A massive Onix erupted from the light, its serpentine body of stone coiling high above the battlefield. It let out a deep, rumbling roar, causing the very ground beneath them to tremble.
The crowd gasped at Onix's sheer size.
Even Professor Oak was impressed. "A fully grown Onix… Stone isn't holding back."
"Onix has a huge size advantage. This might be enough to turn the tide." Sais Sir alex but his face show that he dont think onix will be enough to defeat Giovanni.
Across the arena, Giovanni remained completely unfazed.
His Rhyhorn, though smaller, stood its ground, eyes locked onto its new opponent.
Giovanni crossed his arms. "Let's keep going. Rhyhorn, charge."
Mr. Stone wasn't going to waste time.
"Onix, use Bind!"
Onix lunged forward, its enormous rocky body coiling around Rhyhorn like a massive snake.
The Rhyhorn disappeared within Onix's crushing grip. Rhyhorn now move faste than onix.. swifly avoid onic advance.
Professor Oak: "A bold move! If Onix can keep this hold, Rhyhorn will run out of stamina quickly!"
But Giovanni remained completely calm.
"Rhyhorn, counter with Megahorn!"
A bright green glow surrounded Rhyhorn's horn as it let out a powerful roar.
With immense force, Rhyhorn swung its head upward, piercing through Onix's rocky coils.
The impact was so powerful that Onix flinched, momentarily loosening its grip.
Taking advantage of the opening, Giovanni wasted no time.
"Now, use Ice Fang!"
Everyone's eyes widened.
"Rhyhorn can use Ice Fang?!" someone in the crowd shouted.
Before Onix could react, Rhyhorn lunged forward, sinking its ice-coated fangs into Onix's rocky body.
A chilling mist spread from the bite, causing Onix to shudder as frost formed on its stone exterior.
Zen, watching from the stands, clenched his fists. "That's bad… Rock-types are weak against Ice!"
Onix let out a pained roar, struggling to shake off the frost.
Mr. Stone gritted his teeth. "Onix, shake it off! Use Rock Slide!"
Despite the pain, Onix reared back and smashed its tail into the ground, sending large boulders tumbling down toward Rhyhorn.
The massive rocks came crashing down, slamming into Rhyhorn's body.
Dust and debris filled the air.
For a moment, nothing could be seen.
The audience held their breath, waiting to see the result.
As the dust settled, Rhyhorn was still standing.
It was battered, bruised, and breathing heavily, but still standing.
Giovanni's smirk widened.
"You fought well, Rhyhorn. Now, let's finish this."
With a nod, Rhyhorn lowered its head.
Mr. Stone's eyes narrowed.
"Onix, stop it before it moves! Use Iron Tail!"
Onix's tail glowed silver, swinging downward like a wrecking ball.
But Giovanni was one step ahead.
"Rhyhorn, Endure, then use Counter!"
As Onix's Iron Tail slammed into Rhyhorn, the small but sturdy Pokémon dug its feet into the ground, absorbing the attack.
Then, with all of its remaining strength, it charged forward with Counter, delivering double the damage back to Onix.
A sickening CRACK echoed through the gym as Onix let out a deafening roar.
It swayed for a moment… then crashed to the ground with a thunderous impact.
BOOM!
Silence filled the gym.
Ray raised his hand.
"Onix is unable to battle! Rhyhorn wins!"
The entire gym exploded with cheers.
"GIOVANNI! GIOVANNI! GIOVANNI!"
Rhyhorn staggered slightly, clearly exhausted, but stood tall.
The crowd's excitement reached a fever pitch, they had just witnessed an incredible fight.
"Unbelievable! Rhyhorn has now defeated TWO fully evolved Pokémon in a row!" Said prof Oak
Zen, still processing what happened, muttered, "How is that possible…?"
Even Stone, for the first time in the battle, hesitated.
He looked at Giovanni, who was still calm and composed, as if nothing had happened.
"Was I wrong to challenge him…?"
Shaking off his doubts, Stone clenched his jaw.
He reached for his third Pokéball.
"Dugtrio, let's go!"
A flash of light, and three burrowing heads emerged from the ground, their eyes sharp and ready.
For the first time, Giovanni recalled Rhyhorn.
Everyone expected him to send it back out,after all, it had won two battles in a row.
Giovanni calmly reached for another Pokéball.
"You've done well, Rhyhorn. Take a rest."
Then, with a casual flick of his wrist...
"Golem, you're up."
A huge, boulder-like Pokémon landed with a thud, its piercing eyes locking onto Dugtrio.
Zen's heart pounded.
"This is it.. real pokemon battle"
