Chapter 3 - A true carnage

Leon: "Alright, let's refocus-new world, new situation. I didn't expect to get a whole new body… Reincarnation? Damn… So it's like converting old currency into a new, modern value. Same existence, different form. Alright… deep breath-"

[Before he could process further, a voice suddenly cut through the air.]

??? "Where's my baby boy?!"

[A woman burst into the room, her presence almost overwhelming. Her hair was an ethereal cascade of midnight violet, woven with shimmering silver and deep sapphire, as if the cosmos itself had been captured within each strand. When the light touched it, celestial gold rippled through like shifting stardust. Her eyes were a masterpiece of contrast-one an opalescent silver, reflecting the world like a polished mirror, while the other was a haunting amethyst, deep and enigmatic, holding secrets beyond mortal comprehension. Her alabaster skin carried a faint warmth, an unearthly beauty paired with an undeniable nobility.]

[Before Leon-now Dazai-could react, she pulled him into a suffocating embrace, pressing him tightly against her chest.]

??? "My little Dazai is so adorable in the morning! I was getting worried you wouldn't make it to breakfast. You know your grandfather isn't a patient man."

[Dazai struggled, his inner thoughts racing.]

Inner Dialogue: "Dazai? So that's my name in this world… And 'baby'? Is this supposed to be… my mother? Never thought I'd have one of those."

[After a brief struggle, he managed to push away just enough to catch his breath.]

Dazai: "Mother, please… I'd rather not suffocate before breakfast."

[She pouted playfully but before she could respond, a maid appeared at the doorway, bowing respectfully.]

Maid: "Lady Touka, Young Lord Dazai, the food will get cold if you delay any longer."

[Touka's eyes lit up as she immediately grabbed Dazai's wrist.]

Touka: "Then we shouldn't waste another second!"

[Ignoring any protests, she effortlessly dragged him toward the dining hall. Upon entering, a dignified figure stood at the head of the table, waiting with a presence that commanded silent respect. He was an older man, yet his tall, well-built frame carried no signs of frailty. His pure white hair, neatly swept back, framed a face that bore only the marks of wisdom, not age. Beneath his distinguished silver brows, his golden eyes gleamed with an intensity that could quiet a room with a single glance. His suit was a masterpiece of tailored precision-deep charcoal with subtle gold embroidery tracing the cuffs and collar, a dark vest beneath fastened with platinum buttons, and a pristine white cravat completing his noble attire. In his hands, he held a small, ornate box.]

??? "Ah… I wondered what was keeping you. My grandson, a Carnage man is not known for late arrivals… well, aside from your father."

[Touka gently set Dazai down, but before he could speak, she chimed in with an airy laugh.]

Touka: "Forgive me, Father Ryuko, but my baby boy was simply too precious standing in front of the mirror. I couldn't contain myself!"

[Ryuko let out a quiet hum, neither scolding nor agreeing, before turning his full attention to Dazai. There was a weight in his gaze-one that spoke of expectation, yet held a rare warmth.]

Ryuko: "Come, boy. Let's take a walk before we eat. It will do you good to stretch your limbs."

[Dazai hesitated for a moment before nodding.]

Dazai: "Of course, Grandfather."

[The two stepped into the garden, the crisp morning air carrying the faint scent of fresh earth and blooming flowers. Ryuko walked with measured steps, his hands resting lightly behind his back, his posture effortlessly commanding.]

[After a brief silence, he chuckled softly.]

Ryuko: "Boy, you are fourteen now-soon to be fifteen. That is when you will officially be recognized as a man. But that is not what I wished to discuss with you."

[Dazai listened attentively, still adjusting to this world but keenly aware that this was an important conversation.]

Ryuko: "A man's true power in this world is not measured by stars or by the family he marries into. Those things matter, yes, but they are not what define a man's worth. True power is found in wit… in will. The strength to carve your own path is what sets men apart."

[He glanced at Dazai, his golden eyes sharp yet unwavering.]

Ryuko: "I am only a Third Star, yet my name is known throughout the land. In a world where women hold the highest value, only the men with the will to surpass their limits can truly be free. Your father… he was one such man. He chose his own bride, and he carved his own fate."

[With that, Ryuko lifted the ornate box and carefully opened it, revealing a pair of gloves resting inside. The material was unlike anything Dazai had ever seen-midnight black, shifting like woven shadows, laced with faintly pulsing crimson veins. An intricate silver emblem of an eclipsed moon was embedded on the back of each hand, surrounded by ancient runes that seemed to hum with unseen power. The fingertips were reinforced with enchanted obsidian, allowing for both precision and devastating force. As if responding to the air itself, the gloves exuded a mist-like aura, bending the space around them ever so slightly.]

Ryuko: "These gloves… are the Carnage family's treasure. They have been passed down for generations. And now, they are yours."

[Dazai carefully took the gloves, running his fingers over the intricate designs before slipping them on. The fit was perfect, almost as if they had been made for him. As he flexed his fingers, the crimson veins pulsed faintly, responding to his touch. A small chuckle escaped his lips-not one of arrogance, but of amusement and newfound respect.]

Dazai: "I see… My goal is simple then. I won't ever disappoint the Carnage family."

[Ryuko's lips curved into a rare smile as he placed a firm hand on Dazai's shoulder.]

Ryuko: "Hahaha… That's right, young one. Your path is in your hands now. Walk it well."
