Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Roommates

Dumbledore's opening speech was very cryptic, but Noah found that all the Ravenclaw students, including himself, were not surprised by it.

At most, they had already figured out the meaning after thinking for a while. This realization made Noah's mouth twitch.

It wasn't a pleasant feeling. He knew the answer, but these guys had guessed it entirely on their own.

Suddenly, Noah felt like a poor student who had somehow ended up surrounded by a group of academic geniuses.

Of course, this thought didn't last long. Noah was quickly distracted by the food on the table. He had spent most of the train ride sleeping, so he hadn't eaten properly all day and was starving.

Dinner went smoothly, though Noah was quite curious about how Dumbledore had summoned the food out of thin air.

However, he wisely refrained from asking any questions. Obviously, this kind of magic was far beyond what a first-year student could learn.

After dinner, the students from each House were led to their dormitories by their respective prefects.

The Ravenclaw Tower was located on the west side of the castle, serving as both the common room and the dormitory for Ravenclaw students.

Noah and his group soon arrived at a large, airy circular room with elegant arched windows and blue and bronze silk curtains.

The ceiling was a domed structure decorated with stars, while the dark blue carpet below was also adorned with star patterns.

Tables, chairs, and bookshelves filled the room, and in the alcove opposite the door stood a white marble bust of Rowena Ravenclaw.

"This is the Ravenclaw common room," Evan whispered beside Noah. "I heard from my parents that a door next to the statue leads up to the dormitories."

"Really? That's an interesting design." Noah nodded.

The environment here was excellent. Compared to the Slytherin common room, located underground, Ravenclaw Tower was bright and spacious. There was no gloomy atmosphere here—instead, the place gave off an air of elegance and luxury.

Most importantly, there were plenty of books.

Noah hoped that he would have a bright future in this House.

"Alright, everyone," said the prefect, Penelope Clearwater. "Every time you enter, you'll need to answer a question. The answers to these questions can usually be found in the bookshelves here. Of course, if you can't get in, you'll have to wait for someone else to answer and let you in. At the very least, this will help you all learn something new."

After explaining a few more things, she sent the first-years off to rest.

Starting tomorrow, the first-years would officially begin their studies at Hogwarts and start learning all kinds of magic from scratch.

The new students were excited—including Evan, despite his entire family being Ravenclaws. Even though he had heard plenty about the House from his parents, actually being here was a different experience altogether.

However, Noah doubted that anyone in Ravenclaw would be like Harry Potter, unable to sleep out of excitement and waking up late the next day.

Ravenclaw wasn't Slytherin, but many of its students came from wizarding families.

Take Evan, for example. Before arriving at Hogwarts, his family elders had already shared their experiences with him.

"It seems we were really meant to meet," Evan said with a grin. "I didn't expect us to be in the same dormitory!"

When Noah arrived at his assigned dormitory, he was surprised to see Evan walking in right beside him.

Looking at the number on Evan's card, it was clear that they were indeed roommates.

"Yeah, looks like we are," Noah replied with a small smile. "I'm glad to be your roommate."

Walking inside, Noah saw that there were already other people in the dormitory.

That was expected—after all, Hogwarts provided large dormitories, and it would be unreasonable for only one or two students to stay in them.

Their dormitory housed four students in total.

Aside from Noah and Evan, the other two were Lance thurwell and Kenn william.

Just like Evan, both of them came from wizarding families with a tradition of joining Ravenclaw. Their parents or grandparents had studied here before them.

Luckily, they all had pleasant personalities.

Since it was their first meeting, they naturally introduced themselves and chatted for a while.

When they learned about Noah's background, none of them showed arrogance or prejudice.

Thanks to that, Noah quickly got along with them.

"Why do you think Professor Dumbledore specifically emphasized staying away from that place?" Kenn asked curiously after a while.

"I think it's best if we don't talk about that," Lance replied calmly. "Besides, it's already late. We should get some rest."

Lance had a steady personality and wasn't interested in discussing obviously forbidden topics.

Besides, they had classes tomorrow.

If they were late on the first day of school, it would be humiliating.

The four of them quickly reached a consensus and went to bed one by one.

Evan even blew out the candle on the bedside table before lying down.

Noah recalled that their first class was History of Magic, which they would take together with Hufflepuff.

To be honest, the Hogwarts class system was quite interesting.

Each subject combined students from two Houses.

For example, they would study with Hufflepuff in the morning, but they might have a class with Gryffindor or Slytherin in the afternoon.

Of course, some special subjects—like Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms—were taken by all four Houses together.

Noah had no complaints about this system. It probably existed to encourage student interaction and competitiveness.

Closing his eyes, Noah entered the library within his system space.

With the system's help, he had more time to study compared to his peers.

This was a huge advantage.

"If only time in this space could be doubled," Noah muttered. "Like, if one hour outside was two hours in here…"

What he didn't expect was a response from the system.

"That function is possible," the system answered. "However, your current magical power and mental strength are far too weak to unlock it. For now, I can't activate this feature."

"...Huh?"

Noah was stunned for a moment, but then his expression brightened.

"So… that means once I get stronger, I can extend my time here? Not just double it—maybe even more?"

"Correct," the system confirmed. "The stronger you become, the more support I can provide. So, work hard, host."

"That's amazing!" Noah grinned.

But then, a new thought occurred to him.

"By the way… since you're so powerful, who created you?"

"I can't tell you," the system replied. "You're not strong enough yet."
