Man-shik PD stared at the young man in front of him. He seemed more handsome than his initial impression.
He was still not the type that would capture your attention on the street. However, after seeing him act like such a realistic drunk guy, the director felt that the young man's attractiveness had increased.
"You're not going to rip me off for my labor, are you?"
The assistant director watched the scene on his toes. How could this beggar speak to Man-shik PD in such a way! He was expecting him to get scolded, but a chuckle escaped Man-shik's lips instead.
Then, he pulled out his wallet and brought out the 200,000 KRW he had promised. Zeno counted the money as the director brought it out.
Man-shik PD was about to place the money on Zeno's palm, but he retracted his hand at the very last second. Zeno frowned, making the older man chuckle once more.
"He seems awfully happy," Daniel muttered to himself, still embarrassed about his conversation with the beggar.
"I thought you wouldn't do a good job because you barely read the script," Man-shik said.
"However, you did much better than I expected. Do you have any background in acting?"
Zeno shook his head. "No. Now, please, could you give me the money?"
Those listening to their conversation began speculating. Daniel, too, couldn't believe it was his first time acting. If that was the case, then he would have lost for the third time. How could he be flustered by a first-time actor?
However, the strange guy's next words made him smirk.
"I have experience with the role given," Zeno vaguely said.
Man-shik's eyebrows raised in surprise. Meanwhile, the staff members began chuckling among themselves.
"So, that's what it is. He was a drunkard before."
"I almost believed he was a good actor."
"I thought he was cool when he told Daniel off. It turns out he's just familiar with drunkenness."
"Well, at least we were lucky with the casting. Now, we can all go home!"
Amidst their suppositions, Man-shik PD was a little bit skeptical. "Is that so?" he muttered. He had a feeling there was something more to what this young man said. Even if he had experienced being a drunkard before, that doesn't explain how comfortable he felt in front of the cameras.
Zeno held out his hand once more. "The money, please."
"Ah, right," Man-shik muttered, handing him the bills. With a straight face, Zeno bowed his head.
He was about to walk away, but Man-shik called for him again.
"Wait," he said. Zeno turned around to see what the director needed now. However, another person interrupted their conversation.
"There you are!"
Just then, Zeno felt someone's arm wrap around his shoulder. It was a buff man wearing a singlet and a cotton headband. Zeno assumed a fighting stance and pushed the guy away.
"I only turned away to buy some new gear, and you disappeared," he said, shaking his head.
Then, the buff guy looked around the set before letting out an exaggerated gasp.
"Omo! Did my friend interrupt your filming? I'm so sorry," he said, bowing multiple times.
"He's not right in the head these days after being discharged from the military. I'll take him away now."
"What the—" Zeno began, but he was quickly dragged away by the buff stranger. He tried to pull himself back, but this guy was even stronger than he looked.
However, after a couple of meters, just as they were out of the vicinity of the filming set, Zeno managed to break away from his hold.
"Who are you?" he demanded.
The buff guy suddenly pouted, and he made his eyes so wide that Zeno looked at him with horror.
"You forgot again?" he said, twisting his body like a snake. "I've already introduced myself this morning! I knew the army doctor said you've been having some issues, but I didn't think it was this serious."
"Well, since you are my dearest friend, I shall introduce myself to you again. My name is Doha!" he said, his deep voice somehow resembling Sailor Moon.
"Do as in DoReMi, and Ha as in Hahaha!" he chuckled.
"Oh goodness," Zeno muttered, taking a step back. This lunatic was his friend?
"Now, let's go!" Doha exclaimed, holding onto Zeno's wrist.
"Where are you taking me?" Zeno demanded.
"Where else?" Doha giggled. "To our place, of course."
"OUR place?" Zeno asked, not believing his ears.
Doha smirked, even winking at Zeno in the process.
"Our place," he repeated.
