Minutes before…
Those two men woke her up, while Adeline was already snoring next to her. Hazel was mesmerized as soon as she saw those blinding lights coming from the chandelier hanging in the middle of the expensive ceiling.
She was trying to get back from the sleepiness inside the car. Now that she is fully awake, the alcohol inside her body is also circulating through her blood. She feels a little drowsy and dizzy. This led her to grab the man standing next to her.
"Miss Hazel, are you alright?" The man asked.
Hazel stood straight and nodded her head. "Yeah, I just need to go to the bathroom." she mumbled.
Although her voice was barely audible, the man standing next to her quickly signaled her hand to ask the receptionist about the bathroom. He went back to Hazel and asked again.
"Can you go there yourself, Miss?"
The lady nodded her head and then scanned her surroundings to look for her friend. They are sitting in the lobby and even though she is wearing jeans and a shirt, the cold air coming from the air condition was still tickling her skin, making her shiver.
She sighed in relief when she saw her friend sleeping on the couch. Those men of Axel are reliable indeed. This helps her to relieve the stress she was feeling. She didn't know what to do if she was the only one here assisting Adeline.
She already knew that her friend is wasted when drunk. Unlike her, who can tolerate her alcohol tolerance, Adeline will go all the way just to enjoy alcohol. This is why she was always with her whenever they would go out drinking.
Hazel sat down for a little. Feeling dizzy made her strength disappear. She should have asked those men to stop on the way to get a drive thru coffee for her just in case. She couldn't blame herself, she fell asleep too.
"Miss Hazel, are you alright? What do you want us to do with your friend?" One of the men asked her again.
Hazel looked up to him. "What did the receptionist say?" she asked.
"We already told the receptionist that Miss Adeline is here. Since they have a strict policy, they needed Miss Adeline's ID and room card number for confirmation." He answered.
This left Hazel in despair. Adeline is sleeping peacefully. She did not want to just get her bag and rummage through it. It will be rude even though they are close.
Suddenly, her thoughts crumbled all in her head. Her surroundings slowly turned blurry and the voices and noises coming from the lobby deafened her sense of hearing. Hazel stood up all of a sudden.
"Please watch Adeline for a second. I really need to go to the bathroom," she said.
"The bathroom is in the right corner after the second elevator on the left." The man wearing black said.
Hazel just nodded and followed his instructions. She was trying hard not to trip or fall down because it would become an embarrassment. She was lucky that even though there are a lot of people walking back and forth on the first floor, they are not looking at her.
She walked slowly, tracing those tiled floors reflecting the glass chandeliers above her. She noticed the sign above the corner quickly and a smile came up to her cheeks.
She badly wanted to wash her face so bad. There are already several shapes coming inside her head. That alcohol had a strong aftertaste. She enjoyed the get-together so much that she didn't even ask what kind of alcohol they were ordering.
Finally, she reached the corner of the bathroom. She was about to walk past the elevator when it opened.
Hazel's eyes widened, and couldn't believe who she just saw. Wishing that this is only the effect of her drunkenness, she paused and rubbed her two eyes. That silhouette standing in front of her did not disappear.
The owner of that silhouette also looks confused. Such a small world for her unlucky fate.
"What are you doing here?"
His voice brought shivers to the lady, making her freeze. Her body moved on its own when Axel grabbed her and gently let her lean against the wall.
Axel looked around, maybe he was looking for his men and as soon as he noticed no one, the side of his eyes turned sharp.
"I'm fine, don't worry." Hazel quickly said after noticing the Alpha's expression.
"Your men are with my friend. I told them to look after her while I'm gone," she added.
The Alpha hesitated but his nose immediately smelled the strong scent of alcohol coming from the lady.
"Where have you been?" He asked, slightly displeased. He had no right to ask but even his mouth had its own way to express what he is feeling right now.
"I told you to fix your stuff today. Have you been drinking?" He questioned.
Hazel was pierced with those sharp eyes. She gulped and felt her throat suddenly dried up. It looks like the Alpha will kill her if she lies.
"I'm not!" She exclaimed. "My friend invited me to a get together party. I don't want to turn her down since this is—"
"Do you know what time it is?" Axel cut her words off that quick.
He had no interest in knowing that friend of hers. He is concerned about the omega walking in this big hotel knowing that there are a lot of Alphas roaming around to catch her.
Hazel leaned her back onto that wall to fully support herself. She did not want the Alpha to find out how dizzy she was. This embarrassment was already enough for her.
"I know it's late, but please let me explain," She insisted. "My friend lives here and I asked your men if they can accompany me to drive my friend home because she is very drunk."
Hazel continued to explain. Her cheeks were red as tomato while exp[laining and so were her lips that quiver everytime she would utter a word. These are the things that distract Axel.
His eyes were on her lips. His hands moved and cupped the lady's cheeks. He tilted her chin up and made her look at him.
Though to Axel's surprise, Hazel tightly closed her eyes.
Is she waiting for a kiss?
