The Weight of the Ordinary:
Being Spider-Man wasn't about the big fights. It wasn't about the battles against supervillains, the daring rescues, or the city's admiration.
No, the hardest part of being Spider-Man… was everything in between.
The loneliness. The exhaustion. The fear that, one day, all of it would come crashing down.
And none of them knew how close that day really was.

Earth-96283 – The Price of Normalcy (Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man)
Peter sat in a cramped office, shifting uncomfortably in his seat as the man across from him flipped through his résumé.
"Hm. No stable job history, gaps in employment, and a background in freelance photography?" The man raised an eyebrow. "What exactly have you been doing all these years, Mr. Parker?"
Peter forced a smile. "Uh… personal projects?"
The man wasn't impressed. "Look, kid, I won't lie to you. We need reliable people. Someone we can count on."
Peter swallowed. How ironic. The whole city relied on him. But as Peter Parker? He was barely holding things together.
"Tell you what," the man said, setting down the résumé. "I can't offer you anything full-time, but we could use a delivery guy. Pays decent, flexible hours."
Peter hesitated. It wasn't much. But it was something.
"Yeah," he said finally. "I'll take it."
"Good. You start tomorrow."
Peter shook his hand and left the office. Stepping outside, he took a deep breath.
For once, he wasn't swinging through the city or dodging explosions. He was just… Peter Parker.
But as he walked past a television in a store window, his stomach twisted.
BREAKING NEWS: CRIMINAL UNDERWORLD IN TURMOIL – UNIDENTIFIED FIGURE PULLING STRINGS BEHIND THE SCENES?
The image showed a blurred figure, barely visible. But Peter's instincts screamed at him. Something was wrong.
The city was shifting.
And peace never lasted long.

Earth-120703 – A Night of Reminders (Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man)
Peter sat at Aunt May's dinner table, picking at his food. She eyed him, unimpressed.
"Peter, I did not spend hours cooking just for you to mope at the table."
Peter forced a chuckle. "I'm not moping."
Aunt May raised an eyebrow. "You have that same look your uncle used to get. Like the world's weight is on your shoulders."
He swallowed. "Maybe it is."
She sighed, reaching across the table to squeeze his hand. "You can't do everything alone, Peter."
He looked down. He wanted to believe that. But he knew better.
A buzz from his phone interrupted the moment. He glanced at the screen.
UNKNOWN NUMBER: "YOU'RE BEING WATCHED."
Peter's blood ran cold.
He turned quickly, scanning the apartment window, the street outside, the shadows in the alley.
Nothing.
But the feeling remained.

Earth-199999 – The Cost of Being Peter (Tom Holland's Spider-Man)
Peter stood outside a café, waiting anxiously.
MJ finally walked up, hands in her pockets. "You're acting weird."
Peter scratched the back of his head. "I, uh… wanted to do something normal. You know, a date."
MJ smirked. "A date? You, Peter Parker, the world's busiest superhero, taking a night off?"
He sighed. "Okay, I deserved that."
She chuckled. "Come on, let's get coffee."
They walked inside, ordering their drinks. For a moment, Peter felt… normal. No villains, no life-threatening stakes. Just him and MJ, teasing each other over bad coffee.
Then it happened.
A small, barely noticeable flicker at the edge of his vision. His Spider-Sense tingled—but not like usual. This wasn't a warning of immediate danger.
It was something else.
MJ snapped her fingers in front of his face. "Earth to Parker?"
"Huh?"
"You zoned out."
Peter shook his head. "It's nothing. Just… a weird feeling."
MJ rolled her eyes. "Welcome to being a college student."
Peter laughed, but the unease didn't fade.

The Threads Tighten
Far away, deep in a hidden base, a large screen flickered.
Doflamingo watched each of the Spider-Men, smirking.
"Oh, they're catching on." He leaned back, taking a sip of wine. "But it's far too late for that."
He snapped his fingers.
And the first move of his game began.
