën chuckled, laughing, as he scratched behind my ears.

"I think Kevin is already planning on putting that cushion to the test, Father," he said, grinning.

King Ryker smiled, amused. "Well, I'm sure it will withstand whatever Kevin has in store for it," he said.

Queen Lirien smiled, adding, "And don't worry, Kevin, the cushion is also enchanted with a spell of cleanliness, so no matter how messy you get, it will always stay clean."

I barked, happily, feeling like the luckiest companion in the kingdom. The ceremony was still ongoing, but I couldn't help but feel grateful for the love and generosity of the royal family...

I test how unbreakable it is

I grabbed the plush cushion in my jaws and started to squeeze it, testing its durability. I shook it back and forth, growling playfully, trying to see if I could rip it apart.

But no matter how hard I tried, the cushion wouldn't budge. It remained intact, its soft fabric resisting my best efforts to tear it.

Kaidën laughed, holding his sides. "I think it's safe to say that the cushion is unbreakable, Kevin!" he exclaimed.

King Ryker and Queen Lirien chuckled, smiling at my antics. "Well, I'm glad to see that the cushion can withstand Kevin's enthusiasm," the king said, amused.

I dropped the cushion, panting happily, and flopped down beside it, feeling satisfied that I had put it through a thorough test. The ceremony continued, but I was already feeling like I was part of the royal family...

King Ryker spoke "son when you are old enough to become an adventurer, I expect you to know how to use a sword or at least any weapon!" He looks at Kaidën his son

Kaidën's eyes widened, and he nodded eagerly, his face set with determination. "I will, Father!" he exclaimed. "I'll practice every day and become the greatest warrior in the kingdom!"

King Ryker smiled, his eyes shining with pride. "I have no doubt that you will, son," he said. "But remember, being a great warrior is not just about wielding a sword. It's about honor, loyalty, and protecting those who cannot defend themselves."

Kaidën nodded again, taking his father's words to heart. I could see the fire of determination burning in his eyes, and I knew that he would stop at nothing to become the greatest warrior he could be.

Queen Lirien placed a hand on Kaidën's shoulder, her voice soft and gentle. "And don't forget, Kaidën, that you will not be alone on your journey. You will have Kevin by your side, your loyal companion and friend."

Kaidën grinned, reaching out to scratch behind my ears. "I wouldn't have it any other way, Mother," he said. "Kevin and I will face whatever adventures come our way, together!"

King Ryker spoke, "Even if you become a king, you can still be an adventurer like me with my wyvern and Kevin father akir!"

Kaidën's eyes widened in excitement as he looked at his father. "Really, Father? You were an adventurer with a wyvern?" he asked, his voice full of awe.

King Ryker chuckled, a faraway look in his eyes. "Yes, son. I had a wyvern named Galenor, and we went on many grand adventures together. And Kevin's father, Atlas, was my loyal companion, just like Kevin will be yours."

I barked, proudly, at the mention of my father's name. Kaidën grinned, scratching behind my ears.

"I want to hear more about your adventures, Father," Kaidën said, his eyes shining with excitement.

King Ryker smiled, settling in to tell a tale of his adventures with Galenor and Atlas. The ceremony had turned into a lively storytelling session, with the whole assembly gathered around, listening with rapt attention...
