Chapter 31: Incidents in the City 2
The three of them tried to break into the hideout, but for some reason the door wouldn't open.

"Why is this happening? The door won't open."
Sharin pulled the doorknob impatiently over and over again, trying to force her way in.
"Calm down, someone probably locked the door when you guys fled back then."
"That can't be possible. There shouldn't be any sign that the door had been used in the first place. The passage is not usually locked, and I didn't even have time to lock it back then."
At that moment, she suddenly looked ahead.
"I hear voices, there's someone further ahead."
I put my ear to the door to confirm and I heard the sound too. I can literally hear faint voices of conversation. And it's getting closer and closer to the passage.
"This is bad, let's hide somewhere first!"
I took Filiana's hand, who seemed not to understand the situation, then hid behind a protruding wall. Sharin quickly extinguished the torch she was holding and hid as well.
After a while, the door opened and two men appeared. The color of their skin is green and they didn't look human. The men seemed to be looking for us, illuminating the place where we were previously with their lanterns.
"Damn, there's no one here. Are you sure you heard something?"
"Oh, I certainly heard it, the door made a noise."
The two of them remained on guard for a while, but since they couldn't find us, they then went back.
I let out a deep sigh from my lungs. It may have only lasted about ten seconds, but it felt incredibly long to me. I wiped the cold sweat that was running down my forehead without me even realizing it.
"Ah, I'm glad you saved us from the situation. So that would be an Orc, right?"
In contrast to me, who was relieved that we had survived the situation, Sharin had a somber expression on her face.
"It seems they've settled in my old hideout, but why did they go to so much trouble to take shelter there?"
"Wouldn't it be because it's like you guys, because it's convenient to live in the place?"
It was probably taken over by some wandering Orcs looking for a home.
At least that seems to have convinced Filiana, who was suspicious of me.
"This is terrible, I have to tell the lord quickly...!"
