Su Nian stared blankly at the three system notification boxes with distinct styles in his field of vision.
But soon, a sense of excitement replaced his confusion.
A system! The golden cheat every transmigrator dreams of.
And not just one—he got three! Though he wasn't sure what they could do yet. As the systems were in the process of merging, Su Nian had no way to get answers to his questions.
After a brief wait, the system popped up another notification:
Ding! System fusion complete. Current system: Ultimate Invincible Self-Modification Super Evolution Plunder War Dragon System, abbreviated as Dragon System!
Su Nian: ╭(°A°`)╮?!
That name...was unnecessarily long, wasn't it?
"Roar...Roar?"
What's the purpose of the Dragon System?
Ding! Host does not need to speak aloud. Simply think the message, and it will be transmitted to the system.
This system is immensely powerful, integrating the functionalities of three major systems to provide comprehensive services for the host.
Function 1: Special Enhancement Feature: Originally named the Special Female NPC Amplification System, it was renamed to comply with stricter system audits.
This feature requires the host to acquire various special female NPCs to activate. Each female NPC will offer a large number of system points and at least one enhancement or ability.
Function 2: Evolutionary Modification Feature: The host can perform targeted modifications on themselves, consuming system points.
Function 3: Evil Villain Feature: The host gains system points by defeating righteous forces or players. Defeating enemies yields half the points.
Ding! Detection complete: The host has acquired an SSS-grade special female NPC. Unlocking the Favorability Sub-Feature, Status Panel Observation Feature, and Occasionally-Functional Mind-Reading Feature.
"Wait, wait, hold on! Stop babbling for a second!"
The barrage of system notifications left Su Nian with a headache. He reread the messages and asked in confusion:
"What NPC? What player? Am I in reality or a game?"
Ding! The host's current world is a real one, but under the influence of certain entities, it is about to undergo partial gamification. This is a gamble concerning the fate of the world. If the host cannot eliminate the players, the consequences will be dire.
"Eliminate players?"
Su Nian frowned. What kind of nonsense was this? Players referred to those who could respawn in games, right?
Yet, Su Nian had never heard of any country developing such a hyper-realistic game.
Currently, most nations' gaming technology was still in the early stages of VR. Fully immersive games like this weren't something Earth's technology could produce.
Ding! Players come from Water Blue Star, a world where the gaming industry is highly advanced, similar to your home planet.
"A parallel world, then?"
Su Nian muttered to himself. That eased his mind a bit—at least they weren't his compatriots.
"But even so, it's impossible to eliminate players, right? They can respawn, after all!"
Ding! Players can respawn, but each revival doubles the time required. The first revival takes 5 seconds, the second 10 seconds, the third 20 seconds, and so on indefinitely. When the revival time reaches one year, players are theoretically forced to quit the game.
Wow. Su Nian's dragon mouth twisted into a sinister grin. He recalled how he once got his gaming account banned for a year due to cheating. It had completely killed his interest in the game.
And even if a player stubbornly returned after a year, the next death would mean two years. Meanwhile, he would continue growing stronger. As long as he didn't die, the players would only become weaker!
This plan might actually work. It didn't seem too hard—after all, he was a dragon now, even if he wasn't particularly impressive yet.
Just as Su Nian was envisioning his bright future, the system's notification interrupted his thoughts.
Ding! Detection complete: SSS-grade Special Loli NPC. Would you like to view the related panel?
Special Loli NPC?
Su Nian glanced at the little girl cowering in the corner, feeling puzzled.
This was SSS-grade?
Sure, she was cute—way more delicate than his collectible figurines—but encountering an SSS-grade right off the bat made Su Nian feel like maybe SSS-grade wasn't all that special.
"Alright, display it."
Despite his confusion, Su Nian was eager to see what made this NPC so special. After all, this was supposed to be his key to getting stronger.
Ding! Panel as follows (will not pop up again):
Name: Anna Hathaway (Age: 18 Elven Years)
Rating: SSS-grade
Personality: Timid, Fragile, Gentle, Kind
Race: Half-Elf
Strength: Weak (Can't even beat a chicken)
Status: Gravely Ill, Weak (Lifespan: 2 days remaining)
Talents: Top-tier Water Element Affinity, Top-tier Light Element Affinity, Peerless Beauty (Activated), Delicate and Fragile (Passive), Alluring Fragrance (Passive)
Current Favorability: -80 (Fear)
Evaluation: The host is incredibly lucky—both literally and sarcastically.
Note: Low favorability prevents earning system points and abilities. Please increase favorability to 0 to unlock the first stage of special abilities.
"Uh…"
Su Nian was dumbfounded. He had thought he'd immediately gain some abilities, but now he had to grind favorability to zero first?
This was starting to feel like playing a galgame.
And if he wasn't mistaken, this top-tier "card" he had casually picked up was going to die in two days, right?
What kind of cursed start was this?
"System, can we negotiate? Look, I'm barely able to move right now, just as weak as she is. How am I supposed to earn her favor? Don't you have some sort of beginner's gift pack?"
Su Nian mentally pleaded with the system.
Ding! The host makes a valid point. Issuing Beginner's Gift Pack: Temporary Recovery Card (30-minute version).
Note: The Temporary Recovery Card draws from the host's life essence. After 30 minutes of temporary recovery, the host will become even weaker and fall into a coma. Would the host like to use it?
Su Nian: "…"
Why did this feel like the system was just robbing Peter to pay Paul? It was essentially giving him his own resources as a reward.
Still, after thinking it over, Su Nian realized using the Temporary Recovery Card was his only option. His condition was worsening by the minute.
Relying on the girl to save him was unrealistic—she was already trembling in fear, after all.
Besides, her situation didn't seem much better than his.
So cold, so cold… The dragon is so scary…Hungry… sob sob sob…
Mommy…
Suddenly, a soft, weak voice echoed in Su Nian's mind. The voice was sweet and cottony, like a fluffy cloud brushing against his heart, making it itch and tingle.
It seemed the Occasionally-Functional Mind-Reading Feature had kicked in…
Honestly, the system could've made a great tailor with all these "occasional" features.
Su Nian glanced at the girl and confirmed she hadn't spoken aloud. She was just huddled in the corner, trembling slightly.
Probably because she was too cold.
Su Nian surveyed his damp, chilly lair and reached the same conclusion.
There was no time to hesitate. Su Nian's dragon eyes gleamed with determination as he mentally called out to the system:
"System, I want to use the Temporary Recovery Card!"
Ding! Temporary Recovery Card activated. Please cherish your life.
