Chereads / Extra's Strongest Bloodline / Chapter 3 - 3. Reader Power

Chapter 3 - 3. Reader Power

To escape from the Abyss, one must destroy its Guardian.

Alpha immediately discarded that thought.

But… "There's no harm in testing my strength as an ordinary human before obtaining the Ethereal Bloodline, right?"

He looked around, searching for any monsters to test his power against.

However, what he saw were victims like himself—terrified and anxious.

Ignoring them, Alpha walked away.

"Wait, you! Where are you going?" an old man called out to him.

"Looking for monsters," he answered honestly, glancing back.

"Don't be foolish. It's better to wait for rescue."

The old man didn't have bad intentions, he was just overly concerned about others.

"I really appreciate your concern. But please don't worry. I have knowledge that will help me."

Leaving the old man behind, Alpha walked away. The old man could only shake his head at the reckless young man.

'According to the novel, to use a Bloodline, one must channel Magic into the Runes within their body. Let's see if the information from the novel can be applied in reality.'

Magic was a spiritual energy originating from the soul.

Although Magic was energy, it wasn't like electricity that could kill instantly—it was only useful when consumed.

According to the novel Zeus's Abandoned Descendant, using Magic required imagination.

First, imagine a ring.

Then, imagine a pool of water.

After that, imagine the water floating through the ring.

Alpha followed these steps.

A sudden warm sensation spread from his head. This was a sign that his Magic had successfully flowed from his soul into his body.

"It worked!" he exclaimed in excitement.

The sensation came from his Magic.

When he directed his Magic to his hands or feet, those organs also felt warm.

"Next is the Rune."

Within the Bloodline, there were Runes—programs that could generate phenomena by consuming Magic.

Unlike Magic, which resided in the soul, Runes were located within the body.

Their exact location varied, but in the case of the Adam Bloodline, Runes were always found within the heart.

So, Alpha channeled his Magic into his heart.

At first, there were no visible changes to his appearance, except for a faint black glow - aura- radiating from his skin.

However, he could feel a drastic transformation within his body. His muscles tensed and hardened like steel forged a thousand times, yet remained as flexible as a whip, ready to destroy anything in his path.

"Wow!"

He tested his strength by punching a nearby wall. A loud explosion rang out, and the wall instantly dented.

Meanwhile, his hand remained completely unscathed.

"Is this the power of the weakest Bloodline? Then how strong is a god-tier Bloodline?" he muttered in awe, shaking his head.

However, the loud noise from his actions inadvertently attracted a monster.

A creature crawled out from within a building, revealing its disturbing and terrifying appearance.

Its body resembled a human's, but it moved on all fours like a beast. Its flesh was exposed, lacking skin, and blood constantly oozed from its body. Its eyes glared with pure hatred, as it had no eyelids to blink. Its yellow, venomous-looking teeth were fully visible due to the absence of lips.

Alpha shuddered at the sight of the monster.

Instinctively, he drew a dagger from his jacket.

"Aaaarrrcchh!" The monster let out a scream—a raspy, human-like shriek.

Using all four limbs, it charged toward Alpha.

"Hiii!" Alpha trembled.

He had left with confidence, but now that he had encountered an actual monster, he couldn't stop himself from shaking.

After all, this was his first time facing a monster.

It was inevitable.

But he refused to run away. He was certain he could kill at least one monster.

His eyes locked onto the creature, waiting for the right moment.

The monster swung its claw at him as soon as it got close.

Afraid of getting injured, Alpha instinctively slashed his dagger toward the monster's arm, successfully severing it.

"Aarrrch!!!" the monster shrieked.

Losing one of its limbs, it collapsed to the ground.

Alpha saw his chance.

Without hesitation, he swung his dagger down at the monster's neck, decapitating it in one swift motion.

The head rolled across the floor.

"I won," Alpha muttered before cheering, "Yeah!"

To others, his achievement might seem insignificant.

But to him, it was his first victory in this world. Of course, he was happy.

That small achievement also boosted his confidence.

"Alright, I'll look for more monsters."

He then entered the building where the monster had emerged.

The building was large and tall, with multiple floors. It seemed to have been an office in the past.

Now, however, it was covered in moss, its walls cracked as if they could collapse at any moment. The dim lighting, cold air, and eerie silence made Alpha shudder as if he were inside a haunted house.

"Arrch… Arrch… Arrch…"

A disturbing sound echoed from the distance, making him tense up.

But instead of running away, he sought the source of the sound.

Walking down a corridor, he came across a door.

Carefully, he peeked inside.

But what he saw right away was the bloodied face of another terrifying monster—staring back at him from the narrow opening.

"Uwaaah!!" he screamed in shock.

"Arghhh!" Amusingly, the monster was also startled.

Alpha quickly stepped back, putting distance between them while preparing a battle stance.

Meanwhile, the monster kicked the door down and leaped into the corridor.

"Come at me!"

Alpha planned to use the same strategy—waiting for the monster to approach.

But this one didn't charge at him.

Instead, it puffed up its cheeks and suddenly spewed a stream of blood from its mouth.

"What?!" Alpha was shocked by this unexpected ability.

His instincts kicked in, moving his body just in time to dodge the blood projectile.

But the monster wasn't done—it kept firing blood bullets, forcing Alpha to keep dodging without a chance to counterattack.

"Damn it."

But he wasn't out of ideas.

'This is a gamble. If I fail, I'll have no choice but to run—or die.'

Resolving himself, he pulled his dagger back before swinging his arm forward, throwing the blade at the monster.

It was a high-risk attack.

If he missed, he would lose his only weapon and be left defenseless.

But he was lucky. If he weren't, he wouldn't have been reincarnated in the first place.

The dagger struck right in the monster's forehead. Its head jerked back before its body limply collapsed to the floor.

"Perfect," Alpha smirked, proud of himself.

"Arrch…"

But that disturbing sound still echoed.

Alpha furrowed his brows, growing uneasy.

The sound was coming from behind him.

Slowly, he turned around—only to be greeted by the sight of dozens of monsters at the end of the corridor.

Their bloodshot eyes glared at him with hatred. Their yellow teeth, ready to tear him apart, were exposed. The stench of blood from their bodies filled the air.

"This is too many… Besides, my Magic is almost depleted. There's no way I can win."

He knew when to give up.

Even his body was trembling, unwilling to face them.

"It's time to obtain the Ethereal Bloodline."
