Chapter 11 - Running Away

Sofia knew that staying in New York City would only be risky to herself. Justin was the Justin of New York City. He knew everyplace that ever existed in the city. It would be very easy to spot her in New York City. Going to New York however would poise less of threat towards her. Once she was fully settled in New York, she was going to come for her child.

Meanwhile, the airport officials noticed a plane taking off and they all rushed out of the field and back to the main building to discover it was the plane that was bound to leave in an hour time.

"What the fuck do you think you are doing Mage!" The engineers, who was assigned to monitor the planes asked, through his walkie talkie.

The pilot had gotten the message, but had refused to speak. He knew the weather was extremely bad and needed to do something real quick.

"Ma'am the weather isn't conducive for the plane to move anywhere." The pilot indicated through the open cock pit door. Sofia had been trying to get Aiden up, but he wasn't responding.

"Just keep driving." She yelled and the pilot turned to stare at all the possible map to discover that a huge thunderstorm was approaching them in the next fifteen minutes.

There was no way the plane would survive through the thunderstorm and he also was aware that the young lady being stubborn wouldn't want him to turn around.

The pilot realized he had one last option left and that was to get out of the plane, with the aide of a parachute.

He watched carefully to see that the young lady had her attention on the man in the back seat and he used the avenue to open the door wide enough, stared at the very long height at which the plane had alleviated, before jumping off the plane.

Sofia looked up to realize there was no sign of the pilot. She rushed to check and discovered that the pilot had dropped down. Slowly, anxiety began to creep in as she wondered what she could do to stop the impending danger as the plane began to descend. She couldn't fly a plane and Aiden was showing no sign of waking up soon enough.

Sofia began to imagine herself dying in the aircraft. Her imagination extended to the tears that would pour out of her son's face, when he discovered that his mother died from a plane crash.

Meanwhile, Aiden woke up to a very hazy environment. It took him time to realize he was in a plane and not just any plane, a plane with Sofia in it. When Sofia looked up to see Aiden was awake, she rushed over to his side.

"Thank goodness you are back." She said.

"What is going on here? What is making that sound?" Aiden asked.

"It's a long story Aiden but first we need to find a way to get ourselves to safety. The pilot has jumped down from the plane and the plane is descending." Aiden had a few knowledge about driving a plane and stood up and rush over the pilot's seat.

"Where is this plane supposed to be headed?" He asked, trying to grab hold of the tiller and pulling it upwards, in a bit to steady the plane.

"Los Angeles" Aiden observed from the sensor of the weather forecast screen that a thunderstorm was approaching in some minutes.

"We cannot head over to Los Angeles, we need to turn around." Aiden indicated. "If we dare to risk it, we would be dead meat." He stated further.

"Very well then; but we wouldn't be landing at the first airport we had taken off, we would have to find another airport and make our landings there." Aiden hesitated for a moment, wondering why she wanted that to be the case, but eventually agreed to her suggestion.

A few moments later, they landed safely at the second choice airport and when the officials of the airport rushed over to the tarmac to figure who it was that had arrived, they noticed it was Aiden Daniel, and didn't bother asking any more question.

When Aiden and Sofia arrived at Aiden's mansion, Beatrice the cook, was shocked to see both of them entering into the living room. She had presumed that Aiden would be in New York at the moment, and never expected it to be other wise.

Sofia dropped to the couch the moment and breath in relief. It has been a very hectic day for her and seeing that she was in one peace was one of the biggest thing she had wished for in a long time.

"You look really un kept Sofia." She opened her eyes to see that Aiden was staring at her. "I don't mean it to be some sort of insult, but you need to get yourself clean."

Sofia totally understood his point and decided to take his advice. Aiden directed her to the guest room and while she was taking her bath, Aiden directed several other maids to get good female clothes for Sofia, once she was done taking her bathe.

Aiden proceeded to the kitchen, where she found the old woman cooking and for some odd reason, he was confused as to whether Mrs. Beatrice would do such a thing.

Beatrice on the other hand had felt his presence at first, but didn't make any slight indication of turning around. After some minutes, she turned around and faked being scared at the sight of Aiden

"Didn't see you step in." She commented, laughing awkwardly, while Aiden easily stared at her.

"Did you by any chance add something to my meal?" Aiden finally asked the one question that has been bothering his mind. Beatrice was confused

"No, I would never do such a thing. I have been serving the Daniels for a very long time; I would never do such a thing."

Aiden still didn't trust the woman words. "Very well then, I just need to remind you that henceforth, I would be cooking the meal for myself." He left the kitchen and the thought of what could have possibly happened to him bugged his mind.

Suddenly, an idea ran through his mind and he turned to the security room. The house had a surveillance camera and indeed there was no way that anything would have happened and it wouldn't have been noticed by the camera.

Once he arrived at the security room, Aiden was surprised to see that the cameras had been shutdown, leaving him even more confused. Who could have shut the camera down? He wondered. Aiden was beginning to realize that staying in the mansion wasn't the safest thing to do at the moment.

While Aiden had the urge to go and meet Sofia, he knew that she would most probably be tired. He decided to leave her till the next morning, where he would have time to discuss with Sofia about the current awkward things going on around the place.
