"Click"
The sound of a click could be heard from downstairs; Leon knew his parents were home, so he took a quick glance at the skill he just got and headed downstairs.
'Congratulations on getting the skill tier 1 (combat apprentice) passive.'
'Gaining five years' worth of combat experience'
'Do you want to initiate the transfer of experience now?'
'No, not now; do it while I am asleep,' Thinking this in his mind, he reached downstairs; from there, he could see his parents sitting in the living room on his right-hand side, chatting about something.
While they were having a chat, he moved towards the kitchen to prepare two glasses of water and brought them to the living room for his parents.
Handing them a glass of water, Leon asked, "How was your day, Mom, Dad?"
After finishing the glass of water, Martin said, "It was hectic, but I think I am hallucinating now because I can see my son handing me a glass of water. Which had never happened before."
"Is it that shocking that I am handing you a glass of water?" Leon said, turning his head to see his mother's reaction.
"Yes, it is shocking to see that you, who had never done anything like this before, are now treating us like this just because of one nightmare." Claire said while looking at her son.
Just as Leon was going to answer his mother, Martin, having a smirk on his face, interrupted the conversation and said, "If this is the treatment we get just after one nightmare, then I wish you had that nightmare long ago."
Hearing what Martin said, Claire started staring at him coldly and said in a low voice.
"Is this how you talk to your son?" Realizing his mistake, Martin glanced at his wife; he saw his wife staring at him coldly. He shrank back a little and spoke lightly. "It was just a joke, a joke haha ... ha."
Nervously laughing, Martin turned his head in Leon's direction to see if he could diffuse this situation, but to his shock, he saw him smiling lightly.
Predicting that a fight (one-sided) could break out if he didn't resolve this issue quickly, he sighed and started helping his mother to calm down.
"Mom, you do know how he is, right? Don't take it to heart; also, it's getting late, and I am hungry, so can you cook us something?"
Noting how her son looked while he was coaxing her, she calmed down.
"Yes, dear, I will cook something real quick." Commenting, this Claire started approaching the kitchen to cook something.
Leon turning his head towards his father, said with a smirk on his face.
"Yeah, yeah, old man, don't thank me just yet." Catching a glimpse of a smirk on Leon's face, Martin understood that his joke was not over yet.
"Challenge accepted, kid. I will show you who the man of this house is." Having a smile of his own, Martin declared.
After 15 minutes of waiting, dinner was ready, nothing fancy, just some stir-fried rice with chili sauce. Finishing dinner, Leon helped his mother wash some dishes, and then, saying 'good night' to his parents, he went to sleep in his room.

Meanwhile, in a dark underground cave system, a large room was carved out of the stone. In that room the only semblance of light was a few torches at the far end of the room, and in the middle of that room a rectangular table with three chairs on both sides of it could be seen.
At the head of the table, we could see a man sitting on a throne, which was glowing in a soft purplish color.
The man in question sitting on his throne was gazing at something in the dark as if the darkness shrouding the entire surrounding could not stop him from perceiving the truth of this entire world his eyes flickering with cold and murderous intent.
"Did you find it?" A deep and hoarse voice came from the man on the throne.
"No, Your Majesty, we are still searching for that item." A lean man could be seen on his knees and bowing towards the man on the throne.
"Be quick; don't try my patience." Declared the man on the throne and waved his hand. Getting the signal, the lean man walked away.
"How long has it been?" Voicing his thought, he glanced at the back of his hand only to see the tattoo on it. A western dragon's skull pierced by two swords, through his both eyes making a cross sign.

Waking up with the ringing sound in his head, Leon stretched his body and got off the bed. And started walking up to the bathroom.
"You can stop now?" Leon voiced out to no one. After thirty minutes, he came out wearing his tracksuit.
"A new day, a new life, and a new start. Let's go do some daily quests." Announcing this, he set out in the direction of the park.
Reaching the park in twenty minutes. While walking towards the running track, he clenched his hand and said.
"I can feel it; my strength is increasing, not by a large margin, but still it's increasing. Not only my strength but all my other attributes are rising as well, and how can I forget about the skill I got yesterday? It's too awesome." While muttering this, he threw a punch. His stance, his breathing, and his movements were almost perfectly synced as if he had been doing it for years.
If anyone could see Leon right now, they would see that he was covered in a thin golden aura, which was dissipating slowly.
"Now, let's start with the daily quest." Speaking to himself, he started running around the park. While exercising, he asked the system a few questions that had been nagging him since yesterday. "Okay, Stu, tell me what is that tier thing before my skill." Leon named it that because it was pretty much a stupid and downgraded version of Elisa.
'To answer your question, the tier system is as follows:'
'Tier 1 to 3 is a beginner tier power.'
'tier 4 to 6 is an intermediate tier power'
'tier 7 to 9 is an advanced tier power'
'Each individual tier is also divided by low, mid, and high sub-tiers.'
'Your skill (combat apprentice) is a high tier 1 skill, but currently it is kept at low tier 1, and to use its full potential, you have to level it up.'
"And how can I do that?" Leon asked.
'You can level up by using skill points, and to get skill points, you have to level up yourself.' Stu responded.
"Okay, it's easy to understand now. Tell me about how I can contact Elisa." Leon asked you a second question.
'Answer denied.'
Leon was shocked; it was the first time that he had been denied the answer.
"Well I at least tried. Now, last question: tell me about those two wishes that I have. What can I use them for, and where can I use them?"
Leon asked in a slightly angry tone because the third wish was used for nothing; it was lost, and when he asked the system for a refund, he didn't get any reply from the system.
'You can use those wishes for anything, but you cannot use those in quest-related scenarios.'
"Okay, got it now. Let's finish this quest and go home." Leon mumbled under his heavy breathing.
When he reached home, after taking a bath, he started searching for clues about the killer of his parents, but even after searching for 2 hours straight, he couldn't find anything.

Even after searching for several days, Leon still didn't find any clue about the killer. But he didn't neglect his training, and the results are.

"Nice 0.42+ in all attributes feels nice, but I am not strong enough yet. Well, it is what it is; I just need to be patient." Leon absentmindedly walked towards the exit gate of the park.
After finishing his daily quest, he started reminiscing about the past, about how he met his wife Mia, his friend Sam, and some of the only people that truly cared about him in his past life. "Now is not the time for reminiscing about the past; I should start planning for tomorrow's ceremony. And how to gain their trust without sounding like a creep."
Without even realizing he had exited the park and now was walking on the side-walk of a street.
Just as he was about to head home, someone bumped into him, and without even saying sorry, started walking again. "Can't you see a person walking?" Leon turned around to see who bumped into him. He saw a girl being followed by 4 burly men.
Seeing them following a girl, he didn't think it was a good idea to leave now, so he decided to follow them. He kept a distance of around 10 m and followed them without being noticed. The girl in question didn't notice those men following her, nor did she notice him. She seemed to be in a hurry and decided to take a shortcut through an alley she knew was safe.
Just as she reached halfway, she saw the other side was blocked by something. Feeling something amiss, she turned around and saw four men coming towards her; panicking slightly, she dropped her phone, which shattered upon impact.
"What are you doing? Let me through." The girl shouted, trying to catch someone's attention, but before she could shout any further, those men attacked her.
"What is happening here?" This question made everyone pause on the track.
"Was I always this lucky in my previous life as well?" Leon said.
