Chapter 11 - i am a wolf

Alexa stepped out of her sleek, silver Audi Q5, the warm sunlight glinting off the car's luxurious curves. She had worked tirelessly for Leonard for four months, and her hard work had paid off - literally. The substantial paycheck she received allowed her to indulge in luxuries she had once only dreamed of, including this stunning vehicle.

With a sense of pride and accomplishment, Alexa walked towards the daycare, her high heels clicking on the pavement. She pushed open the door and was immediately greeted by the sound of children's laughter and chatter. Her eyes scanned the room, searching for her five-month-old daughter, Rahilla.

As she entered, Rahilla's eyes locked onto hers, and she stretched out her tiny arms, giggling excitedly. "Mama!" she cooed.

Alexa's heart melted as she scooped up Rahilla, showering her with kisses. "Hey, my sweet darling! How was your day?"

Rahilla giggled and squirmed in her arms, clearly happy to see her mother.

As Alexa bid the staff goodbye, Rahilla continued to giggle and chat excitedly, clearly eager to share her day's adventures with her mother.

As they walked out of the daycare, Alexa noticed a man struggling to soothe his fussy child. The child was red-faced and screaming, while the man looked frazzled and helpless.

"Hi, do you need some help?" Alexa asked, approaching him.

The man looked up, clearly relieved. "Oh, thank you. I don't know what's wrong with her. She's been crying nonstop for hours."

Alexa smiled sympathetically. "Let me try." She gently took the child from the man and began to rock her gently. "Shh, it's okay, little one. You're safe."

To Alexa's surprise, the child calmed down almost immediately, her sobs subsiding into gentle sniffles.

"Wow, thank you," the man said, looking amazed. "I don't know what you did, but you're a miracle worker."

As they continued to chat, Alexa found herself relaxing in the father's presence, enjoying their easy banter and lighthearted jokes. He seemed genuinely interested in getting to know her, and she couldn't help but feel a spark of connection.

But just as the conversation was flowing smoothly, Alexa's senses were suddenly heightened. She caught a whiff of a familiar scent, one that made her heart skip a beat. It was a scent she thought she'd never experience again, one that brought back a flood of memories and emotions.

Her eyes widened, her heart racing as if trying to escape her chest. "Alpha Valle?" she whispered, her voice barely escaping her lips.

The man before her stared back, confusion etching his features. "I'm sorry, what did you say?"

Alexa blinked, momentarily engulfed by a tide of memories. "It's nothing, really... I just need to go."

Alexa paced nervously in her exquisitely appointed living room, where the exquisite decor and tasteful furnishings did little to quell her unease. The space was adorned with rich fabrics, and large windows allowed golden sunlight to pour in, casting warm patterns on the polished hardwood floor. Yet, despite the beauty surrounding her, her worried footsteps resonated like thunder in the tense atmosphere.

The sudden sound of the front door creaking open and then slamming shut jolted her from her spiraling thoughts. Leonard, her closest confidant, burst through the doorway, worry etched across his face. "Alexa! What's going on? You sounded frantic. Tell me what's happened!"

She gestured for Leonard to take a seat, her voice shaking with urgency. "Leonard, please, just sit down for a moment. There's something crucial I need to share with you."

As he settled onto the plush couch, his eyes remained locked onto hers, brow furrowed with concern. "Alright, I'm all ears. What is it?"

Gathering her courage, Alexa inhaled deeply, grounding herself. "Leonard, this might sound completely absurd, but I need you to believe me. I am a wolf."

Her declaration hung in the air, and Leonard's initial response was unexpectedly loud; he erupted into laughter, the sound echoing off the walls of the elegantly decorated room. "Oh, Alexa! You really had me worried there for a second. I thought something serious had happened. You always come up with these wild stories. You should've just said you wanted to hang out and crack jokes—I'm always in for that!"

Alexa's gaze locked onto Leonard's, her expression grave and unwavering. "This isn't a joke, Leonard. I'm being completely serious. I am a wolf."

Leonard's laughter faded as he studied her intense demeanor. Confusion replaced the humor on his face. "You can't expect me to believe that. Werewolves and shape-shifting? Come on, Alexa. We've known each other too long for that."

Suddenly, a fierce resolve ignited in Alexa's eyes. She inhaled deeply, shutting her eyes to concentrate on the powerful energy pulsing within her. In an astonishing display, her body began to transform right before Leonard's eyes. Her figure morphed, her human traits melding into those of a stunning wolf. She stood tall, her sleek silver-gray fur shimmering subtly under the soft glow of the overhead lights.

Leonard sat frozen, eyes wide, disbelief washing over him in waves. He gaped in awe as his closest friend transitioned into this magnificent creature, the wolf standing regally in the middle of the stylishly decorated living room, its presence commanding and otherworldly.

His mouth dropped open, the weight of reality crashing down around him. "Alexa... I... How...?" he stuttered, at a loss for words to convey his shock.

As if sensing his bewilderment, Alexa allowed the transformation to reverse, returning to her human form. She looked at Leonard, her vulnerability laid bare. "It's all true, Leonard. I've kept this from you for so long."

A heavy silence enveloped the room, thick with a mixture of awe, disbelief, and a dawning realization. "Alexa, I never saw this coming. It's a lot to take in," he managed to say, still reeling from the revelation.

"Yes, I know. I'll offer a proper explanation later, but right now, this isn't the main issue."

"This is... you're a wolf, and that isn't the main issue? OH MY GOD!" Leonard exclaimed, his voice a mix of excitement and confusion, struggling to comprehend the enormity of what he'd just witnessed.
