Chapter 10 - Big families

-Chapter 10-

The big families, as their name suggested, were a collection of individuals that had what is commonly referred to as a hereditary ability. However, the big families were also the most influential and powerful group on the planet.

Their distinct ability and gene potential distinguished them from other ability users. And the Wallfires, one of the big families, took great pride in their illustrious history.

All members of the Wallfire family had a reputation for being destructive. Because of this, they were famously known as "bringers of mayhem."

Although Blossom's ability was strong and she was considered one of the strongest in school, she couldn't say the same about her family.

They were members who had way more powerful abilities and She was nothing compared to them.

"You're threatening me!" Blossom said, looking at Noah's brown eyes that seemed to extend into an abyss of nothingness. He looked like someone who didn't have anything to lose even if he were to die. But it didn't change anything.

The anger in her stomach clouded her judgment.

"You don't fear me? Do you take me as a joke? I didn't train so hard all my life to be humiliated by a bastard like you."

Like every ability user, descendants of the big families had to train too. Nothing comes for free in this world. But the difference was that the family would help nurture these future generations.

But this aid was only temporary. If your potential was to be noticed by the family heads, then you could be nurtured extensively, but only a select few would get this offer.

Blossom being one of those temporarily nurtured descendants made her want to prove herself, which made her obsessed with her family's reputation.

"You can't amount to what I can do, a nobody like you dares threaten me," Blossom roared, and the veins on her neck bulged out even more, looking like they could burst out at any moment.

Her eyes were filled with bloodlust, and her aura rose, increasing the temperature to another 250 degrees. Causing everyone to step back due to the slight discomfort in the air.

And with her hand covered in flames, she sent a punch toward Noah's face. But before the fist was to hit Noah, a strong flame shot out from her elbow, giving it an extra boost.

Her fist sliced through the air like a hot knife against butter.

The Wallfires had the ability to create flames. For example, Blossom, who had a flame-related ability called blazing skin, could produce fire from any part of her body.

The clothes she was wearing were specially made by her family, so they wouldn't burn away, but only to a certain temperature increase, if they were to go above the limit of the fabric, they were likely to burn off.

Making her unable to use her abilities to the fullest.

"Fear me!"

The fist reached Noah's face in an instant.

A booming sound reverberated around the whole room, and what came next was a loud, piercing scream.

Everyone gasped in shock as their eyes widened in disbelief, as the scene before them was incomprehensible.

Blossom could be seen tossing from side to side on the floor, wailing in pain. Her hand was bent backward in an unsettling way. Her face was all tensed up as she held onto her hand, trying to endure the severe pain.

"My hand! I can't feel my hand."

While Blossom cried out in discomfort, some students took out their cell phones and took pictures, seizing this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

At the other end, Noah stood calmly, not batting an eyelid at the injured blossom, but instead staring at the door, where a figure could be seen standing with folded hands.

While the students were too busy ostracizing bBlossom the first one to approach was Mary.

"You'd be okay, let's just get you to the infirmary, and you'd be fine." Mary knelt and comforted Blossom with her words. "What's wrong with all of you? Are you sure you're all seniors? Someone is badly injured, and all you can do is take pictures. Unbelievable."

She pulled Blossom's left arm up, over her shoulder and was ready to take her away.

"No, she should stay put." The figure's heels echoed around the room as she walked past the crowd of students and stood right in front of Noah. She was none other than Mrs. Anna. The class teacher

Everyone was so busy focusing on blossom that they failed to notice a green human-sized dorm around Noah dissipating into the atmosphere.

"What did you think? Just because you're a wallfire, you think you can just come into my classroom on my period and cause an uproar while I stand and watch! I'm no pushover like the other teachers. I fear no man." Mrs. Anna declared her voice as collected as a mountain.

Earlier, before Blossom's fist could connect with Noah's face, a green barrier appeared instantly, causing her fist to hit the hard barrier instead.

Everyone had seen this and knew whose ability it was, so they weren't surprised, they were only surprised because this was the first time they had seen Blossom in such a sorry state.

"What are you talking about? She's badly hurt, she needs treatment immediately, and you're telling me to stay here. What sort of mindset is that? That's ludicrous." Mary had a dispute with Mrs. Anna, and without giving a care in the world, she decided to ignore Mrs. Anna's words and take Blossom anyway.

She attempted to step forward, but she soon noticed she couldn't move, her feet were as heavy as lead, and it was even harder to move her body. "I can't move."

"Stay put, sweetheart, she would get taken to the infirmary but on my command." Mrs. Anna said, her eyes glowing indigo. All this time, her gaze hadn't drifted away from Noah's position. "Noah, are you okay?"

Noah's face, for the first time, had a slight expression on it. He pulled his brows together in a frown.

"Why?" Noah asked.

Mrs. Anna rubbed her chin in confusion.

"What do you mean by why?" Mrs. Anna asked

"Why did you save me? I clearly could have taken her out myself." Noah answered, "And yet you shielded me, why?"

"You ungrateful brat," Mrs. Anna hissed, "if you had engaged, you would have gotten yourself in a lot of trouble, and I would have to reap the consequences alongside you, so just shut up and sit down."

"Hey, you." Mrs. Anna pointed at a boy by the corner.

"Yes, ma'am," the boy answered, respectively.

"Take that Wallfire kid out of my class, Anderson, you go nowhere. You probably don't know the infirmary yet. So you stay here and learn.

As instructed, the boy carried Blossom out of the class on his back without resistance. Mary, hesitant but powerless, could do nothing but settle down quietly.

"So, blossom, you're back, but not so hyperactive this time." Pedro laughed at the situation that unfolded before him.

Pedro often mocked students who got injured in the most ridiculous way possible. He often did this as he was left on his own a lot of the time, being the only doctor stationed in the school. It was a lonely job, and it was better to get some pleasure out of it.

Blossom had been brought in a few minutes ago and fixed up right after, her hand was wrapped in bandages, completely straight at the moment.

"I warned you, but you just ignored it. Did you really think you could get away with hurting one of Anna's students without consequence? You're just laughable." Pedro said, wiping a drop of tear from his eyelid as he laughed like a maniac.

"Enough with the mockery. That bastard just got lucky this time. I must redeem myself, or else I won't be worthy of bearing the surname as that of my forefathers. Next time I see him, he'll regret ever crossing paths with me." Blossom gnashed her teeth so hard that they could crack.

"Do you really have to die before you understand the situation? Oh well, good for you, but don't come crawling back seeking healing." Pedro said. he left the room and came back a few moments later with a glass of green liquid. "Here, drink this. Your arm will recover in three hours."

Blossom took the glass and gulped down the medicine as though drinking orange juice.

"Thank you, Doc, I will be on my way now," Blossom said she was getting ready to leave, but Pedro held onto her shoulder and shoved her back down.

"Where do you think you're going?" Pedro said it seriously, his voice deeper than usual. "Nice try, but you know the drill, you're not going anywhere until you're fully healed. I will notify the teacher that you won't be attending classes for the next three hours."

Seeing Pedro frown so hard meant he took his job very seriously and wouldn't allow an injured student to roam around.

Even if she were to use force, there was no doubt he wouldn't even bulge. And with no other choice, she decided to wait for the next three hours to pass.

"Watch out, Noah Galva, your school life is officially over." Blossom scowled.
