Planet Earth, Romantic Peach Heart Internet Café.
In the bustling internet café, Su Nian, like other game-addicted teens, was busy showcasing his lackluster skills in the game.
"Malphite, where's your Q? Just Q, damn it! I'm yelling at you to Q—Q already! No, don't ult!"
His buddy next to him was furiously berating Malphite, while Su Nian frantically controlled his mid-lane Zed, dodging the relentless pursuit of the enemy Tryndamere.
"Once the Ghostblade is activated, dodging is pointless! I'll just—dodge again, ha, I twist~"
"And now, I'll pull off a flashy return throw!"
As he made the move, his exaggerated gesture accidentally knocked over a cup of water beside the keyboard.
The water spilled onto the mess of tangled wires, and with a loud "ZAP," a violent arc of electricity shot out, striking Su Nian square on the face and knocking him unconscious.
This was a play he could've handled...
Just a little bit more.
First blood, dammit!
As his vision faded to black, Su Nian was still lamenting the missed opportunity for first blood.
...
Faint voices echoed in Su Nian's mind, but his brain had already ceased functioning, and his soul was on the brink of eternal slumber. He couldn't hear these voices, let alone understand their language.
[Why him?]
[Sigh, too weak. He can't even control the lightning element. The human next to him had a much brighter destiny...]
[Forget it, we'll take it one step at a time... Hopefully, this works...]
...
...
It was unclear how much time had passed.
Su Nian gradually regained some semblance of consciousness, though his mind remained foggy.
He felt his entire body was cold and numb.
Before he could react, a searing pain ripped through every part of his body, nearly causing him to black out again.
"Roar... grrr... roar?"
[What the hell? Did someone steal my kidneys? Why does it hurt so much?]
Su Nian couldn't help but mutter, instinctively stretching his body, only to abruptly cover his mouth in shock.
What was that sound?
Was that... his voice?
And this sensation...
Long, cold, hard, and sharp teeth...
Why were his hands so hard?
"Roar?"
[What the...?]
Su Nian was stunned. Thinking he must be dreaming, he tried to get up from the ground, only to find that his once-coordinated limbs now only allowed him to roll around helplessly.
It was as if his body no longer obeyed the commands of his brain; everything was out of sync.
As he rolled, he ended up near a puddle of water.
A damp smell of moss wafted through the air. In the faint light, Su Nian caught a glimpse of his reflection in the puddle.
A slender, elongated neck covered in jet-black scales, sharp claws, crimson eyes, and a menacing dragon's head...
The creature in the puddle was none other than a black dragon straight out of a Western fantasy world.
And a scrawny one at that!
Ignoring the excruciating pain coursing through his body, Su Nian twisted his long neck to examine himself.
Bat-like dragon wings, a long tail... but his entire body was riddled with wounds. The faint smell of burnt flesh lingered, and his skin throbbed with pain.
He had really turned into a dragon.
One of the five Chromatic Dragons—a black dragon, to be precise. And judging by his condition, one of those weaklings that lived in swamps and spat acid.
But why him?
And what was the story behind this dragon?
Su Nian looked around and noticed he wasn't the only creature in this dark, damp cave.
Not far from him, beneath a rocky wall covered in purple moss, a small girl with fox ears and a fox tail was cowering, staring at him in terror. Her delicate, doll-like face, adorned with a touch of baby fat, was streaked with tears.
The girl had snow-white hair that draped over the ground, and her eyes, a brilliant shade of red, sparkled like gemstones. Her porcelain-white skin was so flawless it seemed she might shatter at a touch.
She was dressed in an ornate princess gown, though it was now somewhat dirty, with a few singed edges.
As Su Nian gazed at the girl, a sharp pain shot through his head, and fragments of memories flooded his mind.
[He was Wotrus, 22 years old, a purebred adolescent swamp black dragon. Among the five Chromatic Dragons, his strength ranked only above the white dragon, making him a certified weakling.]
[This was a world of swords and magic. Wotrus, born with malformed wings fused to his forelimbs, was deemed a freak and exiled from his lair shortly after birth. He survived countless close calls to reach adolescence and attain third-tier strength (Level 30).]
[If Wotrus had continued to lay low, he might have reached sixth-tier strength as an adult. But his downfall came from his love of human storybooks.]
[While other dragons hoarded gold, Wotrus collected storybooks. He adored their tales and idolized the powerful dragons who kidnapped princesses.]
[As the saying goes, a dragon who doesn't kidnap princesses isn't a proper dragon. So Wotrus, overcome with passion, decided to take action.]
[He threatened a small kingdom's king, demanding the most beautiful princess as tribute or he would destroy the royal palace. The king agreed, setting a three-day deadline to deliver the princess. However, the king, harboring deep resentment, secretly sought help from a powerful third-tier mage, as his kingdom lacked the strength to confront a dragon.]
[Three days later, Wotrus arrived at the tribute altar and indeed saw a "princess." But he also fell into an ambush by the king's army and the mage. Desperately fleeing, he grabbed the "princess" and barely escaped, though he was hit by several fireballs. He collapsed in his cave, unconscious.]
And now, his body and memories had been taken over by Su Nian, a regular gaming addict from Earth.
Wotrus's memories had fully merged with Su Nian's, leaving them indistinguishable. Su Nian now held the dominant consciousness.
"What an idiot!" Su Nian roared, his voice emerging as incomprehensible dragon speech.
That "princess" offered by the human king? How could a human have fox ears and a fox tail?
She was merely a sacrificial pawn, bait for the king's dragon-slaying scheme.
Su Nian turned his gaze to the doll-like girl and noticed her frail and pale condition.
Clearly, she was in terrible shape.
He was about to approach and greet her when a spasm of pain wracked his muscles, causing him to faceplant into the ground.
Cursing himself internally, Su Nian realized he had no business worrying about someone else's condition when he was barely clinging to life.
Grimacing, Su Nian accepted the reality of his transmigration.
The priority now was survival. But with his current state, how could he even move, let alone find medicine? Could he really rely on the frightened girl before him to help?
Just as Su Nian despaired, three electronic chimes echoed in his mind:
"Ding! Greetings, Host. The War Plunder System is at your service!"
"Ding! Greetings, Host. The Evolution Enhancement System is at your service!"
"Ding! Greetings, Host. The Evil Villain System is at your service!"
"Ding! Too many systems detected. Initiating fusion... Fusion in progress..." """
