Sabrina pushed open the door to the necktie department and was greeted with the rows of display racks, different shades of necktie hanging in colours, patterns, and style.
There were a series of mannequin placed beside each rack, dressed in suit and ties to showcase how they look when worn. Each of them were a testament to authenticity. The melodic instrumental music and the faint scents of quality fabric materials filled the air, adding to the pleasant atmosphere of the room. The neckties were organized in sections, some were placed on the shelves while some were placed in a show glass for easy navigation and for high-quality awareness.
"Do you think a necktie would be a perfect gift for a man?" Sabrina asked the saleswoman indecisively, her fingernail tip hanging in between her upper incisor and lower incisor as she was busy contemplating. It's been over fifteen minutes since she had been in the store, contemplating on what to get for David, even though she clearly walked into a boutique with her eyes wide-open. Today was their wedding anniversary, and she couldn't afford to ruin it.
Sabrina had gone to a series of department stores in the boutique, but she couldn't find any that suits her taste. She finally agreed to check out the last department after so much contemplation, and here she was, looking at a variety of high-quality neckties. After careful consideration, she finally made up her mind to get him the necktie.
"I would like to go with the seven style neck tie with a dotted design," Sabrina concluded as she pointed to a black tie with a white dotted design.
"How much does it cost?"
"It's approximately 600 dollars" The saleswoman responded with a smile on her face.
"Hum, kindly wrap it up please" Sabrina handed over her credit card even though she didn't have much in her account.
Sabrina had been a stay at home wife ever since she got married. David had insisted she quit her well paying job, delete her social media account , and cut ties with her friends, which she gladly accepted. Saying no to David will be the last thing she would do.
After paying for the neck tie, she finally walked out of the store happily and headed towards the car.
"Sorry for keeping you waiting."She tendered her apology to the cab driver and sat down at the back seat exhaustively.
The car halted at the facade of a big building. It was the same hotel Daniel had told her earlier about.
Sabrina walked into the hotel with her shoulder up, chin high, and a seductive smile on her face.
She had imagined a series of sex positions with David. It's been long they got intimate, and today was the perfect day to unleash the beast within her.
Today was also a day of joy, and she couldn't wait to break the news to David. She's five months gone. Sabrina has been unable to tell him due to his busy schedules.Alas, the opportunity presents itself, and she was more than happy to share the news.
She took the elevator to the hotel room David texted to her.
"I can't wait to see his reaction when he sees me in this lingerie"Sabrina giggled, peeping through her clothes to have a glance of her sexy lingerie as she attempted to open the door to the hotel room.Just as she was about to open it, she heard a low sound echoing through the room.
"Huuuh!mmmmmh!your d***k is heavenly, baby. I can't get enough…"
Sabrina froze, her heart pounding with each breath. She moved back instinctively, trying to process what she had just heard. As much as she wanted to confirm what it was, she couldn't help but to step back, trying to convince herself that it was the wrong room and a mistyped room number. As she was about to walk away, she heard another husky voice, this time a familiar one. "Fuck! I wish I could devour every part of your body, you're so sweet"
Sabrina stopped in track, her heartbeat pacing up. She took a step forward and finally opened the door to the room, and here she was, staring at her husband with another woman on the bed, fucking themselves with so much passion that they couldn't realize someone was in the room.
Sabrina staggered backward, her hand trembling as the gift bag slipped from her grip, indicating her presence. But David expression remained unchanged, cold and unfazed. He directed his gaze towards Sabrina as he looked at her with disgust and hatred as if she were nothing more than a piece of trash. Sabrina tried to utter a word, but her brain could not find the right word. It was as if her brain were sent to a factory reset.
"I guess you finally found out,"David said, his voice cold. "You know, I can't keep it away from you forever, and that was why I texted you and gave you the room number so you could see for yourself. My relationship with Katrina can't be hidden any longer."
Sabrina could feel the muscle in her throat contracting. For a moment, it was as if her entire world was slipping away."I don't get you. I guess i hea–rd you wro–ng"she stuttered.
David's eyes darkened, his voice void of warmth"Do you forget your brain at home?!are you too slow to comprehend a simple sentence, or you've developed a temporary dementia?"
Sabrina's face was plastered with surprise. The scene before her was unbelievable and ridiculous. It was too hard to believe, too hard to sink into her brain. Her shoulder slumped, weighed down by the burden of grief."You can't do this to me. I'm your wife, the one whom you promised to spend the rest of your life with" Sabrina coaxed, stretching her hand forward with desperation.
"You're still as naive as a toddler. Do you really believe I said all those things out of love?don't be delusional, Sabrina. You and I know you're just a stepping stone to my career" David declared mockingly, his laughter filling the room.
" I gave up my career just for you, cut ties with my friend just for you, I did every damn thing you asked me to do. Where do you want me to start at this point?" Sabrina's lip quivered, struggling to contain the pain she was feeling.
"You're just an ordinary substitute to Keisha, and never would I fall for a gullible person as you. It's time you accept your fate" David barked, and that was when Sabrina realized who David was fucking. It was Keisha, his best friend.
The one who got married just a few months before their wedding.
