In the 515 dorm, Wang Dacui and Shen Qiao joined the gaming squad, while Li Haoyang, still in a bad mood, was curled up in his blanket, brooding.
Luo Ye and Su Baizhou, both highly skilled, dominated the game and racked up kills.
The next morning, with no classes, Luo Ye quickly got up and washed up.
He glanced at Li Haoyang's window and noticed that the guy was still hiding under his blanket.
It was unusual; the guy who used to be the first to go for a morning run was now moping around.
Luo Ye didn't say anything and headed straight for the track.
Once at the field, Luo Ye scanned the area but couldn't spot Fairy Senior anywhere.
Odd, she wasn't here today?
Just then, a voice called from behind.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
Luo Ye turned around and saw the familiar figure of Su Baizhou, dressed in her usual black loose clothes, with a black cap covering her ponytail.
So, she hadn't come yet, but now she was here.
"Senior, what a coincidence! You came for a morning run too?" Luo Ye said with a wide smile, acting innocently.
"Hmm, quite a coincidence," Su Baizhou responded as she came up beside him, adding in a calm tone, "Aren't you starting yet? This time, I won't let you slack off."
"No need," Luo Ye waved his hand dismissively. "Senior, just follow your usual pace."
During their first run together, Su Baizhou only ran three laps with Luo Ye. But today, Luo Ye was determined to impress her.
The two of them began running side by side on the track.
"You don't have any classes today?" Su Baizhou asked softly as they ran.
"I have one in the morning and one in the afternoon. How about you, Senior?"
"I only have six classes a week," Su Baizhou answered casually.
Luo Ye couldn't help but show a bit of envy. "Wow, being a third-year student must be nice. You have so much free time."
"By the way, Senior, has the student union's election finished yet?" Luo Ye suddenly asked.
"Not yet," Su Baizhou replied without much expression, clearly not interested in chatting while running but feeling obligated to answer since Luo Ye asked.
As they continued to run, she realized that maybe she didn't mind talking while running after all, especially when the one running with her was Luo Ye.
Soon, they completed three laps.
The first time Luo Ye ran, he was completely out of breath by the third lap, practically gasping for air. But today, after about half a month of regular running, he was just slightly winded.
After six laps, Luo Ye collapsed onto the grass on the track, dripping with sweat. The weather was cooling down as autumn approached, and the morning chill hit him, making him shiver.
Noticing this, Su Baizhou reached into her bag and pulled out a towel, handing it to Luo Ye.
"Thanks, Senior," Luo Ye said, taking the towel and wiping the sweat off his face.
The towel had a distinct fragrance, one that Luo Ye had smelled before in the family dorms' bathroom. So, this was the towel Su Baizhou always used?
"Here, take it. Remember to bring it next time you run in the morning, or you might catch a cold."
"What about you, Senior?" Luo Ye asked.
"I'll buy a new one," she replied, turning to leave.
Seeing him still sitting on the grass, she paused and asked, "Aren't you going to eat, Junior?"
"Eat! Eat! Eat!" Luo Ye jumped up in excitement but immediately felt dizzy as he stood too quickly, almost losing his balance.
He knew the feeling—standing up too quickly after sitting still for a while would always make him dizzy.
But he quickly steadied himself, coughed lightly, and said nonchalantly, "Senior, let's go."
Su Baizhou couldn't help but smile inwardly at his silly antics before continuing on her way.
The two of them walked side by side down the school road.
Luo Ye had never imagined this scene before. Walking alongside Su Baizhou in broad daylight, heading to the cafeteria, felt surreal.
It was 8:10 AM, and the first class was at 8:30. Many students were rushing to their classes, and the cafeteria was already bustling with people eating breakfast.
They headed toward the third cafeteria, which was located near the female dormitory.
As they entered the cafeteria, Luo Ye slowed down and kept a few meters of distance behind Su Baizhou. He didn't want people to misunderstand their relationship.
Su Baizhou, dressed in black and wearing a cap, rarely showed any signs of being recognized. Unless someone recognized her face, which was unlikely because most students at this hour were too busy with their own affairs to pay attention to others.
However, Su Baizhou didn't really care if anyone recognized her.
Looking back, she noticed Luo Ye following a few meters behind. "What's wrong?" she asked softly.
"I… I have social anxiety, Senior…" Luo Ye scratched his head awkwardly.
"You have social anxiety?" Su Baizhou raised an eyebrow, clearly skeptical. She found an empty table and propped her chin up, staring at him with an amused expression.
Luo Ye stood there, confused for a moment, then quickly realized what she meant.
Ah, she wanted him to buy breakfast.
Luo Ye suddenly felt very clever as he remembered the mornings when Su Baizhou bought breakfast at the dorm. That was her daily breakfast routine.
So, he quickly rushed to the counter, bought two eggs, two oil sticks, and two hand-held pancakes, and returned to the table.
When Su Baizhou saw the food, she frowned. "Are you sure this is the same as what you bought at the dorm?"
But seeing the expectant look on Luo Ye's face, she didn't want to spoil his effort. Instead, she nodded. "Alright, we'll stick to this standard from now on."
And so, Su Baizhou's breakfast routine changed. She used to eat the same few things every morning, mostly due to her difficulty in making choices. But now, she simply ate whatever Luo Ye bought for her.
Was this what it felt like not to have to think about things?
Su Baizhou realized she understood why so many people liked being in relationships—having someone take care of you, not having to think about everything yourself, and being able to rely on the other person when problems arose.
Looking at Luo Ye, Su Baizhou felt her heart race a little.
At first, she had been able to stay aloof and distant from him, emitting an air of "don't get too close." But now, it was hard to stay indifferent. Luo Ye had become like a little sun that warmed her heart, and she couldn't bring herself to act cold anymore.
After breakfast, Su Baizhou was heading back to her dorm to check on her roommate, Qin Yuwen.
Luo Ye, though he didn't have class until 10:20, wanted to go back and take a quick nap.
He walked Su Baizhou to the female dorm and stood at the steps, watching her figure disappear into the building.
Suddenly, a voice called from nearby.
"Luo Ye!"
Luo Ye turned around but couldn't see anyone.
"I'm down here!"
A short girl jumped up from the bottom of the stairs, waving her hands to get his attention.
