Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: The Divide of Olympus

Olympus was no longer united.

Not in war.

Not in faith.

But in fear.

The Gathering of the Gods

The great halls of Olympus had never been so silent.

Aphrodite stood by the golden pillars, her usual radiance dimmed as she watched the sky—a sky that no longer felt like their own.

Hephaestus sat at the great table, his hammer resting against the stone, silent in thought.

Dionysus had not touched his wine.

Hermes, the fastest among them, had stopped moving.

Because they had all felt it.

The war was reaching them.

And soon, Olympus would have to choose a side.

The Divisions Begin

Hera spoke first.

"This is madness," she said, her voice sharp, unyielding. "They are breaking the balance of the divine plane."

Ares laughed. A cruel, bloodthirsty sound.

"Breaking the balance? No, my queen." His eyes burned with war. "They are rewriting it."

Athena crossed her arms. "And if they succeed? What happens to Olympus then?"

There was no answer.

Because no one knew.

The Gods Who Stood for Olympus

Hera would not stand for it.

Neither would Athena—not yet.

They had spent too long keeping order, ruling over gods who had once thought themselves invincible.

If Olympus lost its place as the center of the divine plane…

What were they then?

The Gods Who Watched With Wonder

Demeter did not speak.

She did not choose a side.

Because her heart was torn.

And she knew she was not alone.

Aphrodite, Hermes, Apollo—they watched, uncertain.

Did they cling to Olympus?

Or did they embrace the unknown?

The Gods Who Wanted War

Ares grinned.

"I say we let them burn the old world down."

Dionysus swirled his goblet, watching the ripples of wine as if they held the answer.

He did not deny it.

Because part of him agreed.
