Chapter 3 - Overwhelming Power at Level 3

Unaware of the chaos his actions had caused across the battlefield, Lukas pressed on in Black Moon Canyon. He quickly located the old doctor's daughter, who was unharmed but visibly shaken. Without wasting any time, Lukas escorted her safely back to Novice Village No. 18.

When they arrived at the square, the old doctor ran up, his face alight with relief. After ensuring his daughter was uninjured, he turned to Lukas with deep gratitude.

"Adventurer, you've done more than I could have ever asked for. Please, take this as a reward for your bravery."

The old doctor handed Lukas a weapon, its blade gleaming with a faint chill.

[Ding! Mission Complete: Rescue the Doctor's Daughter. Reward: Green-Tier Weapon ×1]

Inspecting the item, Lukas couldn't help but smile.

[Cold Iron Blade: Green-Tier]

Type: Weapon Effect: Increases attack by 300 points.

The weapon system in the novice world divided items into seven tiers: White (Common), Green (Fine), Blue (Superior), Purple (Perfect), Orange (Epic), Gold (Legendary), and Red (Mythic). A green-tier weapon at this stage was a significant advantage.

Equipping the Cold Iron Blade, Lukas felt a surge in his strength. With this weapon in hand, no monster below level 5 in the nearby wilderness could pose a threat to him. The early game grind would now become exponentially faster.

...

Turning away from the old doctor, Lukas made his way to the village chief, another key NPC. The chief nodded as Lukas approached.

"Brave adventurer," the village chief began, "I saw your courage in rescuing the doctor's daughter. I need your help again. The wild boars on the mountain have become increasingly aggressive, destroying the village's crops. Can you help us cull their numbers?"

A task window popped up in front of Lukas.

[Mission: Cull the Wild Boars]

[Description:] Hunt wild boars that have been damaging the village crops. Bring back their tusks as proof. Five tusks can be exchanged for one free attribute point. Maximum exchange: 500 tusks.

[Bonus Objective:] If you defeat more than 500 wild boars, you may trigger the hidden boss: Wild Boar King.

Without hesitation, Lukas accepted the quest. He knew about the hidden boss from his previous life. Defeating it would yield a skill book—something incredibly rare in the novice world.

...

After leaving the village, Lukas quickly found a field overrun by wild boars.

[Wild Boar: Level 2]

Attack: 81

Defense: 69

Agility: 60

Health: 700

Though stronger than the wolf demons he had faced earlier, the wild boars were no match for Lukas. Before engaging, he distributed the 1,600 free attribute points he had earned from the various first-kill rewards.

He added 320 points to each of his five dimensions, and with the Cold Iron Blade equipped, his updated stats now read:

[Player Stats]

Attack: 932+300

Defense: 925+20

Agility: 932

Mana: 9,300

Health: 9,300

His overwhelming stats made him a force of nature. At this point, Lukas had decided to pursue a balanced, "six-dimensional warrior" build, ensuring no weaknesses in his attack, defense, speed, health, or mana. With ten times the attribute points per level, he could afford to be versatile.

...

As Lukas approached, the wild boars turned their attention to him. The lead boar, a massive creature with sharp tusks, charged directly at him.

Lukas sidestepped the charge with ease. As the boar passed, he swung his Cold Iron Blade in a powerful arc. The blade cut cleanly through the boar's midsection, severing its body in two. Blood and entrails spilled onto the ground as a red damage number appeared above the boar's head:

—1,163!

The boar's defenses of 69 were laughable compared to Lukas's attack of over 1,200. It didn't stand a chance.

[Ding! You have slain a Level 2 Wild Boar. Gain 20 experience points.]

The boar dropped a single tusk, which Lukas picked up before turning his attention to the rest of the herd.

The remaining boars roared in anger and began charging at him one by one, but they were no match. Each swing of Lukas's blade brought another beast down, the sound of the carnage echoing across the field.

[Ding! You have slain a Level 2 Wild Boar. Gain 20 experience points.]

[Ding! You have slain a Level 2 Wild Boar. Gain 20 experience points.]

The boars fell like wheat before a scythe, and Lukas's movements became almost mechanical. Each swing of his blade was precise, lethal, and efficient.

...

After slaughtering over a hundred wild boars, Lukas received another notification.

[Ding! Congratulations, you have reached Level 3. Gain 300 free attribute points.]

[Ding! Main God Talent activated. Gain ten times the attribute points: 3,000 points.]

Reaching Level 3 had pushed Lukas into a new tier of power. However, he chose not to allocate his newly earned points just yet. Instead, he continued hunting, aiming to surpass the 500-kill mark and trigger the hidden boss.

...

Eventually, the wild boar herd began to thin out. The field was littered with corpses, and Lukas had gathered over 500 tusks. Just as he expected, the ground began to shake as a massive figure emerged from the forest.

[Wild Boar King: Level 5]

Attack: 400

Defense: 380

Agility: 350

Health: 50,000

The Wild Boar King towered over its smaller counterparts, its tusks gleaming like polished ivory. For most players, this boss would have been an impossible challenge. But for Lukas, it was just another step on his journey to dominance.

The beast roared and charged at Lukas with incredible speed. However, with his agility of over 900, Lukas easily sidestepped the attack and countered with a devastating slash. His blade carved a deep gash into the boss's side, and a massive damage number floated above its head:

—1,552!

The Wild Boar King bellowed in pain, its health bar dropping rapidly as Lukas unleashed a relentless series of attacks. His superior stats and combat experience left the boss no room to retaliate.

...

After a grueling ten minutes, the Wild Boar King collapsed with a final, earth-shaking thud. A notification rang out:

[Ding! You have slain the Wild Boar King. Gain 5,000 experience points.]

[Ding! Congratulations, you have reached Level 4. Gain 400 free attribute points.]

[Ding! Main God Talent activated. Gain ten times the attribute points: 4,000 points.]

In addition to the experience and attribute points, the boss dropped a rare item:

[Skill Book: Charge]

Effect: Teaches the skill "Charge," which allows the user to dash forward at high speed, dealing significant damage to enemies in their path.

Lukas's eyes lit up as he picked up the skill book. Skills were notoriously hard to come by during the novice period, and this would give him yet another edge over the competition.

...

As Lukas returned to the village square with hundreds of wild boar tusks and a newfound skill, the village chat exploded with messages:

"Did you see that? Wraith is a monster! He just handed in a ridiculous number of tusks!"

"I heard he even triggered the Wild Boar King! That's insane!"

"Wraith, take me with you! I'll do anything!"

Ignoring the chatter, Lukas approached the village chief to complete his quest. His thoughts were calm but filled with determination.

"With this power," he murmured, "the novice period is just the beginning. Soon, the entire Battlefield of Eternal Races will know my name."

As Lukas ventured deeper into Black Moon Canyon, he remained unaware of the commotion his actions had caused. His focus was singular—find the old doctor's daughter and complete the task. While moving through the canyon, several notifications appeared in his mind:

[Ding! Congratulations to Wraith for achieving the world's first Boss Wolf King kill. Reward: 1,000 free attribute points.]

[Ding! Congratulations to Wraith for achieving the first Boss kill in Region 92. Reward: 500 free attribute points.]

[Ding! Congratulations to Wraith for achieving the first Boss kill in Novice Village No. 18. Reward: 100 free attribute points.]

The combined rewards totaled 1,600 free attribute points, but Lukas decided to hold off on allocating them. His goal was to complete the doctor's mission first, then take stock of his power afterward.

Not long after, Lukas located the old doctor's daughter. She was safe but clearly shaken. Wasting no time, he escorted her back to Novice Village No. 18.

When they arrived at the village square, the old doctor rushed forward, his face alight with relief. After confirming that his daughter was unharmed, he turned to Lukas with deep gratitude.

"Adventurer, I cannot thank you enough for this. Please accept this weapon as a reward for your courage."

[Ding! Mission Complete: Rescue the Doctor's Daughter. Reward: Green-Tier Weapon ×1]

The doctor handed Lukas a long blade, its craftsmanship far superior to the novice equipment he had been using.

[Cold Iron Blade: Green-Tier]

Type: Weapon

Effect: Increases attack by 300 points.

The weapon system in the novice world ranked items into seven tiers: White (Common), Green (Fine), Blue (Superior), Purple (Perfect), Orange (Epic), Gold (Legendary), and Red (Mythic). For a beginner, obtaining a Green-Tier weapon was a game-changer.

Equipping the Cold Iron Blade, Lukas felt a surge of power. With this weapon, no monster below level 5 in the surrounding wilderness could pose a challenge. His grinding efficiency would skyrocket.

Satisfied with his new weapon, Lukas approached the village chief, another key NPC. The chief greeted him warmly.

"Adventurer, I saw your bravery in rescuing the doctor's daughter. Our village is in dire need of someone like you. Recently, wild boars from the mountains have been destroying our crops. Can you help us eliminate them?"

A task window appeared in front of Lukas:

[Mission: Cull the Wild Boars]

[Description:] Hunt wild boars that have been damaging the village crops. Collect their tusks as proof. Five tusks can be exchanged for one free attribute point, with a maximum exchange of 500 tusks.

[Bonus Objective:] If you defeat more than 500 wild boars, a hidden boss, the Wild Boar King, will appear. Defeating the boss will reward a rare skill book.

Lukas accepted the mission without hesitation. The opportunity to face a hidden boss and obtain a skill book was too valuable to pass up.

Leaving the village behind, Lukas made his way to the fields where the wild boars roamed. Dozens of them grazed among the crops, their sharp tusks glinting menacingly in the sunlight.

[Wild Boar: Level 2]

Attack: 81

Defense: 69

Agility: 60

Health: 700

Though stronger than the wolf demons he had faced earlier, the wild boars were still no match for Lukas. Before engaging, he reviewed his stats, now bolstered by the Cold Iron Blade:

[Player Stats]

Attack: 932+300

Defense: 925+20

Agility: 932

Mana: 9,300

Health: 9,300

With his Main God Talent granting ten times the attribute points per level, Lukas was already building himself into an all-around powerhouse. His goal was to eliminate any weaknesses and become a truly unstoppable force.

As Lukas approached, the boars noticed him and began to close in. Leading the pack was a particularly aggressive boar with large, razor-sharp tusks. It charged at him with a burst of speed.

Lukas calmly sidestepped the attack. As the boar passed, he swung his Cold Iron Blade in a swift, calculated motion. The blade cleaved cleanly through the boar's midsection, splitting its body in two. Blood and entrails spilled across the ground as the boar's severed halves fell to the dirt.

—1,163!

The boar's meager defense of 69 was no match for Lukas's attack power of over 1,200. It had been slain in a single strike.

[Ding! You have slain a Level 2 Wild Boar. Gain 20 experience points.]

The boar also dropped an item: a plain wild boar tusk. Lukas picked it up and turned his attention to the rest of the herd. The remaining boars charged at him in waves, but each one fell with a single swing of his blade.

[Ding! You have slain a Level 2 Wild Boar. Gain 20 experience points.]

After slaying over 100 wild boars, a notification appeared:

[Ding! Congratulations, you have reached Level 3. Gain 300 free attribute points.]

[Ding! Main God Talent activated. Gain ten times the attribute points: 3,000 points.]

Lukas grinned. Reaching Level 3 had put him in a completely different league compared to other players. However, he decided to hold off on allocating his newly earned points. Instead, he focused on hunting more wild boars, determined to surpass the 500-kill mark and trigger the Wild Boar King.

Meanwhile, back in Novice Village No. 18, the other players had begun to notice Lukas's extraordinary progress. Word of him completing the doctor's quest and equipping a Green-Tier weapon spread quickly, sparking lively discussions in the village chat:

"Did you see that guy? He handed in a mission and got a Green-Tier weapon! That has to be Wraith, the one who got the first Boss kill!"

"Man, he's so fast. I can't believe someone has already killed a Level 3 Boss. He must have a god-tier talent. Wraith, please carry us!"

"Ugh, my talent is only D-tier. It gives me a 20% health boost, which is basically useless right now."

"Same here! Mine's E-tier. A 10% agility boost isn't even noticeable. Wraith, please join our party!"

Some players even tried to recruit him:

"Wraith, have you joined any factions yet? If not, the Vance Family would like to extend an invitation. We're one of the ten great families in Solaris Nation and can offer you plenty of support in the Battlefield of Eternal Races."

Uninterested in the village gossip, Lukas continued his relentless hunt in the fields. With each swing of his blade, his power grew more apparent. The novice period was just the beginning, and Lukas was determined to leave everyone else in his dust.
