"I will never forgive you!" She screamed at me. The girl of
my dreams was right here in front of me crying and
screaming. I wish I hadn't taken that job now.
"You don't have to. Just please don't be like that. I do everything I do for you. Because… I love you." I stammered out, finally confessing my love for her. I don't know why I picked the worst time to do this. But I couldn't bring myself to ask her beforehand. Is it weird that an assassin is shy?
"How could you love me after what you did? You killed him!" She yelled punching me in my chest continually.
"I did what I thought was best! Why can't you see that. He was abusing you." I said on the brink of tears while taking her punches.
"He was still my father! I'm glad you didn't ask me out before this! I HATE YOU!" She screamed at me turning around and running.
"WAIT!!!" I yelled reaching out to her but it was as if everything was moving in slow motion, and before I knew it she was long gone.
I woke up from the nightmare at that moment. Tears were streaming down my face, I looked pitiful. I felt so bad for doing that to her.
Even though I loved her so much, I had finally done the inevitable. I had caused her to lose whatever feelings she may have had for me and now there's no way she would give me a chance.
As I got out of bed I found my father standing in the doorway. He was watching me with such a coldness it sent shivers down my spine. He was standing right next to a photo of me and her when we hung out at the movies. I hoped he wouldn't see it and throw it away. The room was dark but I knew what was there. The walls and ceiling were striped up and down in black and red. My dresser was black with red handles and my tv was behind my game console and my custom controller.
"You thinking about her again?" He asked me in a deep voice.
"Of course I am dad! How could I not!" I yelled at him. I know it isn't his fault, but he wanted me to take that job so bad, I feel set up.
"Kamelio. I'm sending you to the school I went to, a school for assassins. maybe you'll meet someone there, maybe you will die there. But you are my son and I trust you will be a fine assassin by the time you come home."
"Why does my life suck so much." I started wiping the tears as he left, before following him into the hall.
"Dad, what's this school like anyway?" I asked, my voice cracking slightly.
"Well, it's a school filled with people like you. Most of them will be cold, But it shouldn't be hard for you to find and make friends." He gruffly replied as we descended the steps.
"Rin don't tell me you're sending him to THAT school!" My mother asked from the living room as we arrived.
"Of course I am, look at our son. The poor boy has been distraught ever since he took that job. But the job isn't what's hurting him, what's hurting him is the rejection from that woman." Rin said slowly, "this will help him get his strength ba-"
"HE COULD DIE DAMMIT!!!" My mother stood up angrily, cutting him off. "You know how dangerous that school is, yet you want to send him there? I barely survived my damn self!"
"Don't worry mom, dad's right. Besides I want to go, I want the experience." I butted in hoping there'd be no backlash for getting in their business. But I guess it was my business too considering I'm the topic.
She stared at me for a second, quietly observing me. Then as if she was never upset she smiled and hugged me.
"You be safe now Kamelio. No matter how old you get or how far you go, you will always be our son." She stated before looking me in my eyes. "Have you been crying again?"
I smiled, wiping the tears that had streaked down my face at the mention of my first love. She always had me in a chokehold, she was the love of my life.
"We'll leave after breakfast, it's a year round school so you'll be staying in the dorms there for a while." My father said as we sat down and prepared to eat.
"What should I expect when I get there?" I asked picking at the oatmeal in front of me.
"You should expect to have battles to the death with many people." It's a school where only the strong survive! At least it used to be back in my day!" Rin said laughing and smiling brightly.
"Don't worry if we get news of your death your father will be joining you shortly." She said glaring at my Dad. Considering his smile faded faster than blue jeans in the washing machine, I dont think she was joking.
"Well at any rate, you should eat your breakfast, we have quite a day ahead of us." Rin said while smiling sheepishly at my mother.
