-Chapter 07-
"Impossible! How did he do that? Even a grand tier with super strength would have difficulty destroying my sphere. That means he is above the grand tier, but he looks so young." Jil, the bulky boy, had a look of disbelief as he stared at the sphere that gradually dispersed into dust particles
Ability-related items are items that are usually related to one's ability. Ability falls into 4 categories: item, beast, physical, and cognitive.
And those spheres fall under item type. Although they looked like ordinary spheres, they were specially made from Jil's ability, making them almost impossible to destroy unless by a higher tier than the ability user.
It was a simple ordinance. The higher your tier, the stronger your item.
And other than the item ability user, who else would know the amount of force it would take to break their item?
'He broke my spheres, so what? There are seven of us and one of him, we could still trash him." Jil Concluded after thinking about it.
Jil wanted to speak again when he saw something headed his way.
Noah threw whatever was left of the sphere at Jil.
It was only a casual throw, yet it packed enough force to send Jil flying backward across the pitch.
"Arghhh"
Jil exclaimed in pain after the unexpected hit. He held his nose, which had blood spewing out like a fountain.
"You good for nothing, bastard. I'd destroy you." He spoke while holding his nose.
"puny. You're not worth my time." Noah said as he moved to the left and proceeded to walk forward.
Noah continued to walk on the path.
The remaining six with fearful faces did not try to stop him.
"You cocky brat, get back here!" Jil, with his hands still on his nose, dashed towards Noah from behind.
A ring of spheres appeared around his wrist as he swung a fist at Noah from the back.
Noah was walking like he didn't even know a fist was headed for him from behind.
Just when the fist was a few centimeters away from touching the back of his head, Noah suddenly sidestepped.
The fist hit nothing but air, missing Noah by a large margin.
The student didn't back down as he threw his fist one more time, aiming for Noah's face. But Noah caught his fist with ease.
The boy tried to free himself, but his attempt was futile. Noah's grip was incredibly robust, like an unmovable mountain. But still, the student didn't slack behind as he threw his left hand, which had the same spheres encircling his wrist, but this time they were bigger.
This time, it was obvious it was a more powerful attack.
Noah, who had a neutral expression all this while, suddenly lifted his left hand and executed a lightning-fast palm strike right at the boy's chest.
The boy seeing this attack knew it outpowered his attack by a huge margin, and if he was hit, it could be lethal, but due to his fist acceleration, it was too late to stop his attack and defend himself.
Immediately the palm touched his chest, blood gushed out of his mouth as he got blasted through the air and straight into a stone pillar, causing it to crumble to pieces.
The attack was so fast that it only took a second to be carried out.
"anyone else." Noah turned behind him, and the remaining six students flinched subconsciously and stepped back. "Just as I thought, puny."
Noah looked away and began to walk forward, going through the hall path.
"Did you see what just happened?" a boy exclaimed with his hands shaking.
"We're not blind, you know. We saw what happened. It only took that boy seconds to take down Jil Tornos, someone who six of us couldn't even beat." Another student voiced out the other's thoughts.
A boy quickly regained his composure after not feeling Noah's presence. He dashed towards the crumbled pillars, and when the dust started to settle, an unconscious Jill could be seen bleeding out of his head.
Thankfully, the boys could see Jil breathing, so at least they knew he wasn't dead yet, but with this level of injury, he could probably bleed to death.
"Eh guys, come help me out, Jil's in critical condition. We need to get him to the school doctor," the boy said.
A boy then lifted Jil with both his hands, and surprisingly, he was lighter than he thought.
"Good heavens, he did not just beat Jil, he trashed Jil. Who in the world is that boy? I don't recognize him at all. If he's that strong, he should be well-known around the school, but we've never seen or heard of him before. But why?"
As the boys headed to the doctor's office, they couldn't stop talking about what had just happened.
_____
While the boys walked down the hallway, they got quite a few looks from the other students.
It wasn't strange to see someone carry an injured person in school, but it was strange for a group of students to carry one student, especially when almost all of them had some cuts on their skin.
Finally, the boys had reached the infirmary, but only the boy carrying Jil walked in, while the remaining five waited outside. Inside the infirmary, there was a single male doctor named Pedro, who looked to be in his early thirties.
He gelled his hair backward, giving the impression of an old-school style. With his chiseled jaw and pure blue eyes, this was a perfect portrayal of a handsome fellow.
"another one? Pedro said, "There's a bed free at the back, take him over there."
The boy did as he was told and gently placed Jil on one of the single beds on the back.
The infirmary was quite large, it wasn't normal for a school infirmary to be so big. There were a total of 50 beds, with Pedro being the only one working there.
At the moment, about half the beds were filled with students with cuts and bruises, but nothing as severe as Jil's. Everyone got into their own fight and disagreement, the school wasn't always peaceful.
Pedro came over to where Jil was and started to examine Jil. He placed his hand around Jil's wrist and did a few other checks. That's when he noticed a palm imprint on his chest.
"What happened here? A lot of his bones were seriously fractured." Pedro asked
"We were at the field training, but a friend of ours took things a little too seriously," the boy replied.
"A little too seriously? You stubborn brats never listen. It's to prevent accidents like this, that's why combat rooms were made in the first place. You all know the consequences of killing someone, right? A lifetime behind bars." Pedro said, "Everyone only gets one life, and this school wouldn't want to be the one to take that away from its students. The school's reputation is beneficial for everyone, including you mindless brats."
Pedro placed his hand on Jil's chest, where the palm imprint was.
He closed his eyes and, after a few seconds, lifted his hands, and the imprint had vanished, but not completely, there was still a scar left behind.
"What a shame, having such a nasty scar at such an early time of your life," Pedro commented and brought out a medical notepad and a pen, jolting down something. "Okay, what's the name of this Your friend?"
"Oh, his name is Jil Tornos," the boy replied.
Pedro jolted the name down.
"What about your friend who did this? What's his name?" Pedro asked
The boy suddenly felt his tongue clipped. What was he supposed to do now? He didn't even know the boy's name, so how was he supposed to give a report? And even if he did know the boy's name, he was too afraid to say it for fear of the boy coming after him too.
"Don't even bother covering for your friend, because if you did, you'd be getting the punishment instead, and we'd still find this friend of yours and punish him too. So who is it?"
The boy was already sweating and couldn't stop his hands from shaking.
Even if he wanted to, he couldn't because the real culprit's identity was still a mystery, and if he were to tell Doctor Pedro that, he'd definitely not believe him and would take it as a cover-up and get punished anyway. And punishment from the school authorities was no joke.
'Oh, fuck it, I'm not the only one going down' The boy took a deep breath and continued, "Their names are..."
