Lydia tore open the letter and read it. The letter was from Sam and he was informing her his departure to London and how he had realised how foolish he was to abaddon his dreams of working in the UK to elope with her and how he had set her free from the marriage. Lydia was devastated. If not her he should have thought of the children she thought. Lydia vacated the house together with her four children and she relocated to her native village. She started a soap business which flourished. She earned enough money from it to catter for her children and provide them with everything. After six years , Sam started sending parcels to his children on occasions such as Christmas and their birthdays. Lydia was a bit happy that he was trying to build a relationship with the children. Amongst her children Anita was the brightest she had an amazing passion for school. She passed her final exams at middle school with flying colours and had the opportunity to attend one of the best high schools in the nation at large. Pat entered a vocational training institute and the boys were in a boarding school for their middle school education. Anita was frequently ill. She spent most of her three years at the hospital than in school. As a result she passed her final year exams but not to the point she wanted. She aspired to be teacher. At the college of education, her illness continued. No known medicine was able to cure her. When she started attending church and built a relationship with God the strange illness stopped abruptly. Pat on the other hand terminated her education to run away with a man who promised her heaven on earth. Gerald became a nurse and moved to the other side of town. Danny became an architect and moved to the other side of town as well. They all thought they had perfect lives but that was the beginning of a grave test
