*First Day at Siya's Company*
Rohit stepped into Khanna Enterprises, a stark contrast to his
previous workplace. The atmosphere was calm but professional, without
the cutthroat tension of his old job. Unlike Aarav's company—where
hierarchy dictated everything—this place actually seemed to function
on merit.
Siya met him at the entrance, dressed in a sleek business suit.
"Welcome to your new life, Mr. Sharma."
He smirked. "I feel like a charity case."
She rolled her eyes. "Trust me, I wouldn't hire you out of pity.
You're actually good at your job."
He raised an eyebrow. "You checked my record?"
She smirked. "Of course. I don't make reckless decisions."
Rohit chuckled. "Says the woman who helped me destroy a Porsche."
Siya laughed. "Touché."
*Office Politics and New Challenges*
Unlike his old job, Khanna Enterprises had a different kind of
corporate game—one that relied more on competence than favoritism.
But Rohit wasn't completely welcomed.
Many employees knew he was personally recommended by Siya Khanna
herself, and that alone made people cautious. Some saw him as a
potential rival, others as a mere outsider riding on connections.
During his first meeting, a senior manager, Mr. Batra, subtly tried to
test him.
"So, Mr. Sharma," Batra said, flipping through files. "You came from
Aarav Industries, right? That's a very… different environment. Think
you can keep up here?"
Rohit met his gaze without hesitation. "If I can survive working under
a two-faced CEO and an ex-girlfriend who made sure my promotions got
delayed, I think I'll be fine."
A few chuckles spread across the room. Even Siya hid a smirk.
Batra cleared his throat. "Well then, let's see what you've got."
*Aarav's Reaction*
Meanwhile, back at Aarav Industries, news of Rohit's new job spread
fast.
Aarav was furious. "You're telling me he's working for Siya now?"
His assistant nodded. "Yes, sir. Apparently, she personally recruited
him."
Ananya overheard this conversation. For some reason, she felt a weird
pang in her chest—not regret, but… something close.
*Dinner and Reflection*
Later that night, Siya and Rohit went for a casual dinner.
Siya raised a glass. "To new beginnings?"
Rohit smirked. "To sane bosses."
They clinked glasses.
Siya studied him for a moment. "You know… a few months ago, you were
planning your future with Ananya. Now, you're here, working with me.
Life's funny, isn't it?"
Rohit nodded. "Yeah. But maybe this is better. I don't regret
anything."
Siya smiled. "Good. Because I think you're just getting started."
As he took a sip of his drink, Rohit realized something.
For the first time in a long while, he wasn't living in the past.
