Sun Wuming was perhaps fortunate.
Because at least he didn't know that after the nauseating water spray incident,
The Pokémon anime writers pulled another incredibly annoying stunt—
Goh.
"Is anyone there!?"
Shortly after Roz and Olive left,
A voice suddenly came from outside the lab:
"I'm Goh from Vermilion City in Kanto, I'm here to receive my starter Pokémon."
"Coming, coming~"
As the Pokémon Professor responsible for giving starter Pokémon to new trainers, Sonia quickly put down her coffee and hurried out of the lab.
Sun Wuming showed little interest and continued reading through Galar's historical documents.
He remembered that many cities in Galar had erected stone statues holding swords and shields.
These must have been built to commemorate the two heroes who saved Galar.
However, Sun Wuming recalled that those statues were carved in human form.
Since it happened 3000 years ago, no one knew what the two heroes actually looked like.
So they sculpted two muscular human male figures as substitutes based on imagination.
"If I'm not mistaken, the heroes were probably two Pokémon, and legendary ones at that."
Sun Wuming muttered to himself.
Not long after, Sonia returned from outside and said with a slight laugh:
"That new trainer who chose Scorbunny said he's returning to Kanto to travel, saying his dream is to catch the legendary Pokémon Mew."
Sun Wuming raised his eyebrows slightly and smirked, "Nice, dreams can be whatever you want them to be."
Sonia rolled her eyes.
This guy really doesn't mince his words.
"By the way, is the minimum age for new trainers 10 years old?"
Sun Wuming suddenly thought of another question.
"Huh?"
Sonia reacted as if she'd heard something completely absurd, giving him a "are you kidding me" look as she replied:
"How could that be possible? Letting 10-year-olds travel alone would be far too dangerous, the minimum age is 14!"
Sun Wuming thought back.
True, Ash was indeed 10 when he first started his journey.
And at the beginning of each new chapter he always introduced himself as 10...
But thinking about the game settings,
The starting age of the protagonist in each part was slightly different.
For example, Red and Green were 11, May from the Hoenn saga was 12...
But Sun Wuming thought the most reasonable setting was from the Black and White saga, where the protagonist received their starter Pokémon at age 14.
With hopeful expectations, Sun Wuming took out the phone Sonia had given him and searched online.
He found that Ash's name wasn't currently on the Indigo League's official website.
If he had made it to the top 32 in the Indigo League like in the original story,
His basic information would definitely be searchable.
Was he still traveling?
Or had he not yet become an official trainer?
"What are you looking up?"
Sonia curiously leaned her head in close.
"Don't get so close, Leon might misunderstand."
Sun Wuming calmly pushed Sonia's head away.
Sonia's cheeks turned slightly red, "Don't say such things! We're just childhood friends, nothing more!"
...
...
Meanwhile, in Pallet Town, Kanto region.
"Ash, wake up!"
After knocking for a long time with no response, a stern-looking youth had no choice but to force his way in.
Looking at his brother still sound asleep hugging his pillow, his eyes flashed with deep helplessness.
"Pikachu."
The youth called out.
A Poké Ball at his waist popped open, and an electric mouse jumped out, using its zigzag-shaped tail to lightly tap the sleeping Ash's cheek.
A small current flowed through...
"Yaaaaah!"
Ash was shocked into doing the electric boogie on his bed.
After a while, he recovered and angrily yelled at the youth before him who looked five parts similar to himself but with a more mature and clear-cut face:
"Big bro Red! Couldn't you wake me up normally!?"
Red barely held back the urge to curse as he said:
"It's precisely because normal methods don't work that we have to do this..."
Ash wanted to say something more in protest.
However, Red had already changed the subject:
"Isn't today the day you receive your starter Pokémon?"
Reminded by his brother, Ash turned to look at the clock on his bedside table.
9:45...
"Ahhh! I'm late!!!"
Ash cried out in shock and ran out without even changing out of his pajamas.
A flash of worry crossed Red's eyes.
Would his little brother really be okay?
Inside Oak Laboratory.
"I've decided! I'll take this one!"
Gary picked up a Poké Ball.
Next to him, a youth who looked eight parts similar to Gary smiled and said:
"Oh? Squirtle? Good eye!"
The youth was named "Green," and when he became a new trainer last year, he had also chosen Squirtle as his starter.
"Hehe, I won't fall too far behind you, big bro Green."
Gary smiled and walked out of his grandfather's lab with his brother.
"Waaah! I hope my Pokémon hasn't been taken by someone else!"
As soon as they stepped out, they saw a figure rushing frantically towards the lab.
Gary burst out laughing:
"It's Ash, still as stupid as ever, being late even on such an important day."
...
Far away in the Kalos region, in Vaniville Town.
"Mom! I'm heading out!"
A young girl with flaxen hair, wearing a tight athletic top and red high-waisted skirt, with black stockings covering her long legs, called out to the young woman in the living room as she opened the door.
Though her demeanor still carried traces of youth, there was no doubt she would grow up to be a beauty rivaling Diantha or Cynthia.
"Take care of yourself when traveling alone, okay?"
Saki called out worriedly.
"No problem!"
And in the Hoenn and Sinnoh regions, similar scenes were playing out.
