Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Hunter or Hunted

đź“Ť Location: Streets of Lagos

đź•— Time: 6:23 AM

(Viper floored the accelerator of the battered pickup truck as they tore through the maze of Lagos streets. Ghost sat in the passenger seat, reloading his pistol with quick, practiced movements. Behind them, three black SUVs gave chase, their engines roaring like predators in pursuit.)

🔊 Viper: "Hold on to something!"

(The truck swerved sharply, barely missing a fruit vendor setting up for the morning. Horns blared. People shouted in anger. Ghost steadied himself, peering out the window to assess the situation.)

Ghost: "Three cars, maybe six operatives total. Heavily armed."

Viper: (grinning) "Sounds like a fair fight."

(She yanked the wheel, steering the truck into a narrow alleyway. The SUVs followed, their tires screeching as they struggled to keep up. Viper glanced at Ghost.)

Viper: "You trust me?"

Ghost: "Do I have a choice?"

(She laughed, a wild glint in her eyes, and slammed on the brakes. The truck skidded to a halt, spinning sideways to block the alley. Ghost leaped out, taking cover behind a dumpster as the SUVs screeched to a stop.)

(The first SUV's door flew open. A man in tactical gear stepped out, his rifle raised. Ghost didn't wait. Two quick shots from his pistol and the man dropped before he could fire.)

Viper: (from the driver's seat) "Nice shot. Now move!"

(Ghost sprinted toward the second SUV as more operatives spilled out, their guns blazing. Bullets ricocheted off the walls, sparks flying. Ghost ducked and returned fire, his shots precise and deadly.)

(Viper joined the fight, popping out of the truck with her rifle. She took down two more operatives with quick, efficient shots. But the third SUV had circled around, cutting off their escape.)

Ghost: "We're boxed in!"

Viper: "Not yet!"

(She reached into her backpack and pulled out a small device with blinking red lights.)

Ghost: "Is that what I think it is?"

Viper: (grinning) "C4. You're welcome."

(She tossed the explosive toward the lead SUV and ducked behind cover. Ghost barely had time to cover his ears before the alley erupted in flames. The shockwave knocked him back, but when the smoke cleared, the lead SUV was nothing but twisted metal.)

(The remaining operatives hesitated, clearly shaken. Ghost didn't give them a chance to recover. He charged forward, taking them down one by one. By the time the last operative hit the ground, the alley was silent except for the crackling of fire.)

Viper: (walking up to him) "Not bad for a dead man."

Ghost: (panting) "Not bad for a lunatic."

(She smirked and tossed him the truck keys.)

Viper: "Drive. We've got somewhere to be."

đź“Ť Location: Hidden Safehouse, Lagos Mainland

đź•› Time: 9:12 AM

(The safehouse was a small, unassuming apartment tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Inside, Viper spread a map across the dining table, marking key locations with a red pen. Ghost leaned against the wall, watching her.)

Ghost: "So, what's the plan?"

Viper: (not looking up) "We hit them where it hurts. Chief Donatus has a private vault in Ikoyi. Cash, intel, weapons—you name it. We take it, we cripple the Society."

Ghost: "And then what? They'll just come after us again."

Viper: "Not if we take out Donatus first."

(Ghost frowned, his mind racing. Taking out Donatus was easier said than done. The man was protected by an army of operatives and layers of security. It was suicide.)

Ghost: "You're serious."

Viper: (meeting his gaze) "Dead serious. He betrayed us, Nathan. He made us expendable. This isn't just about survival anymore. It's about revenge."

(Ghost looked at her, seeing the fire in her eyes. He understood. He felt it too. But revenge was dangerous. It clouded judgment. Still, what choice did they have?)

Ghost: (nodding) "Fine. What's the next move?"

Viper: "We need someone who can get us into the vault. A hacker."

Ghost: (sighing) "I know a guy. But he's not going to like this."

📍 Location: Underground Cyber Café, Surulere

đź•’ Time: 11:27 AM

(The cyber café was hidden beneath an abandoned electronics store. Inside, the glow of computer screens lit up the faces of young hackers working on who-knows-what. Ghost and Viper pushed past them to the back room, where a man in a hoodie sat typing furiously on a custom-built rig.)

Ghost: "Kingsley."

(The man froze, his fingers hovering over the keyboard. He turned slowly, his eyes widening when he saw Ghost.)

Kingsley: "Nathan? You're supposed to be dead."

Ghost: "Yeah, well, things didn't go as planned. I need your help."

(Kingsley shook his head, leaning back in his chair.)

Kingsley: "No way, man. I don't mess with the Black Mamba Society. They find out I'm helping you, I'm dead."

Viper: (stepping forward) "You don't have a choice. If they win, we're all dead."

(Kingsley hesitated, glancing between them. He could see the determination in their eyes. Finally, he sighed.)

Kingsley: "Fine. But this better be worth it."

📍 Location: Ikoyi—Vault Prep

đź•• Time: 6:45 PM

(With Kingsley's help, they mapped out the vault's security system. Cameras, motion detectors, armed guards—it was a fortress. But Kingsley had a plan. He would hack into the system remotely, creating a five-minute window for Ghost and Viper to infiltrate.)

Kingsley: "Five minutes. That's all you get. If you're not out by then, you're on your own."

Viper: (grinning) "Five minutes is all we need."

(Ghost wasn't so sure. But there was no turning back now. They were in too deep. And if they were going to take down the Black Mamba Society, they needed to hit hard and fast.)

Ghost: "Let's do this."
