The sun fought it's way through the curtains.
One's purpose was to block all light, preventing the inhabitants of waking up.
And the other is to let the residing inhabitants know to wake up.
After a long battle, the curtains seemed to have an advantage due to the weak power that the sun possessed.
Before realizing that the sun was only getting stronger by time. It first started as a little glow, then slowly by slowly turned into a beam.
And thus, the curtains had no other way but to let the sun enter and cast light in the room.
Sunny blinked slowly, his gears in his body working its way on bringing life to him.
The first thing he ever felt, was the warmth beside him.
It was a feeling he could get used to.
No, it was a feeling he never wanted to let go of.
His gaze drifted down, taking in the sight of her nestled beside him. Her silver hair spilled across the pillow.
Her face was calm, cute even.
The usual steel in her expression was absent, replaced by something vulnerable.
Something that was just for him.
Sunny found himself smiling.
He shifted closer, their bodies pressing together under the thin sheets, his arm curling around her waist.
A sense of quiet contentment settled over him, but it wasn't enough.
Not yet.
He wanted more.
Lifting his head slightly, he pressed a gentle kiss against her cheek. Her skin was warm, impossibly soft, and the scent of her hair filled his lungs.
But to his mild disappointment, Nephis didn't wake up.
Sunny frowned slightly.
How could she sleep so soundly when he was right here, showering her with affection?
'Well, if one kiss wasn't enough…'
With a smirk, he moved lower, capturing her lips in a kiss.
This time, he felt her arm slightly twitching a bit.
Then, slowly, her lashes fluttered before her silver eyes cracked open.
She blinked sleepily at him,
before realizing what happened.
She let out a small, barely audible pout. "You're kissing me while I'm sleeping."
Sunny chuckled, his smile widening as he propped himself up on one elbow. "You weren't waking up. I had to take drastic measures."
Nephis stared at him for a moment before exhaling softly, her arms shifting to wrap around his shoulders, pulling him back down.
"Unfair," she murmured, her breath brushing against his lips.
Sunny's amusement only grew as he traced a hand along the curve of her back.
"What's unfair? That I get to admire my beautiful girlfriend first thing in the morning?"
Nephis gave him a glare.
"That you get to steal kisses when I can't even fight back."
He hummed in amusement. "Then fight back."
She did.
Nephis leaned in, pressing her lips against his.
It was slow, the kind of kiss that made time pass. He responded aswell, his grip on her tightening as he pulled her closer.
They stayed like that for a long while.
Eventually, when they finally parted, a thin strand of saliva lingered between them, breaking only when Sunny leaned back slightly.
Nephis studied him through her semi-tired eyes.
Then, to his surprise, the corners of her lips curled, forming into a smile.
'You little-'
He felt something inside of him, like a burning flame that had been catalysed to the extreme.
Like a feeling so powerful the only way to calm it is for him to be with her...
At all times.
He teased her as he ran a finger along her cheek, his voice barely a whisper.
"You're so cute when you pout."
She narrowed her eyes, but before she could respond.
He leaned in swiftly, stealing another kiss before stepping into the shadows and appearing near the door.
Feeling triumphant, he casually leaned against the doorframe.
Inside his mind, his resolve was set in stone.
He had made up his mind.
He wanted to spend every single day with her. Every morning, every night. He wanted to tease her, to make her smile, to steal kisses whenever he damn well pleased. He wanted to bask in her warmth, to see her wake up beside him just like this- forever.
'Prepare yourself, Neph.' he thought to himself, his smirk widening.
Because he wasn't going anywhere.
