"Damn it," Lime muttered, scanning his stats with a sigh. "We lost a lot of biomass just to regenerate properly. If this keeps up, we need some kind of regeneration ability in our next evolution."

Asil buzzed beside him, his wings fluttering lightly. "I'm ready to evolve whenever you say, Master!"

Lime chuckled. "Not yet. We need to set up a few things first."

Asil hummed in understanding. "Of course! I can't wait!"

Lime glanced at his stats again and suddenly froze.

"Wait... four skill points?" His body rippled in surprise. "Hold on—MY CLASS GETS SKILL POINTS TOO?!"

For a moment, he just stood there, processing the revelation. Then, his entire gelatinous form quivered with excitement.

"That means I basically have double the skill point gain!" He grinned. "This is perfect! I don't have to hold back anymore—I can actually buy more skills!"

But he forced himself to calm down. "Not yet. I still need to level up more and absorb as many cores as possible."

From what Asil had told him before, the first level mostly had weak monsters, many of which didn't even have cores. The bear was an exception—it had likely been hunting for easy prey.

"Too bad it ran into us instead. Tehehe."

Now, they needed to go deeper. They had three options: dig down, find a gate, or locate an already-dug tunnel.

"Should I buy a digging skill? Or should I just start digging normally?"

He tapped one of his tendrils against the ground, thinking.

"I'll try digging first. If it's too slow, then I'll consider the skill."

Lime turned to Asil, grinning. "What do you say? Ready to hunt and dig?"

Asil flapped his wings excitedly. "I'm always ready to do stuff with you, Master!"

"Alright then! Let's DIG!"

Lime extended multiple tendrils, pressing them into the dirt. Using his slime-like body to his advantage, he wrapped around small clumps of soil and began pulling them apart piece by piece.

It was slow work. He wasn't made for digging, and Asil wasn't much help—his stinger wasn't suited for breaking through the earth. But Lime kept at it.

An hour passed.

Two hours.

Three.

By the time he had dug a sizable hole, the familiar ding of the system echoed in his mind.

[You have gained a new skill: Digging (Lv. 1)]

Lime froze, then a wide grin spread across his face.

"Whoa. That means I don't need to waste skill points on basic skills!"

Excitement surged through him. "I can save them for evolving skills instead!"

He renewed his efforts, digging even more vigorously. By the end of the day, his new skill had already reached level 3, but he was utterly exhausted.

Lime slumped against the side of his hole, his body slightly deflating. "We should rest. Maybe hunt something small for dinner."

Asil perked up. "Yes!"

They set off through the tunnels, eventually spotting their target: a lone deer with massive, towering antlers.

Lime narrowed his eyes. Strange. Those antlers are way bigger than usual…

But that didn't matter. This was still an easy kill.

"Asil, air support."

The moment he spoke, Asil shot into the air, his wings buzzing fiercely. Meanwhile, Lime dashed forward.

The deer reacted instantly. Its legs tensed, and it charged straight at him, lowering its massive antlers like spears.

"Not so fast."

A fireball erupted from Asil's position, slamming into the deer's leg. It screeched in pain and collapsed, losing momentum.

But before Lime could land a finishing blow, the deer's legs glowed faintly—then it shot sideways in a burst of speed, narrowly dodging his attack.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" Lime yelled. "I THOUGHT MONSTERS HERE WERE WEAK—WHY IS EVERYTHING I FIGHT CRACKED?!"

The deer zigzagged unpredictably, dodging every elemental attack thrown at it.

Lime's eye twitched. You wanna play like that? Fine.

"MASS EXPANSION!"

His body swelled, growing rapidly in size.

Asil took the hint and swooped directly at the deer, forcing it to focus on dodging his strikes.

Now!

Lime lunged forward with his now-massive form. The deer tried to leap away, but with so little space to maneuver, it couldn't escape in time.

BAM!

Lime's weight slammed into the deer, sending it crashing against a tree. Its legs twitched weakly—it was no longer able to stand.

Lime loomed over it.

"GET CRUSHED!"

He dropped his massive body onto the deer, finishing it instantly.

[You have slain a Level 7 Forest Deer.]

Lime took a deep breath, letting the flames around him die down.

"Nice. This should be enough food for now."

He turned to Asil with a proud grin. "Good work, as usual!"

Asil beamed. "Hehehe, thank you, Master!"

---

Lime went back to the hole and started digging again after eating the deer "i can feel the mana getting denser...its small but it's there", few hours later the hole was many meters deep and his level in digging reached level 5 "ooo..I think..I think we made it!" Seconds he dig a hole a fell into the floor below, he could feel the mana here is much stronger than below "finally, this is where we belong asil, I hope more monsters have core!"
