Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

The noise coming from the inside already reached her ears. She can tell that this place is already crowded. Since she is saying goodbye and this is her last day to bond with Adeline, Hazel agreed to come with her friend.

Adeline told her that there is a small gathering party arranged by their school clubs. It was a walking distance from the university. Since Hazel trusts herself and her alcohol tolerance, she did not hesitate to join them.

Besides, she got busy focusing on Theo these weeks marking her completed first month of work. This is her time to unwind herself a little and to shake off her problems. She got tired from walking from one professor to another professor earlier. The university is big too, so walking back and forth up and down the buildings exhausted her.

Adeline held her hand and accompanied her to a table with eight students, who looked familiar to her.

"We are here!" Adeline announced their entrance, making her voice louder than the music playing in the background.

Hazel sat down and everyone smiled at her. She gave back the smile and answered their little questions about her. Adeline does all the talking and giggling. Her friend knew that she was not good with people.

Although the people here are all students like them, she still can't compete with Adeline when it comes to socialization.

A waiter walked to their table and put down the drinks and foods they ordered. Hazel was about to ask how much it cost when a guy sitting across from her tapped her hand.

"It's on us," he said.

Hazel nodded and smiled at him. The party started and everyone became noisy. They were already singing karaoke and others were laughing and talking to each other.

Adeline leaned onto Hazel's shoulders and said. "I still feel sad about you transferring to another university. Don't you want to be friends with me anymore?"

She is a bit tipsy and all of this drama is not new to Hazel. Adeline is always like this whenever they go out to drink. She is always the saver of the lady.

"We are still friends. I will just go to a better university to get the course I wanted," Hazel replied, trying to take the glass from her friend's hand.

Adeline moved her hands away from the lady. She knew that Hazel would tell her to stop drinking. However, she is in the mood right now. Besides, she will indeed feel sad about Hazel. The alcohol gave her courage to blabber what she really wanted to say from her mind.

"I just can't–believe that you bumped into that Alpha.." She mumbled. "You know Alphas are trash. They are bad people."

Adeline tried to open her eyes. She blinked a few times before looking straight at Hazel. "Don't hesitate to call me, okay?" she raised her fist and said. "If that Alpha did anything bad to you, I'm going to punch him in the face."

Hazel just nodded and did not object at all.

"You should stop. You are already drunk." Hazel insisted.

"I'm not!" Adeline exclaimed. "I know what I'm doing!" She took another glass from the table and took it straight in one gulp.

This left Hazel sighing. She forgot to tell Axel that she might come home late. The Alpha did not ask her either where she would go. He just said that Hazel can take the day off but make sure to come back home safe.

A sudden smile resurfaced on her face when she remembered what Axel said that night she asked for permission. The Alpha told her to be safe.

"Look at you smiling like an idiot there. You are the drunk one, not me." Adeline suddenly fell onto her lap.

Hazel helped the lady to sit down and grabbed her. "You need to stop drinking. You are already drunk. We need to go home." She said, fixing her friend's hair and getting her bag.

Luckily, those men in black are just outside the establishment. They quickly rushed to help Hazel as soon as they saw heer carrying her friend.

"What happened, Miss Hazel? Are you alright?" One of them asked.

"I'm fine, my friend is really drunk right now." Hazel fixed Adeline's scarf because the night is already cold. "Can we bring her to her house?" she asked.

Those five men in black looked at each other and then nodded. "The boss told us to make sure to aid you if you need anything," One of them said, tapping the other one to ask him to bring the car.

"Thank you," Hazel said.

Seconds have passed and the car is already in front of them. They all headed inside. Hazel took Adeline's phone and tried to ask her the address of her new condo.

Adeline came from a rich family. She wanted to be independent and live a simple life. That's why even though her family has money to let her study in a prestigious university, she chose the school she was studying at right now.

She mentioned earlier that she moved to a more convenient condominium walking distance from their university. The problem is, Hazel forgot to ask her the room number.

"Where to?" The driver asked.

"Oceana Sky Condominium Tower." Hazel replied.

"We will take the other route for a short cut, Miss Hazel. Is it okay with your friend?" One of the men asked.

Hazel nodded. "Yes, just please bring me a tissue."

She put the tissue closer to her because she did not want Adeline to throw up next to her. She did not bring any clothes either and she will feel guilty if her friend throws up into this expensive car owned by Axel.

Hazel sighed and leaned her head on the side of the car window. She observes those closing shops on their way and the cars passing by along with the blinking lights of the busy city.

She felt lightheaded and her eyes started to feel heavy. The alcohol from earlier is already kicking into her and she might fall asleep.
