Chereads / Extra's Strongest Bloodline / Chapter 2 - 2. The World of Bloodline

Chapter 2 - 2. The World of Bloodline

"I'm handsome."

He was now looking at himself in the mirror, smiling narcissistically as he admired his own good looks.

"Alright, from today onward, I am Alpha Extraion."

Alpha Extraion was truly a name that screamed extra.

His first name was taken from the first letter of the Greek alphabet, while his surname was derived from his role as an extra, with "ion" added at the end to make it sound a bit longer.

But he was too lazy to change his identity.

So, he decided to stick with that name.

His stomach suddenly growled, signaling his need for food.

"I want a burger. Does this world even have burgers?"

Shedding his pajamas, he put on casual clothing.

His choice was black jeans, a white T-shirt, white sneakers, and a black hooded jacket. He also wore a necklace with a mysterious pendant. Just in case, he tucked a dagger inside his jacket. He didn't forget to bring his wallet either.

After that, he left his dorm room in search of food in the city.

By the way, Alpha was a first-year student at Eden Academy.

He was currently staying in the dormitory provided by the academy.

At this moment, he had just finished moving into the dormitory, and his first semester would begin in six days.

Before that started, he had to obtain the Ethereal Bloodline.

'I'll get it after eating,' he thought.

As soon as he stepped out of his room, malicious whispers pierced his ears and stabbed at his heart, coming from the other students who lived there.

"Look, he's just a regular human."

"Why is a human allowed in this sacred academy?"

"A mere human like him shouldn't be in such an elite place."

"He's ruining the view."

"He must have used up all his luck just to get in."

"No, he must have bribed someone inside the academy."

"A talentless loser who only knows how to throw money around."

Hearing all this, Alpha could only lower his head, pull up his hood, and keep walking through the elegant yet hellish corridor.

'It hurts, you know? I never even wanted to be here. But when I opened my eyes, I was already in this place,' he thought sadly.

Right now, this was all he could do.

After all, he had no abilities or achievements to slap them in the face with.

But he swore that one day, he would take his revenge by becoming the brightest star in this academy.

Eden Academy didn't conduct entrance exams. Those with a high-tier Bloodline were automatically accepted. However, because of the rarity of such candidates, Alpha, who had applied just for fun, was accepted simply to fill the quota.

Bribing someone inside the academy? That was impossible for him. He was just a poor orphan from a small orphanage.

Once again, in this world, status and power were determined by Bloodline.

Equality was something that would never be achieved here. On Earth, a person's status was determined by external factors like money. But here, it was different.

In this world, inequality had been deeply ingrained in every layer of society for generations, all thanks to Bloodlines.

Those with weak Bloodlines would inevitably be oppressed. Meanwhile, those with strong Bloodlines ruled.

On Earth, equality could be achieved as long as there was a majority vote.

But here, if thousands of weak people fought for equality, a single strong individual could wipe them out as easily as flipping a hand.

This was a world where violence reigned supreme.

To survive, one needed a powerful Bloodline.

Alpha finally left the academy and gazed upon the beautiful, ancient city.

As expected of a western fantasy world, the buildings in this city were stunning, with gothic architecture. Although they weren't as tall as modern buildings, they were beautifully made of stone and adorned with intricate ornaments.

There were no cars or trucks on the streets, only horse-drawn carriages. However, these were not pulled by actual horses, but by mechanical ones.

Looking up at the starry night sky, he could also see floating islands with magnificent castles on them.

Alpha walked through the bustling, sleepless city.

He searched for a restaurant that sold burgers.

Throughout his walk, he couldn't stop looking around, taking in the beautiful yet unfamiliar sights.

'I really am in another world,' he thought with a smile.

Before long, he found what he was looking for.

Stepping into the restaurant, he placed his order before taking a seat by the window. He ate his burger while watching people walk along the sidewalk and observing the city from behind the glass.

'One of the requirements for obtaining the Ethereal Bloodline is eating. It's like taking medicine, huh?' he thought with a chuckle.

Suddenly, a mysterious black sphere appeared in the middle of the street outside.

"Abyss!" someone screamed in terror.

This was a fantasy world.

If fantasy races like elves, vampires, and dragons existed here, then it was only natural that supernatural disasters did as well; disaster far beyond earthquakes and tsunamis.

Abyss—that was what the people here called it.

It appeared as a floating black sphere.

But it possessed an incredibly strong gravitational pull, sucking everything around it into its depths.

Those who got swallowed would be transported into another dimension filled with unimaginable dangers.

"Damn it!" Alpha cursed as he, along with the people nearby, was pulled into the Abyss.

It all happened in an instant.

His ears heard the panicked screams of the crowd.

His eyes saw tables, chairs, glass, burgers, walls, and countless other things being sucked into the black sphere.

And his body felt the pull of an invisible force.

In the end, he was too weak to resist and could only surrender to the Abyss.

After entering the Abyss, his eyes saw a world with an apocalypse genre.

Alpha now stood inside a ruined modern city.

Skyscrapers were damaged and covered in moss.

The asphalt roads were cracked, with grass sprouting through the fissures.

Abandoned motorcycles and cars lay scattered everywhere.

"So this is the Abyss."

But beyond his field of vision, there were man-eating monsters lying in wait.
