Jonathan having finished the academy with great achievements was expecting to start working immediately on a new and fresh case. Upon starting the first day of work he was treated as any other rookie being given a cold 7-year-old case. Trying to hide his disappointment takes the file box of this case and is shocked to see the file named Luna. In the academy they were taught that cases were assigned numbers or dates. Seeing the box in front of him having a name came as a strange thing to him. He did not make too much out of it.
Little did he know that there were certain reasons that the case was named that way and why no one wanted to have anything to do with it.
While walking to his desk he did not notice everyone's stares at the box in his hands. That dreaded case had finally seen the light of day again. He noticed one of his fellow detectives walking towards his desk.
Detective Frank: Tough luck rookie. Of all the cold cases you could get you get the most dreadful one. (he chuckles while saying this to Jonathan)
Jonathan: What do you mean by that Frank? Is it not just another cold case …
Frank: Well have you ever seen a case with its own name on the box? This one is what got detective Carter to go insane and then commit suicide. Some say he got to the end of the case but what he discovered scarred him to insanity. And good luck with the only surviving victim(hahaha)
He then just left having dropped a bomb on Jonathans hand. Jonathan confused starting opening the box only to find out it contained so little evidence and only info about the dead girls. There almost no info on the sole survivor. The only thing there was her name Luna.
He then opened his computer. Started searching her name there he found a lot of articles with her name and each one of them was telling a different story the only common thing they had was that Luna had become mute since the accident. No matter how hard everyone had tried including the late detective Carter she had shown no reaction not even a nodding. Feeling a bit crushed he went back to the archive hoping that he might have missed another box or there were somewhere else documents relating to the case.
Only to have his hopes crushed when talking to the archive worker.
Jonathan: I think I missed a box or is a box somewhere else on my cold case
A.Worker: What case was that could you give me a number
Jonathan: I do not have a case number but I have a case name "LUNA"
Upon hearing the case name the workers face went dim. Seeing that, Jonathan got scared.
A.Worker: You will not be able to find any other box or files on that dreadful case. What we have on the case is in the box you have the rest got lost after detective Carters death. I can only tell you to ask his widow but I doubt she will be of any help.
Jonathan: Thanks, any way
Having been a bit crushed upon discovering this he just decides to go back to his desk to find out more about this case from the only extra resource he has left the web.
