Chapter 1 - second chance.

Melissa sat quietly on the couch, her frail frame draped in simple clothes that hung from her like the burdensome weight of her heartache. With dark circles outlining her tired eyes, she cradled a steaming cup of black coffee, carefully sipping it as if savoring the only warmth in her cold world.

The once-golden strands of her hair fell about her face, looking almost ethereal in their disarray, but there was a dullness to her beauty—a lingering sadness that painted her features.

Ding!

Message alert sounded.

The sudden sound of her phone's message alert broke the heavy silence that hung in the air.

Curiosity fluttered within her, but also fear. It was from an unknown number. With trembling fingers, she pressed the screen open, her heart racing in her chest.

Her breath hitched as she read the cruel words: "

[ Even if you're Mrs. Reynolds, you're just a normal wife shamelessly occupying that position for five years. Has Evans ever looked at you even once? He slept at my place last night. If I were you, I'd find a rope and hang myself. You're just an interfering homewrecker. ]

Ugh!

Her heart sank into despair.

"A homewrecker?" she gasped, the term cutting like a knife. Tears streamed down her cheeks, blurring her vision.

Before she could collect herself, another alert chimed—a photo. She didn't want to see it, but her curiosity got the better of her.

As she opened it, anguish twisted her gut; there lay Evans, asleep, his expression serene. Nestled against him was Cathy Hudson, their intimacy struck her heart like a dagger.

She felt betrayed, her heart and soul felt as if they were being pulled out of her body as she pressed her chest.

No… not again!" Melissa wailed, feeling the world around her shatter.

Consumed by despair, she fled to the balcony of their grand mansion, She gazed down at the ground below, contemplating a release from her pain.

With a heavy heart, she whispered.

"If there's another life for me in future..., l won't be bellied...

In my next life.., l will rewrite, my fate...and it shall be.

*REVENGE BEST SERVED HOT"

That's only if there's a next time...

Anyway.

Closing her eyes, she let herself fall, an escape from the torment that weighed down her spirit.

But before she completely lost her breath, as she lay down in the pool of her blood. she regretted why she committed sucide.

"I wish l had just moved on...

Or lived my life to the fullest"

Moments later, her breath ended, then her soul got detached from the body.

The soul stood a sides looking at the body laying in the pool of blood .

"Silly kid...

What come over your mind?

Suddenly, a tall man dressed in black clothes with an old fashioned watch in his waist appeared next to her.

"You regret, don't you?

With furrowed brows, she looked at the dead body on the ground ,then looked at the mysterious man standing next to her.

She nodded her head.

"I didn't deserve to end up like this...

" What if..., your given another chance to live, would you take it?. The man laced with an otherworldly calm.

That was ridiculous, but.....

That question left her bewildered, cause it wasn't possible for a dead person to resurrect.

"It's too late, am already dead.

The man leaned closer, his eyes gleaming with intrigue.

"What if l can help you, rewine time!

What would you do?"

Stunned, Melissa thought deeply. The notion of returning to a previous chapter of her life felt improbable, yet a flicker of hope ignited within her.

"Love my life....,

Live to the fullest."

After hearing Melissa's words , the mysterious man looked at the watch in his waist, then glanced at Melissa.

"There's a price to pay...

You won't be as strong as you were, so, don't give out much blood.

And don't misuse this chance." He said.

He explained the repercussions of time travel: each journey back would weaken her body more. "Now, don't forget your words. Close your eyes."

With one swift motion, he twisted his watch, murmuring,

"I am the Time Keeper."

Melissa felt the world dissolve around her, a sensation of swirling energy enveloping her as her eyes closed tight. The cacophony of sound faded, replaced by a profound stillness.

Then, just as abruptly, she was back. She blinked and found herself once again on the couch, the scent of coffee still lingering in the air.

Am..am back....!

She screamed jovialously.

At that moment, disbelief washed over her, her earlier sorrow transformed into something operatic. It was a second chance at life

She was back, 30 minutes before the incident occur.

And this is how it all began.

In the past five years, She married Evans Reynolds, a man of great charm and looks, but little warmth.

Their marriage, which had never been built with a foundation of love, slowly imcreased into a chilling silence, echoing within the walls of their grand mansion, a place that felt less like home and more like a gilded cage.

Each day was a test of endurance for Melissa. Throughout their five years of marriage, Evans had treated her like a stranger.

Melissa sitted on the couch, her heart heavy as the weight of her life pressed down on her. It was difficult to believe that she had been married to Evans Reynolds for five years.

Five years during which he treated her more like a stranger than a wife.

Each month she found herself giving blood, not just as a donation, but rather as a necessity for Cathy Hudson, the woman Evans seemed to prefer over her.

As Melissa rubbed her temples, she felt a dull ache blooming into a throbbing pain. She had stood outside for nearly an hour yesterday, shivering in the biting cold as she waited for Evans to get off work.

Just as she was grappling with her woes, a message pinged on her phone from an unfamiliar number. With her hands trimbling, she opened a message from an unfamiliar number. The words on the screen instantly crushed whatever remained of her self-respect.

" Homewrecker?"

The term felt heavy, suffocating. Melissa felt the tears spill, blurring her vision. She had sacrificed her family, her friends, and so many of her dreams to be with Evans, only to be reduced to a derogatory label.

In a single moment, her heart shattered into countless pieces.

Just when she thought it could not get worse, another notification appeared, this time revealing a photograph that made her heart plummet.

A photo followed the cruel message. Evans lay asleep, his handsome features perfectly sculpted, an art piece of serenity.

But it was the woman nestled against him—their intimacy so palpable—that made her insides churn.

Cathy Hudson's curled lips showed that she wasn't sleeping rather pretending.

"Ugh!

I won't repeat the same mistake...

It's time to re—write my new fate! "
