"Are you the two heroes with sword and shield from the Galar legend?"
Sun Wuming suddenly spoke up.
At these words, Sonia and Marie's eyes widened in shock.
The legendary heroes who wielded sword and shield to save Galar.
Everyone who grew up in Galar knew this story.
They even built statues of them throughout Galar's major landmarks to commemorate them.
They were depicted as two burly men in armor.
One wielding a sword, the other a shield.
Thus, in the minds of Galar's people, the heroes with sword and shield must have been human.
But if Sun Wuming's guess was correct, the heroes weren't human at all, but rather fairy-type Pokemon.
Sun Wuming's guess was quite reasonable.
After all, he had fought against Zacian and Zamazenta.
Their main weapons were sword and shield.
Though not physical weapons, but rather formed from energy - a sword of energy and a shield of energy.
[...Indeed, we were the ones who defeated the poison dragon back then, though we never claimed to be heroes]
After a brief silence, Zacian responded.
"You mean the ones who saved Galar weren't the ancient royal family, but you two!?"
Sonia covered her mouth in shock.
Marie's eyes were also filled with amazement.
For all this time, they never imagined that Galar's saviors were two fairy-type Pokemon.
And now they were even witnessing them in person.
Sun Wuming, however, remained perfectly calm.
Most legends existed independently.
But some carried the responsibility of protecting specific regions.
Like the Rayquaza clan that protected the planet's ozone layer.
Or Zygarde who maintained the order of the land.
It was just like that.
"What's this ancient royal family you mentioned?"
Sun Wuming, in his mummy-like state, asked Sonia from his bed.
Sonia explained:
"They're the ancestors of Galar's largest royal family today. According to legend, two of their clan leaders wielded divine weapons to save Galar."
"...What gives them the right to claim they're descendants of heroes? Do they have a birth certificate?"
Sun Wuming couldn't help but think of a scam from his previous life - "I'm the First Emperor of China, please send money."
How could people in Galar believe that family were the heroes' descendants when it happened 3000 years ago?
Did they just take their word for it?
Sun Wuming had to question the mental capacity of the people in the Galar region.
Sonia rested her chin on her hand, thought for a moment, then explained:
"Oh, I remember now. Rumor has it they possess holy relics left behind by the two heroes after the great battle 3000 years ago, which earned them official recognition from Galar."
Holy relics!?
Hearing these words, Sun Wuming raised an eyebrow and asked the two large dog-like Pokemon beside him:
"Could those be your weapons?"
[...We don't know.]
After a brief silence, Zacian responded through telepathy:
[When we fought Eternatus, both we and our opponent were gravely injured. We did indeed lose the Rusted Sword and Rusted Shield in that battle.]
"So what you're saying is, after these two dogs left the battlefield, their weapons were picked up by two humans who then claimed they saved Galar themselves,
and their descendants believed this lie generation after generation, calling themselves [descendants of heroes], until they even believed it themselves."
Sun Wuming couldn't help but laugh as he reached this conclusion.
"That's probably exactly what happened. Reality is stranger than fiction, that such things could actually happen."
This plot reminded Sun Wuming of the character he hated most in Dragon Ball -
Mr. Satan.
That's right, Sun Wuming's most hated character wasn't that scum Frieza, nor was it the forcefully redeemed Vegeta.
It was Mr. Satan.
Damn it, the Saiyans were always the ones fighting to exhaustion on the frontlines protecting Earth, so why did he get all the credit?
And the way he was redeemed was particularly special.
He had a daughter who married Goku's son, and then they became family, so his achievements became their achievements too.
Family shares everything.
Disgusting!
Sun Wuming declared that if he ever crossed over to Dragon Ball, he'd take care of him first.
Sonia and Marie's eyes widened in shock.
If Sun Wuming's deduction was true, then all the legends about the two heroes they'd heard since childhood were complete lies.
And the currently prosperous Galar royal family was nothing but a joke!
"So the legendary heroes who saved the Galar region weren't the ancient royal family, but fairy-type Pokemon..."
After calming down a bit, Sonia grew increasingly excited:
"This is a major breakthrough in fairy-type Pokemon research! I need to write a paper about this and expose the truth."
Sun Wuming had no interest in this, suddenly noticing it was late at night outside.
Remembering something, he asked Marie:
"Marie-chan, what time is it?"
"Nine-thirty."
Marie said after checking her phone.
"Hop and the others must be worried sick. Marie-chan, could you hand me my phone? I need to call Hop and the others..."
"No!"
Just as Marie was about to hand Sun Wuming his phone, Sonia suddenly rushed over, startling them both.
"Don't, don't tell Gloria you're here!"
"What's wrong?"
Sun Wuming raised an eyebrow.
"Well, that's because..."
Sonia fidgeted, unable to find the words.
She couldn't exactly say "my best friend suspects there's something between us, and I don't want to deepen that misunderstanding," could she?
Moreover, Sun Wuming's injuries were largely her fault.
This made Sonia even more ashamed to face her best friend.
Though he couldn't guess Sonia's thoughts, Sun Wuming ultimately agreed to her request.
He told Hop and Gloria that he would be training alone in the wild, and they should focus on their own training during this time.
Growl!
Just after hanging up, Sun Wuming's stomach let out a thunderous protest.
"Come to think of it, it's way past dinner time..."
Sun Wuming looked dejectedly at his protesting stomach.
"Pfft!"
Sonia couldn't help but giggle, saying with a bright smile:
"Don't worry, I know what you're like!"
Then, Sonia left the bedroom and returned in less than a minute with a huge... pot of curry.
"Ta-da~ My specialty Charizard-level curry rice!"
Sonia said proudly.
"Marie, join us too!"
Sonia invited Marie.
"Is this meant to feed a Snorlax?"
Marie stared at the pot of curry so large she could almost bathe in it.
"You just don't know this guy's appetite. This won't even be enough."
Sonia muttered under her breath.
