Xian Zhen stood frozen, his mind struggling to process what had just happened. One moment, he was in his apartment, and the next, he was on a battlefield filled with warriors, beasts, and terrifying power.
The sky above was dark red, the ground cracked and lifeless, and the air carried the scent of blood and war. Massive creatures roared in the distance, their eyes glowing with hunger, while warriors clashed using strange techniques, their weapons flashing with energy.
Standing beside him, the old man, Tian Xu, stroked his long white beard and smiled.
"This is just a glimpse of what lies beyond your world," Tian Xu said. "The world you live in is merely a cage. But out there… universes, galaxies, and chaos itself await you."
Xian clenched his fists. He could still feel the strange power within him—one side burning with dark energy, the other glowing with pure light. It was real.
"So," Xian said, his usual arrogance returning, "what does this have to do with me?"
Tian Xu chuckled. "You are special, boy. The power within you is unlike anything this universe has seen. The balance of darkness and light exists only in you."
Xian narrowed his eyes. "So what? I never asked for this."
"True," Tian Xu said, nodding. "But destiny has chosen you. You can either embrace it… or be consumed by it."
A World Beyond Silverbrook
Before Xian could respond, the battlefield around them started fading. The sounds of battle disappeared, the sky returned to normal, and in a blink, he was back in his apartment.
Xian exhaled. He had seen many crazy things in underground fights, but this… this was on a completely different level.
Tian Xu stood in front of him, his expression calm. "In three days, a portal will appear in this city. It will take you to a world where martial arts, alchemy, beast summoning, and ancient secrets exist."
Xian smirked. "And if I don't go?"
The old man shrugged. "Then your power will destroy you. The balance must be maintained. If you stay here, your dark and white power will spiral out of control."
Xian frowned. He didn't like being forced into anything. But at the same time, a part of him felt… excited. A world of martial arts, beasts, and secrets? It sounded like something out of an anime.
"Heh. Fine," Xian said. "I'll go. But not because you told me to. I'll go because I want to see just how strong I can become."
Tian Xu smiled. "Good. Then prepare yourself. This is just the beginning of your journey to becoming the Absolute Overlord."
With that, the old man vanished into thin air.
Xian sat on his bed, his hands still tingling with power. He had three days before everything changed.
