The air combat mecha Tornado and the G-0 War Lord were merged into one.
"The fusion is complete, the fit is 100%, master," Christina's intelligent voice sounded from the mecha cockpit.
"Very good!" Luke nodded in satisfaction.
This idea was inspired by the anti-Hulk armor that was going to be introduced in Avengers 2. Tony and Banner had designed a capture plan specifically for the Hulk, though the results weren't as impressive. Compared to the Hulkbuster, the G-0 War Lord was even larger and bulkier.
The Hulkbuster armor stood at around 3 meters tall, and considering Tony's height of 1.8 meters, it seemed more like an extension of Tony's Iron Man suit. Meanwhile, the G-0 War Lord stood 6 meters tall and 6 meters wide, resembling a giant cube.
Originally, the Hulk was 1.2 meters tall, but after enhancements, he now stood at 1.5 meters. The contrast between the Hulkbuster and the War Lord was striking. This was a truly large armor compared to a small one.
The advantage of this design was that the combat portion could be separated from the cockpit. In case of an emergency, Luke could escape, and the Storm could be restored to an independent mecha.
Luke was always terrified of dying.
In this broken world, full of constant crises, his first priority was always his own survival, followed by how best to stir up trouble, but only after ensuring his safety.
Only by staying alive could he make a difference.
Considering that the energy shield was insufficient and couldn't be moved once deployed, the separate design for the G-0 War Lord was essential.
Luke removed the first and second-level sensors, radar, fire control, external armor, and other unnecessary components from the Tornado and transferred them to the War Lord.
All of the previous weapon mounting points of the Tornado had also been uninstalled. Now, it only retained the supersonic power system, lightweight armor, and operating system.
Finally, a new transmission system was installed, merging it with the G-0 War Lord. All previous materials were replaced with titanium alloy.
The overall height of the Tornado increased by 0.3 meters, ensuring that Luke could lie in the cockpit instead of sitting upright.
Not long ago, Luke gave Christina a mission codenamed Pacific Rim. Christina's AI programming abilities were far beyond Luke's understanding of coding.
The results of the first phase of the plan were used on the Tornado.
Given that Luke often piloted mechas and performed complex fighting maneuvers, and would use sword techniques in the future, the old keyboard command system no longer met his needs.
Thus, Luke replaced the Tornado's control method with two long dragon horn joysticks, complemented by two pedals under the cockpit that wrapped around his feet, allowing him to control the mecha like riding a bicycle. In this way, his body movements could be fully reflected in the mecha's actions.
Luke got the inspiration for this control method from Pacific Rim and an old cartoon called Dragon Ball.
The mecha's fire control and weapon firing were handled by Christina. Luke only needed to issue commands and focus on controlling the mecha's movements.
Luke's ultimate goal was to achieve complete brain-wave control with Christina's help.
According to Christina's estimate, if there were no unexpected issues, she could complete this project within 6 months.
At that time, Luke would truly achieve the unity of man and machine!
The mere thought of it filled Luke with excitement.
"If actual combat proves that this separation design works, we could one day create a mechanical god of war called Gaboga and control it in the same way," Luke thought to himself.
Once again, in a moment of bad taste, Luke transformed the G-0 War Lord's appearance beyond recognition.
From the outside, it was no longer possible to tell that this mecha had originated from the heavens.
The most eye-catching external designs were on the head and shoulders of the mecha.
Typically, the robot head was where the sensors were located, but it was actually unnecessary. Luke didn't just keep the head; he gave it an inverted triangular human face, which looked quite peculiar.
The mecha's eyes could glow, but they were ultimately useless.
On both shoulders of the body, there were three enormous golden dragon claws, making the machine appear majestic and domineering.
The overall color scheme of the machine was: white, black, gold, and a little red on the chest.
Additionally, there was a massive red cloak attached to the mecha's back, giving it a grand and imposing look.
Luke lay in the cockpit, gripping the two long dragon horn joysticks with both hands. The transmission system beneath his feet powered up. The voice of the twenty-foot-tall man echoed: "Superpower transformation! Sword King Dragon God!!"
Christina cooperated, "It's time, Xiaolu!"
Luke conjured a 6.5-meter-long mecha giant sword out of thin air and couldn't help but shout, "Must-kill! The King of Swords - Denglong Sword!!!"
In the fish tank behind him, Ross's little eyes blinked, as if looking at a fool.
At that moment, the G-0 War Lord was ready to go, awaiting the Justin Hammer Expo the next day.
"Master, I have a question," Christina asked, her voice tinged with confusion. "What are these small slots reserved for?"
In front of Luke, between the two slender dragon horn joysticks, a platform protruded outward. On it were six small, identical grooves, all empty.
These were the power centers of the Storm, and inside the platform were where the colorless small crystals were to be stored.
When Luke designed the grooves, it was clear they were intended for something specific.
"You're right, assistant. These empty slots are reserved for something valuable."
"Something valuable?"
Luke chuckled and replied mysteriously, "Here in the Marvel world, there's something called… Infinity Gems."
"Infinity Gems?"
"Uh-huh."
Luke took a sip from his milk carton and admired the results of his work from the past month through the warehouse's camera. The more he looked, the more satisfied he became.
Ross climbed out of the fish tank, crawled onto Luke's shoulder, and asked, "Do you want to be a bitch?"
"You're cheap," Luke replied, frowning. "So cheap, raising the price of the magic box. The scar's healed and you've forgotten the pain, huh?"
Luke shot Ross a side-glance.
Ross laughed nonchalantly, "I'm asking, do you want a sword?"
Luke was stunned. "You mean a sword?"
"Look at this, look at this," Ross said, stretching out a meaty tentacle and pointing at the giant mecha sword in the G-0 War Lord's hand on the screen. The octopus's face was full of human-like contempt. "What kind of broken sword is that?"
"This is the best I could make," Luke said.
He had spent a great deal of time deciding on the appearance of this sword. It had taken him 12 minutes just to recall the style of the Denglong Sword.
"A long time ago, those foolish adventurers challenged me with their best weapons," Ross said, chuckling sinisterly. "Meahaha, all their swords became part of my collection. Want one? I can give you one."
"You still have a sword? Why didn't I see it? Where is it?"
"Of course, it's stored in the system. It's the collection of all the apostles' resources... Ahem, do you want it or not?"
Luke thought for a moment and then nodded. "Yes, of course."
Ross immediately responded, "Beep, system task released."
"Eh—"
Ross continued, "Issuing the mission: The Trial of Despicableness. Pick up your sword and start causing trouble, young man! The more despicable your methods, the greater the effect of spreading the apostles' glory, and the higher the score you will earn…"
Luke interrupted, "Why are we measuring this by cheapness?"
"Because the reward is a sword."
"It seems to make sense..."
Ross added, "The score you earn will determine the quality of your reward. The higher the score, the better the reward blueprint. The scores are: E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, and SSS. They correspond to no reward, white equipment, blue equipment, purple equipment, brave, artifact, legend, and epic."
"3S score to get epic? How hard is that?" Luke asked curiously.
"I think with your current level, you'd be lucky to get an A grade at best," Ross replied with a hum.
"Is it that difficult? I think I'm cheap enough already."
"Obviously not cheap enough!"
"Can I see the reward first?"
"You can only see it after you get the rating."
"Okay... I'll take the mission, but don't cheat me. By the way, why do you always beep before issuing a mission?" Luke asked curiously.
"It's a beep. Don't you like it? I can change it to 'ding.' Do you want it to beep or ding?"
Luke considered this carefully. He scratched his head, smiling. "Oh, so tangled, so hard to choose..."
