Chapter 10 - new identity

# 10

Alpha Valle stepped into the human world, his dreadlocks a wild tangle down his back. His animal skin loincloth and feathered headdress marked him as a stranger in this strange land. The air was thick with the smells of smoke and metal, a far cry from the crisp ice of his kingdom.

As he emerged from the alleyway, a cacophony of car horns and shouts assaulted his ears. The humans rushed past him, their faces a blur of disgust, mockery, and jest. Alpha's eyes widened in wonder, his grip on his spear tightening.

"What sorcery is this?" he muttered, staring up at the towering buildings that seemed to touch the sky.

A group of humans, their skin a deep brown like the rich soil of his kingdom, pointed and laughed at him. "Look at this dude's hair!" one of them jeered. "And what's with the animal print onesie?"

Alpha's face darkened, his hand on the shaft of his spear. But he restrained himself. He took a deep breath and approached the group. "Greetings, people of this land," he said, his voice deep and resonant. "I am Alpha Valle, I come in search of my Luna."

The humans snickered, their eyes flicking to his dreadlocks and back to his face. "Luna? You look like you just stepped out of a bad 90s music video," one of them sneered.

Alpha's face remained calm, but his heart burned with frustration. How could these humans dare to Mock him? Do they know the kind of power he wields? He felt the need to retaliate but he put himself under control and walked away.

Alpha Valle walked away from the laughter, the sneering voices swirling around him like sharp thorns. Anger bubbled in his chest, hot and fierce, urging him to unleash the strength that flowed through his icy veins. The mockery of the humans stung, and he refused to be humiliated any longer.

"You better watch your mouth!" he shouted, glancing back at the group of observers. Their laughter faded, but he caught a glimpse of a young man pushing through the throng towards him.

"Hey, are you lost? Did you come from some studio?" the guy asked, amusement dancing in his eyes. Something in his tone snapped the last thread of Valle's patience.

"You will Show me respect!" Valle growled, catching the man by the neck, his grip taut and unyielding. The human's face twisted with surprise and fear, desperation sparking in his wide eyes.

"Please! I didn't mean anything by it!" the guy gasped, struggling against Valle's hold. A part of Valle reveled in that moment, feeling the power thrumming through him. For once, in this land of the scoffers, he was in control.

With a wave of sheer frustration, he flung the guy away. The man stumbled, lost his balance, and crashed into the pavement, his head hitting the concrete with a sickening thud. Valle stood tall, a spark of satisfaction igniting in his chest as he heard the gasps from the crowd. People scattered, running away from the spectacle of what had just occurred.

"Now that's more like it," Valle muttered, deep satisfaction washing over him—you could break a man's spirit, but never a beast like him. He felt powerful, invincible even, until suddenly, the distant wail of sirens pierced the happiness of his triumph.

His chest tightened as he turned to see flashing blue and red lights slicing through the haze of the city. The police vehicle pulled up, and officers piled out, weapons drawn and tension emanating from their stances. Valle's mind raced back to tales of rogue wolves attacking and, with blind rage, he stood his ground. He would not back down now.

"Sir, put your hands up! Drop the weapon!" one of the officers shouted.

Valle's instincts fired; these were no simple humans—they were threats. He roared a challenge, and before he knew it, he charged forward. The officers pulled their weapons in unison, but Valle was already in motion. He moved like a blur, a primal force of nature. The officers shouted commands, anxiety creeping into their voices, but all he heard was the pounding of his heart and the rush of adrenaline.

The first officer fired. A bullet whizzed past him, too slow to hit its target. Valle felt a rush of power as he dodged, the sound of the bullet reverberating in the air. He moved toward the squad car, a massive figure full of rage and ferocity. In a single swing, he smashed into the vehicle with his fist. The impact sent it tumbling, glass shattering everywhere.

The officers gaped in disbelief, their fear palpable. Their training faced the reality that they were dealing with something beyond their expectations. Valle's rage surged, and he took a step closer to them, ready to unleash more chaos.

"Stand down!" another officer shouted, his voice hoarse as he brought his weapon up again, fingers trembling on the trigger. Valle could see it in their eyes—the uncertainty and fear. He was a force of nature, something they had never encountered.

Then, as if summoned from nowhere, a blur hit him from the side. Valle barely registered it before the sting of the taser jolted through him. His muscles tightened, and a fierce wave of electricity shot through his body, unbalancing him.

"What—?" he managed to gasp, but the world began to spin violently. The sounds of the officers' commands faded, his vision blurred, and his muscles went slack. He felt himself being pulled down, the ground rising to meet him.

The last thing he saw before darkness enveloped him was the panicked face of the officer who had tased him, showing that bewilderment coupled with fear, as if he had just realized they were no longer hunting a man, but a creature entirely beyond their control.

Suddenly, everything went black, the chaos of the street fading into silence.

As Alpha Valle slowly came to, his sharp eyes scanned his confined space. He felt a surge of anger and helplessness, remembering he was at the mercy of those who wanted to control him. Strong chains and advanced technology held him captive, rendering his powers useless.

An officer approached, sneering. "Thought you were invincible? Now you're ours."

Valle stared back, unafraid. "You underestimate me," he growled, his muscles tensing against the restraints.

The officers laughed, confident in their control. "Save your energy, freak. You're not escaping."

But he remained determined, watching and waiting for a chance to break free. He knew it wouldn't be easy, but he was patient, biding his time until the perfect moment to strike.

As the officers left, Valle saw his chance. He used his powers to breathe ice onto the chains that held him. Slowly, ice formed, covering the chains. With a burst of strength, he broke free.

Valle then used his power of invisibility to hide. He moved quickly and quietly through the facility, avoiding the officers.

When he reached the outside, he realized he had to change his appearance to avoid being caught. He waited until dark and then went to a clothing store. He broke the window and grabbed some clothes.

In a hidden alley, Valle changed into his new clothes. He then cut off his dreadlocks, leaving his past behind. The sound of the scissors echoed through the night, a reminder of what he had to do to be free.
