Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: The Aftermath of Battle

As the sound of horses' hooves grew louder, Zerthon, Omirnn, and Naelyria stood ready, their swords drawn and their hearts pounding with anticipation. They knew that the battle ahead would be fierce, but they were determined to emerge victorious.

But before the battle began, Zerthon knew that he had to get Tessie to safety. He turned to Naelyria and Omirnn, his eyes locked on theirs.

"I need to get Tessie out of here," he said, his voice firm. "Can I trust you two to hold off the enemy while I get her to safety?"

Naelyria and Omirnn nodded in unison, their faces set with determination.

"Don't worry, Zerthon," Naelyria said. "We've got this. You get Tessie to safety."

Zerthon nodded, his eyes locked on Tessie. He rushed to her side, scooping her up in his arms.

"Let's get you out of here," he said, his voice soft.

Tessie nodded, her eyes wide with fear. Zerthon could feel her trembling in his arms, and he knew that she was still shaken by her ordeal.

As Zerthon carried Tessie out of the windmill, Naelyria and Omirnn stood ready, their swords drawn and their eyes fixed on the approaching enemy.

The enemy was a group of heavily armed warriors, their faces twisted with cruel intent. Naelyria and Omirnn charged forward, their swords flashing in the sunlight.

The battle was fierce, with Naelyria and Omirnn fighting valiantly against the enemy. But despite their bravery, they were vastly outnumbered.

Just when it seemed like the enemy was about to overwhelm them, Omirnn unleashed his incredible strength, sending the enemy flying. Naelyria took advantage of the opening, striking down enemy after enemy.

As the battle raged on, Zerthon carried Tessie back to her home, where Eira was waiting anxiously.

"Tessie!" Eira exclaimed, rushing to her daughter's side. "Oh, thank the gods you're safe!"

Tessie smiled weakly, her eyes still haunted by fear. Eira pulled her into a tight hug, holding her close as she sobbed.

Zerthon watched, his heart heavy with emotion. He knew that Tessie had been through a traumatic experience, and he was determined to make sure she was safe.

As Eira comforted Tessie, Zerthon turned to leave. He knew that Naelyria and Omirnn were still fighting, and he wanted to join them.

But as he reached the door, Eira called out to him.

"Zerthon, wait!" she said, her voice urgent.

Zerthon turned, his eyes locked on Eira's.

"What is it?" he asked, his voice firm.

Eira's eyes were serious, her face set with determination.

"I know what's going on," she said. "I know about the prophecy, and I know about the true enemy. And I'm telling you, Zerthon, it's not just about defeating the enemy. It's about uncovering the truth."

Zerthon's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with questions.

"What do you mean?" he asked, his voice firm.

Eira's eyes locked on his, her gaze intense.

"I'll tell you everything," she said. "But first, you have to promise me one thing."

Zerthon nodded, his heart pounding with anticipation.

"What is it?" he asked, his voice firm.

Eira's eyes seemed to bore into his soul.

"You have to promise me you'll protect Tessie," she said. "No matter what happens, you have to keep her safe."

Zerthon nodded, his heart heavy with emotion.

"I promise," he said, his voice firm. "I'll do everything in my power to keep Tessie safe."

Eira nodded, a small smile on her face.

"I knew I could trust you," she said.

As Zerthon turned to leave, Eira called out to him again.

"Zerthon, wait!" she said.

Zerthon turned, his eyes locked on Eira's.

"What is it?" he asked, his voice firm.

Eira's eyes seemed to gleam with a hint of mischief.

"I have something for you," she said. "Something that will help you on your journey."

Zerthon's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with questions.

"What is it?" he asked, his voice firm.

Eira smiled, a small, mysterious smile.

"You'll see," she said.

And with that, Eira handed Zerthon a small, intricately carved box.

"What's this?" Zerthon asked, his eyes locked on the box.

Eira's smile grew wider.

"Open it and see," she said.

Zerthon's eyes narrowed.
