Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Son of the Night

Silence hung heavy in the air. The celestial glow over Luke's head flickered like a starry sky, before disappearing into the void.

"That... that doesn't make sense," muttered Annabeth, her grey eyes analyzing Lucas like an impossible puzzle. "The primordial gods don't claim children. It never happened."

Lucas, still on his knees, felt a shiver run up his spine.

Was he really Nyx's son? How was that possible? He wasn't even from this world!

Before you could ask, Chiron approached Luke. His gaze was grave.

"Lucas," he said, his voice advanced with wisdom and education. "If Nyx has indeed claimed you... it means that very ancient forces are moving. This could be a sign that something big is coming."

Lucas's stomach churned. He knew it was cliché. Whenever something "big" was about to happen in the world of Percy Jackson, there were monsters, prophecies and disasters along the way.

And he was right in the middle of it.
