"Hey! Wake up!"
Sun Wuming burst into the room and stood by the bed shouting.
"Mmm~"
Sleeping on her side, Lurina let out a soft murmur, her long eyelashes trembling slightly, but she still didn't get up.
"How can you sleep? At your age, at this stage, how can you sleep? Have you no ambition!"
Sun Wuming grabbed the edge of the blanket and suddenly pulled it off.
Then, he saw a heart-racing sight—
Only wearing under... well, the specific details won't be written out, to avoid censorship issues.
In any case, after Sun Wuming silently saved a screenshot to his brain's C drive, he quickly covered her back up with the blanket.
Unfortunately, perhaps feeling the sudden rush of cold air,
Lurina's eyelashes fluttered again, and she opened her eyes drowsily.
In her blurry vision, she vaguely saw a figure, which gradually became clearer...
"Kyaaaah!!!!"
Three seconds later, Lurina's scream echoed throughout the Slateport Gym.
"Y-y-you! How did you get in!?"
Lurina shrank into the corner, clutching the blanket tightly around herself, tearfully asking like the female lead in certain movies when that happens.
"I've been knocking for ages, but you wouldn't get up."
Sun Wuming said seriously:
"Get dressed and come out quickly, didn't you want to train with me?"
With that, Sun Wuming turned and left the room.
Lurina's tanned skin still bore traces of embarrassed flush.
Hearing the occasional night calls of Bug Pokémon like Durant outside the window, she looked up at the wall clock.
F-four thirty in the morning!?
...
...
The season had turned to autumn, and at this hour, a cool breeze made Lurina, now changed into workout clothes, shiver involuntarily.
When she reached the entrance, she found Sun Wuming and Sonia had been waiting there for some time.
"Release your Pokémon."
Following Sun Wuming's instruction, Lurina lightly tossed out several Poké Balls from her waist.
Blastoise, Falinks, and other Pokémon appeared in flashes of white light.
"Good, let's go."
Sun Wuming said as he started jogging towards the outskirts of town.
"Aya~"
Kubfu followed closely at his feet, its short legs moving rhythmically beside him.
Lurina exchanged glances with her Pokémon, then started jogging after them.
"Is training just running? That seems too easy,"
Lurina thought to herself as she followed, looking at the back of Sun Wuming's head.
"You should prepare yourself mentally."
Sonia warned her.
This left Lurina quite puzzled.
Soon after, they reached the outskirts of Slateport Town.
Here was a ranch, and through the wooden fence around the perimeter, dozens of Miltank could be seen leisurely grazing inside the enclosure.
Clearly, this was a Miltank farm specializing in producing Moomoo Milk.
Lurina wiped the sweat that had formed on her forehead and looked up to see Sun Wuming standing at the ranch entrance, calling inside:
"Old timer!"
In less than a minute, an old farmer wearing work clothes, with a full white beard, came out with a Miltank, smiling warmly:
"Wuming, Sonia, you're here early today too~"
Then, the old farmer looked down at Kubfu, his eyes creasing into thin lines, "The little one's here too!"
"Aya!"
Kubfu stuck out its barely-there belly and responded with excessive confidence.
Obviously, this man and Pokémon weren't first-time visitors here.
"Old timer, double the usual amount today."
As Sun Wuming said this, he pointed his thumb behind him at Lurina and her Pokémon.
"Oh my, what a pretty young lady. I thought you and Sonia were a couple, seems I was wrong."
The old farmer teased with a smile, while Sonia puffed up her cheeks in annoyance.
Then, the Miltank beside him brought out several crates filled with Moomoo Milk.
"Are you going to give the Pokémon milk to drink?"
Lurina guessed.
Sun Wuming's lips curled into a smile as he distributed the milk crates layer by layer to Sonia, Kubfu, Machamp, and Lurina's Blastoise, Falinks, and other Pokémon...
"Alright, it's five AM now."
Sun Wuming took out a timer and looked at it before saying:
"Today's delivery locations are Hammerlocke Town and Postwick Town. All the Moomoo Milk must be delivered before nine."
"H-Hammerlocke and Postwick!?"
Lurina's eyes widened like copper bells, vaguely guessing what Sun Wuming had in mind, and asked incredulously:
"You're not joking, right? It's over 50 kilometers to those two towns combined!"
Hammerlocke was a small town, but being Champion Leon's hometown, it was quite famous.
And Postwick was where her best friend Sonia lived.
So she was familiar with both towns.
Wait, after running there, don't they have to run back?
That would be over 100 kilometers!
"If it's not delivered, the milk will spoil, and any late deliveries will come out of your breakfast."
Sun Wuming said sternly:
"What are you waiting for!?"
"Ayayo!"
Without another word, Kubfu ran off towards Hammerlocke.
Sonia set off almost simultaneously.
Machamp, Falinks, and other Pokémon also snapped out of it and sprinted after Kubfu.
Watching the Pokémon's retreating figures, Lurina silently gulped.
Before she could collect her thoughts, she saw that Sun Wuming had already started running, supervising the group of Pokémon from behind.
Lurina was startled again and, without much thought, hurried to catch up.
"You're not going to run with us too, are you?"
When she reached Sun Wuming's side, Lurina turned her head and asked.
"While the Pokémon are working hard training, should their trainer just stand by and watch from the shade? Do you understand what 'leading by example' means?"
Sun Wuming retorted.
Lurina's beautiful face showed a smile worse than crying.
What you say makes sense, but something feels off.
