Chapter 1 - POS ATTENDANCE

" POS ", A young man sat on a chair yelling these words continously. There was a table placed right at the front of this young boy, and on top of this table lied a book, a pen, and a machine like structure called POS.

Suddenly a female passerby who had already gone a few steps past the shop stopped, she seemed to had forgotten something. She turned back, and then sideways and then back again as if looking for something. Emmanuel being a sharp guy immediately understood what was going on and then resumed his yelling, " POS, POS, POS ". This time, he yelled it even louder than the previous times. The woman as if finally finding what she was searching for turned towards Emmanuel and let out an " ohhhhh " sound.

She started walking towards Emmanuel while dipping her hand inside her hand bag as if searching for something. Just as she had gotten closer to Emmanuel, she removed her hands from her bag, she seemed to have found what she was looking for. As her hands pulled out of her bag, with it came out a sort of card, this was an ATM card. The card used to make bank transaction or perform bank activities through an ATM machine or a POS.

She soon got to Emmanuel's front, and then passed the card unto Emmanuel who had already stretched his hands out as if waiting for it. " How much ma ", Emmanuel was still talking when he was hurriedly interrupted by the woman, " 20,000 " She said, she didn't mention the currency as there was only one currency active in Nigeria which was naira.

Not wanting to waste anymore of the woman time, Emmanuel immediately picked up the POS machine and then performed the necessary operations he needed to perform. The point where they asked for the amount, he wrote the * 20,000 * that the woman requested for. There was also a place where they asked him to select the type of account the card owner uses, and so he asked the woman who in return replied " Savings ".

In no time, the transaction was completed. The machine redirected Emmanuel back to the home screen where the account balance of the bank account linked to the machine was shone. After confirming the amount had increased by 20,000, he dropped the machine and then dipped his hands into the little cross bag he was wearing and brought out a bundle of cash. He counted 20 pieces of the cash and passed it on to the woman. Usually, it was advisable for a customer to recount the money given to them before leaving. But then as Emmanuel saw that the woman was in a rush, he let her be in other not to annoy her. The woman in question had already started walking and had walked quite the meters.

This was the nature of Emmanuel's current business, he was a POS attendance. Actually, he was suppose to have been in school already with his mates, but he had yet to be given admission as his JAMB mark wasn't all that high. His JAMB score was just a few numbers above the cut off mark for the school he had picked.

There were two main exams which results ere required to get into university in Nigeria. These exams were WAEC and JAMB. Emmanuel did nail his WAEC, but he couldn't really say so for his Jamb. More like he wasn't really happy about his JAMB, as he considered the results below average.

Emmanuel received quite a few more customers, whom he attended to well. At some point, his cash had finish and so he went to his madam's house which was close by to get a new bundle of cash. The house was a two story building, with a gate dividing the house into two sections. On one section was his madam and her husband house, and on the other was a building with tenant, and a bakery. On his madam section, there wasn't only a house there, as there actually existed a school there. This school was also ran by his madam and her husband just like the POS business and the loan lending business they operated.

Emmanuel has always felt admiration for his madam and her husband. He liked their industrious mentality and had always wished to be as smart as them, though not exactly where they where. Though he always felt bad thinking that way as he knew that they wouldn't be where they where if not for the bad incident that took place with them back then. He hadn't actually started working with them when it took place and had only heard about the story when he came in.

Emmanuel soon got into the compound where his madam's house was located and then walked towards their section. As soon as he got there, he didn't go into the main building first but instead went to a small building beside it. It actually looked more like a store.

As soon as Emmanuel got there, he was greeted with the sight 0f a man looking not so young and not so old, somewhere in the middle. This man was Mr. David, Emmanuel's boss and his madam's husband. " Are you looking for Mrs. Amarachi " He asked Emmanuel. Emmanuel on the other hand didn't answer his question immediately, instead he first greeted, " Good Morning sir ".

Mr. David on earing him just let out a short chuckle, he had always liked Emmanuel for this, Always trying to do his own parts of every necessity.
