The grand hall of the Crystal Palace was eerily silent, the opulent chandeliers casting flickering shadows on the marble floor. I, Seraphina, stood at the center, my heart racing as I sensed the tension in the air. What was going on? Why did my best friend, Sarah, and my fiancé, Atlas, look so strange?
"Guys, what's going on?" I asked, my voice trembling. "Why do you both look so... off?"
They exchanged a glance, a silent agreement passing between them. In that moment, my heart sank.
Without warning, Sarah lunged forward, a glint of steel flashing in her hand. The blade pierced my side, and I gasped, the shock of betrayal cutting deeper than the knife itself.
"Sarah, how could you?" I whispered, my eyes wide with horror.
Atlas joined in, his face a mask of cold determination. They stabbed me again and again, each blow a brutal reminder of their treachery.
As I fell to my knees, the world around me blurred. I could hear the distant echoes of my father's voice, the laughter of my family, and the warmth of the kingdom I had loved so dearly.
But now, all that remained was the chilling realization of my fate. The very people I had considered family were the architects of my demise.
"Sarah, we've been friends since birth," I whispered, my voice barely audible. "We shared everything. How could you do this to me?"
Sarah's eyes flashed with anger. "You were always so selfish, Seraphina," she spat. "You never cared about anyone but yourself."
I felt a surge of pain and betrayal. "That's not true," I whispered. "I loved you like a sister."
Atlas sneered. "You were just a means to an end, Seraphina. A pawn in our game of power."
I felt my strength waning, my vision dimming. I could see the twisted satisfaction in their eyes, the way they reveled in their victory.
As I gasped for breath, the realization struck me: they had not only betrayed me but had also betrayed the very essence of love and friendship.
"Please," I whispered, my voice barely audible. "Just end it. I'm tired."
Sarah's eyes flashed with cruelty. "Oh, we're just getting started," she said, her voice dripping with malice.
And with that, they stabbed me again, the pain and betrayal washing over me like a tidal wave.
I'm not sure how much more I can take.
