Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 – A New World and a Decision

Fangyan leaned back casually in the chair beside him, his cold and sharp eyes fixed on the large hologram at the front of the classroom.

Moving images displayed the civilization of this world. Humans fought against terrifying creatures emerging from Gates—dimensional portals connecting this world to monster-infested realms. Hunters stood at the forefront, utilizing the System to enhance their strength, defeat monsters, and dominate valuable resources.

"So, this is how this world operates," Fangyan thought.

He observed how Hunters relied on digital statistics displayed by the System, how they hunted, evolved, and fought to survive and grow stronger.

But for Fangyan?

None of it was interesting.

He had already experienced all of this before—seeking power, climbing to the pinnacle of the world, defeating challengers who dared to oppose him. He had no interest in monsters, dungeons, or even this System. The only thing that mattered was whether this world would become an obstacle to him or not.

If the world left him alone, he would let it be. But if it dared to stand in his way, just like before...

He would conquer it.

The Desire to Leave

Fangyan finally rose from his seat, his steps calm yet filled with authority.

"Alright, I've seen enough," he said flatly. "I'm leaving."

The entire class fell silent.

The students, who had been watching Fangyan with curiosity, began whispering again.

"What does he mean by leaving?"

"Does he think this place is an inn?"

"Who exactly is this guy?"

But before anyone could question further, the class instructor spoke up

"Wait."

Fangyan paused for a moment, his unreadable gaze settling on the instructor.

The instructor now looked irritated. His brows furrowed, and his eyes locked onto Fangyan with sharp scrutiny.

"You appeared out of nowhere, and now you suddenly want to leave? This academy is not just some ordinary place."

Fangyan remained silent.

"We need to know who you are, where you came from, and how you managed to enter this academy without being detected by our security system."

In an instant, the atmosphere in the room grew tense.

Some students activated their Systems, seemingly preparing for a confrontation. Meanwhile, others took cautious steps back, aware that the situation could escalate at any moment.

Yet, Fangyan merely looked at them with an indifferent expression.

"There's no point in asking that," he finally said. "Where I come from, who I am, or how I got here… none of that matters to you."

His gaze turned even colder, piercing into the souls of those who met his eyes.

"The only thing that matters is whether you intend to stand in my way or not."

Silence filled the room. No one dared to speak.

The instructor stared at Fangyan intensely, but deep inside, he felt something unsettling. An invisible pressure made him instinctively wary.

This man… was no ordinary human.

And for the first time in his life, he wondered—could even the System fail to measure the strength of someone like Fangyan?
