(Chapter 7)
The atmosphere grew more tense as Lorcan Frostborne stood alone before the attackers trying to breach the border wall. The onlookers, watching the battle unfold, couldn't contain their awe and fear. Amid the chaos, the attackers, once numerous, were now reduced to only a few.
"He's truly incredible!" one of the attackers shouted in anger. They had failed again, and this defeat felt even more painful after several previous unsuccessful attempts.
In the past, they had managed to defeat the Frostborne family, but now, with Lorcan leading, everything had changed. His power far surpassed anything they could have imagined.
"How is it possible that his eyes can always read our movements?"
"That's not a human eye, that's unimaginable power!" another yelled. "Attack him together! There must be a gap!"
Lorcan was not only a master of the sword but also a practitioner of lightning and fire magic, which made the attackers even more fearful. But the most terrifying aspect was his eyes, which seemed to perceive every move they made. The leader of the attacking group, known for his strength, could only watch from a distance, feeling a fear he had never experienced before.
"If we defeat him, we can take control of this land! This land will be ours!"
However, Lorcan pressed forward, his speed unpredictable for the attackers who were used to battle. They began to question how a human could possess such power.
"Attack with full force! Rain down attacks on him!"
"Impossible! We've already been defeated by a smaller force!"
"Sir, we must retreat! We can't continue this!"
"Is there no magic that can trap him?"
"He can read all of our attacks, my Lord!"
"This is disappointing! His eyes can discern our patterns!"
"He's far stronger than we thought!"
Lorcan showed no mercy. He swiftly eliminated the remaining attackers without hesitation. The attacking forces, witnessing this, were filled with fear, but even as they trembled, they pressed on. By the afternoon, their only option was to retreat in disgraceful defeat.
"We did it! They've retreated! Don't let any of them escape!" one of them commanded.
Aedric Thornshade, an aide, approached Lorcan and informed him that victory had been achieved. However, Lorcan's gaze indicated that he was not satisfied with the outcome.
"Our strength is still not enough to attack their territory, Your Majesty," Aedric said, attempting to calm Lorcan.
Lorcan listened, but his heart still burned with unrest. His desire to end it all was held back by the emergence of a new threat in the forbidden lands, a forest that hid even more terrifying mysteries.
"Our forces are still insufficient. We must strengthen our army," Aedric continued.
"For how long?" Lorcan asked coldly.
"From the information we've gathered, we still don't know where the source of the threat is," Aedric replied hesitantly.
Lorcan nodded slowly, his eyes still filled with an unwavering determination. "We must move quickly before they can form a new strategy," he said firmly.
'We will find the source of their threat, and we will stop it forever,' Lorcan thought, his spirit still burning. As a leader, he was not only responsible for victory on the battlefield but also for a safer future for all those under his protection.
