Coffee & Conversations*
Rohit and Siya sat in a quiet café, far from the corporate towers and
luxury apartments they were used to. The place was small, a bit
run-down, but the coffee was strong and the silence comfortable.
Siya took a sip of her cappuccino, then smirked. "So, what's next for
you, Mr. Criminal?"
Rohit chuckled. "Probably looking for a new job. No way Aarav is
letting me stay after what happened."
She tilted her head. "Would you still work for a company where your ex
is in HR and your boss wants you dead?"
"Fair point," he admitted. "I'll resign first thing tomorrow."
Siya nodded approvingly. "Good. You should've quit long ago. That
place was never going to recognize your worth."
Rohit raised an eyebrow. "And what about you? What's next for Miss
Billionaire Heir?"
She leaned back, playing with her spoon. "Haven't decided yet. My
father still wants me to go through with the engagement for the sake
of business. But after everything… I just don't care anymore."
"You should take over the company yourself," Rohit said casually.
"You've got the brains, the money, and honestly, way more guts than
Aarav."
Siya blinked, then laughed. "You really think so?"
He shrugged. "Why not? Stop chasing after people who don't value you.
Do your own thing."
For a moment, she just stared at him, as if seeing him in a different
light.
Then she smirked. "You're dangerously close to sounding like someone I
could actually respect."
Rohit chuckled. "Let's not get carried away."
*The Resignation*
The next day, Rohit walked into his office—for the last time.
Ananya was there, sitting at her desk when he dropped the resignation
letter in front of her.
She looked up, surprised. "You're quitting?"
He nodded. "Yeah. No point staying."
She hesitated. "You know… you're a valuable employee. The company
doesn't want to lose you."
Rohit smiled faintly. "You don't get it, Ananya. This place might
value me, but it doesn't respect me. And that's more important."
She said nothing, just looked at him as if trying to understand when
he had changed so much.
But he didn't give her the satisfaction. He turned and walked away.
*A New Offer*
That evening, as he sat at home, wondering what to do next, his phone
buzzed.
It was Siya.
"Need a job?" she asked casually.
Rohit raised an eyebrow. "Are you serious?"
"I'm hiring," she said. "Figured I could use someone competent."
"Sounds suspicious."
She laughed. "Try it for a month. The pay's good."
Rohit smirked. "Fine. I'll see how it goes."
As he hung up, he realized something.
For the first time in a long while, he wasn't stuck. He was moving
forward.
