After vanishing from his car, Leon appeared in an unfamiliar location with all the items he had been carrying on his person at the time of his disappearance from Earth.
This validated his theory.
Humans and animals that had disappeared from Earth weren't dead. They were just sent to another space with everything they were carrying or wearing at the time of their disappearance from Earth!
Leon felt sorry for all the people who had committed suicide back on Earth after their friends, families, and loved ones were swept away by the inexplicable disaster and disappeared into thin air.
Because they believed disappearing meant death, they thought they had nothing left to live for after everyone they knew disappeared from Earth. They thought it was only a matter of time before their turn to die came, so even forming new connections felt like a vain way to mentally and emotionally torturing themselves and others.
Thus, to escape a reality where they had nothing and could hold on to nothing, they ended their lives, leaving the world forever.
If only they had held on long enough for their turn to disappear from Earth, they would've realized the truth and might not have committed suicide.
Of course, weak-willed people would still choose the saddest way out after discovering the truth as finding themselves stranded in an alien space with no one by their side wasn't something they could handle without going insane and becoming deeply depressed.
There was no use crying over spilled milk, so Leon stopped feeling sorry and focused on his own goals.
Since his theory was confirmed, it meant that his friends and family would be alive somewhere in this alien space if they hadn't already been killed after arriving here.
He wanted to find them.
Once he had found them, they would search for a way back to Earth together.
"Enemy discovered."
A cold, monotone voice rang out, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Beginning execution."
As he picked up the threatening words, Leon's ears twitched, and a shiver ran down his spine.
The voice came from behind him, sounding alarmingly close.
He turned around quickly, only to have his field of vision compromised by the sight of an incoming metallic fist.
With the passage of every fraction of a second, its reflection in his eyes grew bigger and bigger.
'It's going to crush my face.'
At a glance, Leon determined its trajectory and raised his hands to block.
It would've worked if the iron fist's trajectory hadn't suddenly changed.
Although Leon's arms covered his face, his vision wasn't completely compromised. He noticed the sudden and immaculate change in its trajectory, but wasn't fast enough to react to it, so it was bound to hit him.
Instead of crashing into his guarded face, the iron fist slammed into his unprotected stomach.
"Argh!"
Leon felt like a truck had rammed into him as the fist drove into his gut with such brutal force that it knocked the wind from his lungs, sending him skidding backward.
He skidded back ten feet before coming to a stop. His face turned pale due to the sharp, shooting pain erupting from the place he was hit.
The pain assaulted his senses, making him feel nauseous. Unable to help it, he dropped to his knees and spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Damn, that hurts! What the hell just hit me?" Leon muttered through clenched teeth as cold sweat slid down his forehead.
He fought back against the nauseating pain with nothing but willpower and a sudden rush of adrenaline, then looked up from his kneeling position, getting a good look at the assailant.
His eyes widened to the size of saucers as what he saw left him shocked.
The assailant was a seven-foot-tall figure resembling a human in shape.
However, it was anything but that.
Its head was featureless, save for a single sensor glowing with a red, malevolent light and its body was made of a sleek amalgamation of metallic plates and exposed mechanical joints.
"A—an android?"
A piece of technology he had only ever seen in sci-fi movies or read about in novels was real in his new reality, and the way it stood ten feet away from him was palpably menacingly.
Despite his shock, he formulated a lethal retaliation.
He didn't know why the andriod considered him an enemy. But the thing is, it wanted him dead. Since that's the case, he was going to fight back and kill it in return!
Pretty much all of the android's body was covered in metallic plating, providing it excellent defense against external trauma. Only its face resembled the visor of a helmet, looking easier to break than any other part of its body.
Thus, Leon decided to only blast that part of its body with everything he was planning to dish out.
"Come again, you overgrown tin can." Wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand, he stood up and glared at the android.
The android sprinted toward him, intent on bursting his head open and cutting his life short.
Watching it approach, Leon slipped his dominant hand behind his back, drawing a handgun from the holster he was wearing on his back.
He aimed the barrel squarely at the android's face and pulled the trigger several times in rapid succession.
Its face looked like the weakest part of the android's body, but who knew how tough it really was?
One bullet might not be enough to shatter it
Leon had no desire to take chances and risk his life. That's why he fired several times at the andriod.
All of his actions were performed in one fluid motion, with not a single second of delay between them. Only a moment had passed since the android began rushing toward him!
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Sharp and deafening gunshots echoed through the room.
Five bullets whizzed through the air, striking the andriod directly in its face one after another.
It was too slow to dodge gunshots fired from a close range of under ten feet so it got hit by all of them.
The first two failed to pierce through but left a visible crack on its face.
The third one deepened the crack, causing it to splinter outward like a spiderweb, spreading beyond its face.
The fourth shattered it completely, leaving its sensor and various other components crucial for its function exposed and vulnerable to external threats. The fifth bullet pierced through its sensor and struck a critical component behind it, one crucial for its proper functioning, destroying them both.
Buzz! Buzz!
Sparks erupted from the damaged parts of its body. While moving towards Leon, the android staggered, its movements jerky and uncoordinated, like a fly with its wings clipped.
"I emptied half my magazine on it, but it still isn't destroyed? It deserves to be shot more."
Leon believed that what can't be shot dead just hasn't been shot enough.
Thus, he didn't hesitate to open fire again.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Emptying the rest of his magazine on it, he managed to explode its head.
Like a puppet with its strings cut, the headless android collapsed to the ground, lifeless and still.
