Synopsis
Edward Herald's life ended in agony-tortured, bleeding, and alone. No one heard his screams, no one came to save him. But as his final breath left his body, a mysterious light swallowed him and his tormentor whole. He awakens... not as himself, but as a child in an unknown land. The scent of earth, the warmth of the sun, and the sight of monstrous creatures soaring through the sky-this is no ordinary world. And worse, he's thrust into a violent scene, part of a group tormenting another kid. But why? Who is he now? With no memory of this new life, no allies, and dangers lurking in every shadow, Edward must unravel the mystery of his rebirth. Is this a second chance-or a cruel twist of fate? Survival is just the beginning. The truth might be far more terrifying.

Chapter 1 - Chapter — 1: Death

*Screams* "Help!"

*Stab* "Help Me!"*Cut*

*Screams* "Save Me!"

"This is so much fun. Tell me ... it's fun, isn't it?"

"Save me!" *Stab*

"Please!" *Cut*

"It's been awhile since I've had this much fun. Hahaha, you're really tasty."

"You've got this pretty face and this nice body. All men should be like you. I love it."

"Someone!" *Stab*

"My previous toys pale in front of you." *Cut*

Bright light shone from the top of the ceiling as Edward took his last breath. His tormentor faces the ceiling, confused how there was light in a room with only candles. A circle drew itself on the ceiling with strange words and symbols.

As Edward's tormentor witnessed the formation, he shouted, "What the hell is this?" At the same time, another circle drew beneath them. Edward's final breath left his body and as if lightning struck, both of them vanished, leaving faint red sparks.

*Caw* *Caw* *Caw*

In an isolated estate far away from any settlements, in the dead of the night, Edward and his tormentor disappeared from Earth.

As they say, there's light at the end of a tunnel, Edward felt a glimmer of hope at the shining light before his death.

Edward awakens to a violent scene, part of a group tormenting another kid. "But why? Where am I?" Edward questioned himself in a faint voice.

The scent of earth, the warmth of the sun, and the sound of creatures soaring through the sky—this is not the house I was in. Edward stops himself and backs off, startling everyone.

"What was I doing just now?" Edward asked, looking at his hands.

Confused, one of the kids in the crowd questioned, "What? What's wrong with you?"

I lifted my head, looking at the surrounding crowd. Everyone looked startled and scared, aside from the kid who questioned me earlier.

I answered with a question, "Where's this?"

He replied, "Huh? Have you lost it suddenly? You dragged this kid out here, we just followed you."

I looked at the helpless kid on the ground, unable to even stand, and asked, "What did he do wrong?"

He replied, "How would I know. You always play with him."

"Play? This is playing?"

"Hey, you idiots, what are you doing all the way out here?" Said a man from a far behind the kid with whom I was talking to.

At the immediate sight of the kid on the ground, he shouted, "The hell have you done."

All the other kids ran away as the man came over and carried the kid on his arms. Only me and the guy from earlier were left. The man recognized the other guy and, before slapping him, said, "Aren't you Fang's son?"

"And you're that orphan Fang took in last month. Why're you both such troublemakers?" He said while slapping me.

"You're in for it now. This kid's family won't be silent. Look at what you did to him."

"Argh, return to your homes this instant." The man shouted before rushing off with the kid on his back.

"I knew this would've happened. I shouldn't have followed you at all." Said the kid beside me.

"What's wrong with you? Get your ass off the ground, let's go hide somewhere." He added.

"No, we go back home" I said while I got up and walked forward.

"Tch, you don't even want to hide, huh?" He said while following behind.

As my senses got clearer, I realized I was not myself, but a child in this unknown land. My memories are vague and conflicted, but I remember exactly how my former life ended. However, this realization hasn't affected me negatively, I don't think a normal person would be sane realizing their past life. And strangely enough, I knew the way back home in this unknown land.
