Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Sweeping the Battlefield

After returning to the orphanage, Lukas was greeted by a worried Mia. Her large, innocent eyes reflected her concern as she hurried to him.

"Brother Lukas, how did it go? Did you manage to get the Divine Awakening Stone back from the Greyson Family?" she asked anxiously.

Lukas shook his head, recounting the events at the Greyson estate earlier that day.

Hearing his story, Mia face flushed with anger. She stepped closer and gently touched the faint bruise on his face. "How could they do this to you? It's so unfair! Does it still hurt?"

Lukas felt a warmth in his heart at her concern. "Don't worry, I'm fine," he said softly. "When I step into the Battlefield of Eternal Races, I'll make them regret their decision."

"I believe you," Mia said, her eyes sparkling with unwavering confidence in him.

The time finally arrived. Everyone across the Solaris Nation who had turned 18 that year was teleported to the Novice World of the Battlefield of Eternal Races.

When Lukas opened his eyes, he found himself standing in a familiar scene—a small wooden hut surrounded by dense woods. The distant growls of beasts echoed from the forest.

"This is exactly the same as last time," Lukas muttered, memories of his previous life flooding back.

At that moment, a series of notifications appeared in his mind:

[Ding! Congratulations to newcomer Lukas for entering the Novice World.]

[You are currently in Novice Village No. 18, Area 92.]

[During the seven-day novice period, death is temporary. However, you will lose all levels and attribute points gained.]

[Please select your in-game ID.]

Without hesitation, Lukas typed: Wraith.

[Ding! ID selected successfully. Good luck, Wraith.]

The notification vanished, replaced by a glowing status panel:

[Player Stats]

ID: Wraith

Level: 0 (0%)

Attack: 12+10

Defense: 8

Agility: 10

Mana: 100/100

Health: 100/100

Talent: C-Rank

Talent: Mana Recovery (1% regeneration per second)

Main God Talent: Gain ten times the attribute points upon leveling up.

Skills: None

Equipment: Novice Knife (Basic)

Status: None

Free Attribute Points: None

The stats were almost identical to his previous life—except for the addition of his Main God Talent. A grin crept onto Lukas's face.

"It's time to rewrite my story."

...

Wasting no time, Lukas left the wooden cabin and headed to the central square of Novice Village No. 18. The square was bustling with activity as newly arrived players scrambled to accept quests from NPCs.

Knowing the importance of early missions, Lukas immediately approached an old village doctor with a quest to rescue his daughter. He remembered from his past life that completing this quest would grant a green-tier weapon that boosted attack power by 300 points.

[Mission: Rescue the old doctor's daughter from Black Moon Canyon.]

[Reward: Green Sophisticated Weapon.]

Without hesitation, Lukas accepted the quest and made his way out of the village.

At the entrance to Black Moon Canyon, Lukas spotted his targets—a pack of wolf demons prowling near the canyon's edge. Their sharp fangs glistened as they growled and began to approach him.

[Wolf Demon (Level 1)]

Attack: 12

Defense: 6

Agility: 12

Health: 100

Drawing his novice knife, Lukas advanced cautiously. His combat experience from his previous life surged to the forefront. Back then, he had relied on sheer skill to survive due to his lack of talent. This time, he was ready to dominate.

The first wolf demon lunged at him, leaping into the air with its jaws wide open. Lukas sidestepped the attack effortlessly and swung his knife, slicing deep into its abdomen.

—16!

A crimson number appeared above the wolf demon's head. Lukas smirked as he calculated the damage. His 22 attack power minus the wolf demon's 6 defense resulted in a clean 16 points of damage.

The injured wolf snarled and backed off, circling to attack from behind. Meanwhile, two more wolf demons flanked Lukas from the sides, closing in for a coordinated strike.

Lukas pivoted sharply, slashing his knife in a wide arc. The blade cut across both wolves' backs, leaving deep gashes.

—16!

—16!

More wolf demons emerged from the pack, drawn by the commotion. Lukas's eyes gleamed with excitement. "Perfect. This will make things faster."

The wolves lunged at him in waves, but Lukas dodged and counterattacked with precision. Every move was calculated, every strike lethal. Red numbers floated in the air as he carved through the pack:

—16!

—16!

—16!

The battlefield soon became a bloodbath. Within half an hour, more than a hundred wolf demons lay slain at Lukas's feet.

[Ding! You have killed a Level 1 Wolf Demon. Gain 10 experience points.]

The notifications flooded in until Lukas's experience bar reached 100%.

[Ding! Congratulations on reaching Level 1. Gain 100 free attribute points.]

[Ding! Main God Talent activated. Gain ten times the attribute points: 1000 points.]

Lukas couldn't suppress his grin. "A thousand points from just one level? This is going to be fun."

Without hesitation, Lukas distributed the points evenly across his five attributes.

[Attack: +200]

[Defense: +200]

[Agility: +200]

[Mana: +2000]

[Health: +2000]

Clenching his fists, Lukas felt the surge of power coursing through his body. He glanced at the remaining wolf demons still prowling in the distance.

"Now, let's see how much stronger I've really become."

After redistributing his newfound 1,000 attribute points evenly across his stats, Lukas glanced at his updated five-dimensional attributes:

[Player Stats]

Attack: 212+10

Defense: 208

Agility: 210

Mana: 2100/2100

Health: 2100/2100

Lukas couldn't help but smile with satisfaction. His stats were leagues ahead of other players at the same level, thanks to his Main God Talent. With every level up, his advantage would only grow larger, leaving others hopelessly behind.

At that moment, the ground seemed to rumble slightly as a figure emerged from the shadows of Black Moon Canyon.

[Wolf King: Level 3]

Attack: 132

Defense: 126

Agility: 132

Health: 140,000

The Wolf King stood tall, its silver-gray fur bristling with primal energy. Its menacing eyes locked onto Lukas, and it let out a thunderous howl that echoed through the canyon, sending chills down the spines of weaker challengers.

For a typical level 1 newcomer, this boss was an insurmountable wall. With only 100 attribute points to distribute per level, most players wouldn't even be able to scratch its defense.

But Lukas wasn't a typical player.

The Wolf King snarled and charged, its claws gleaming as it lunged at Lukas with terrifying speed.

Standing his ground, Lukas didn't even flinch. With his defense of 208, the Wolf King's attack of 132 couldn't even break through his skin. He raised his novice knife and slashed as the beast leapt at him.

The blade sliced deep into the Wolf King's chest, leaving a massive wound that exposed the bone beneath its thick fur. Blood sprayed across the ground as a red damage number appeared above the Wolf King's head:

—74!

The beast staggered back, growling in pain. Lukas wasted no time and surged forward, pressing the attack. His agility of 210 far outmatched the Wolf King's 132, allowing him to outmaneuver the creature with ease.

One slash after another landed on the Wolf King's body:

—74!

—74!

—74!

The canyon echoed with the clash of claws and blade. Lukas's strikes were relentless, and although the Wolf King fought back fiercely, its attacks were utterly ineffective against his overwhelming defense.

Half an hour later, Lukas landed the final blow.

The massive beast let out a pained howl before collapsing to the ground in a pool of its own blood. Its towering figure lay still, and a notification appeared in Lukas's mind:

[Ding! You have slain the Level 3 Boss Wolf King. Gain 3,000 experience points.]

[Ding! Congratulations, you have reached Level 2. Gain 200 free attribute points.]

[Ding! Main God Talent activated. Gain ten times the attribute points: 2,000 points.]

Lukas grinned. Slaying the boss had boosted him to level 2, granting him another massive boost in attribute points. Without hesitation, he once again distributed the points evenly across all five dimensions, adding 400 to each.

His updated stats now read:

[Player Stats]

Attack: 612+10

Defense: 608

Agility: 610

Mana: 4100/4100

Health: 4100/4100

His stats were nothing short of monstrous. Compared to his peers, who would have around 40 points in each dimension at level 2, Lukas was a force of nature.

He looked down at the Wolf King's corpse and noticed something glinting beside it—a piece of equipment the boss had dropped.

Picking it up, he inspected the item:

[Wolf King's Leather Armor: White Tier]

Type: Armor

Effect: Increases defense by 20 points.

Though it was only a basic piece of gear, Lukas wasn't one to waste an opportunity. He equipped the armor, adding an extra layer of defense to his already staggering stats.

"Not bad," he muttered. "Let's see what's deeper in this canyon."

...

As Lukas continued his journey, unaware of the commotion he had caused, a global announcement appeared across the novice world:

[Ding! Congratulations to newcomer Wraith for achieving the first kill on the Level 3 Boss Wolf King. Reward: 1,000 free attribute points.]

The announcement sent shockwaves through the Novice World of the Battlefield of Eternal Races, where over a billion new players from the Solaris Nation and other countries had been teleported.

The chat channels exploded with activity:

"Who the hell is Wraith? A first kill on a Level 3 boss already? I'm still trying to kill boars!"

"Damn, that's insane! He must've awakened a god-tier talent. No way a normal player could do that."

"We need to speed up! This guy's already ahead by a mile. If he keeps this up, the rest of us won't stand a chance after the novice period ends."

...

Meanwhile, in the Solaris Military Command, analysts scrambled to verify the identity of this mysterious player.

"Unbelievable," one officer muttered. "Last year's record for the first Level 3 boss kill was three hours after entering the novice world. That player had a god-tier talent and was hailed as a genius. Wraith did it in under one hour."

Another officer chimed in, "This ID sounds like it belongs to one of ours. If that's the case, Solaris Nation might have a future champion on our hands."

But not everyone was celebrating. In military rooms across rival nations, whispers of Wraith's accomplishments carried a more sinister tone.

"Find out who this Wraith is," one official ordered. "If they belong to Solaris Nation, either recruit them… or eliminate them before they become unstoppable."

...

Back in the Solaris Nation, at the Greyson Family estate, the news of the first boss kill reached the household.

"This has to be Cain," declared Marcus Greyson, the head of the family. "Only he, with his dual god-tier talents, could achieve such a feat in such a short time."

"Yes," agreed his wife, Julia. "Cain is destined to elevate the Greyson Family to new heights. This proves we were right to give him the Divine Awakening Stone instead of Lukas."

The Greyson elders nodded in agreement, congratulating themselves on their wise decision.

Meanwhile, Cain himself was still fighting Level 2 monsters in the wilderness. Hearing the world announcement, his expression darkened.

"Who's Wraith?" he muttered. "How did they manage to kill a boss so quickly?"

Despite his talents, even Cain knew it would take him at least another two hours to reach Level 3 and challenge a boss. Whoever Wraith was, they had achieved something extraordinary.

...

Unbothered by the chaos he had caused, Lukas stood at the edge of Black Moon Canyon, his confidence soaring.

"With this talent," he said to himself, "when the novice period ends, no one in the Battlefield of Eternal Races will be my equal."
