Chapter 13 - The Fallen Stars and the Birth of Vengeance

The Moon's Tale

The Moon continued, her voice soft and nostalgic.

"It was so many centuries ago. The great emperor of the Milky Way was waiting for an heir. Then, one day, a blue star was born in the depths of the bright clouds in the Queen Nebula.

She was bright and beautiful, her light radiating like a sapphire. But her life was in constant danger. Many would do anything to steal her core, for she held the powers of a queen. The emperor and queen never let her out of their sight. Yet, to her, the palace at the center of the galaxy—guarded by black holes—felt more like a prison. She had everything but freedom.

She would try to escape constantly, but every time, she failed.

Her mother, the queen, decided after seeing her daughter's longing. Secretly, she sent the princess to me, the Moon, to learn about the galaxy in disguise as a regular star.

She was a good girl, though sometimes naughty. She loved peeking into human dreams. She was the one who first discovered how to see dreams, and she bestowed me with the power to see and influence them.

The little stars chimed in, 'Then some of us can see dreams too?'

The Moon nodded. 'Yes, the stars who are near me can also see dreams.'

She was a fast learner.

But one day, I saw her crying. It became a regular occurrence.

I asked her about the dreams she was watching, and she showed me him.

It was a time when humans roamed the wild, wearing animal skins and wielding barely crafted iron weapons. Villages dotted the world, each with its own culture—some beautiful, others horrifying.

There was a boy in a small village. He was hardworking, with two younger sisters and a mother. His father had passed away. They were farmers, tending to many cattle and sheep. He was a shepherd, caring for his flock with love.

One day, his naughty little sheep ran away. He followed it to another village, hiding in a bush as he watched his beloved lamb die, unable to breathe. Tears streamed down his face like an endless spring.

That was the first time I saw him—Steve, the slave boy.

His sheep were like family to him. After its death, he was haunted by nightmares.

The princess, who could see both night and day, developed sympathy for him. I don't know why, but out of all the brutal things happening across Earth, she saw something special in him. Perhaps it was just a teenager's first crush.

She became completely enamored with him. Over the years, she began talking to him in his dreams.

But then, on a winter night, tragedy struck. His mother died in front of him, and he was enslaved.

The princess tried to descend to save him, but I stopped her. 'We celestial beings do not interfere in human matters. You are a princess—act like one. If you reveal yourself, your disguise will be uncovered, and I won't be able to protect you. Forget about him. This is for your good. You and he cannot be together. Please, understand.'

She stood there, tears streaming down her face. But they continued to talk through dreams.

She was madly in love with him. One day, she descended in a blaze of blue light, escaping my sight.

Dressed in a flowing blue gown, she appeared in the sky, her light glowing softly. She floated down, her feet touching the ground, causing the earth to glow blue beneath her.

Some of the villagers tried to attack her, but a single glare from her deep blue sapphire eyes made them bleed to death. They died in agony, their eyes streaming with blood.

She killed them as mercilessly as they had killed the lamb."

Then, everyone saw her as a god. They let Steve go with her.

I thought she would kill Lilith, but she spared her because, in her own twisted way, Lilith had been kind to Steve.

Magi held Steve's hand, and the wounds on his body healed. He began to glow with a soft blue light, like the Moon glowing under the sun's rays.

Magi's tears fell as she whispered, "I'm sorry I was late."

Steve simply smiled, his eyes locked on hers. They hugged, floating into the sky together.

Magi burned Lilith's father's hut in blue flames, and Lilith's heart shattered into countless pieces. Hatred and revenge grew within her, spreading like wildfire.

After that, Lilith left the village, killing everything and everyone in her path.

Meanwhile, Magi shared some of her power with Steve, transforming him into a celestial being—an orange star brighter than the sun.

But trouble was brewing. The emperor of the Milky Way had already promised Magi's hand in marriage to Zyron Andronis, the prince of the Andromeda Galaxy.

Zyron had been dreaming of Magi for years, only to discover she had chosen someone else. He thought, She's young. Little kids make mistakes. Steve should know his place. Maybe he's manipulating her. I have to end him.

Zyron knew the perfect person for the job: Lilith.

No one in the galaxy dared to kill a celestial being, but Lilith would. Zyron spoke to her in her mind, commanding her to kill Steve. He transformed Lilith into a black star, capable of draining and killing other stars, and gave her a celestial-killing weapon.

Lilith's plan was to kill Magi and take Steve back to Earth.

Magi and Steve were hiding from the emperor, but Zyron discovered their location and sent Lilith after them.

Lilith tried to backstab Magi with her massive sword, but Steve stepped in the way, taking the blow. He died instantly, and Magi was killed by Lilith shortly after.

Lilith was imprisoned for centuries in the depths of darkness, where not a single ray of light reached. She wasn't executed because of Zyron's influence.

That's all I know. Zyron must have helped her escape and sent her to Steve now. Lilith tried to reclaim what she had lost in her previous life but was too late. Instead, she found someone who loved her more.
